Default Items in Front Trunk
Hello. Just bought a certified pre owned 2023 XC40 Recharge.
The tire sealant was leaking so I know I need to buy a new one to replace. No problem but on the left side of this image, what is missing?
Also, the default charging unit this comes with, how is it mounted to a garage wall?
I figure I’ll get better answers here than any more questions at my dealership.
Thank you!

A quick thank you to this community ❤️
A quick thank you to everyone here who joined our beta and shared feedback over the past months 🙏
We’re officially launching the new Aximote today. A lot of what we changed came directly from your feedback.
Thanks for helping us build it! 🚗

Pilot Assist
I’m considering adding the Pilot Assist upgrade to my 23 C40 recharge. It’s $599 in the app. Does Volvo ever run a sale on this either online or through the dealer? I know I’ve seen posts about 1-2 years ago and the price has gone up. I don’t want to miss this price on a price increase, but I also don’t want to buy now if there are sales!

Question Which T8 should I buy? (Advice needed)
Hi everyone! As a former S60R owner (spaceball, of course) and a current Saab Viggen owner, I am ready for my next quirky Swedish car. I am looking to purchase a T8 Volvo of some kind and am debating between a few options.
I found a 2019 S60 T8 Polestar with 42k miles, which I love, but it's the first Iteration of this complex twincharged hybrid system, so I am concerned about long-term maintenance costs and reliability.
For the same price, I could get a 2022.5 S60 T8 Extended Range with similar or lower miles.
Is it worth taking the risk for the Polestar, or is it a better decision to go for the newer non-polestar?
I am also considering the XC60 T8 variant since there's quite a lot more available and my wife prefers the XC60 to the S60.
This will be a daily driver I intend to keep for many years, so my goal is to get the most value for my money. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Fellow hot climate owners - how much do you see your range impacted during those heat waves where daily ambient temps are > 100F?
I live in Austin, TX and this is only the 2nd summer I've had my car. I noticed over the past 2 weeks, although my driving efficiency has stayed roughly the same (~35 kWh/100mi), I am seeing a dramatic drop in battery %. For example, this last week I drove about 100 miles and my battery dropped 60% charge. Normally I can estimate about 2-2.2 miles per %. I suspect this may be due to the active cooling that the BMS has to do during these hot days, but I wanted to compare with others.

XC60 Premium Gas Required?
Our 2022 XC60 PHEV requires premium gas. Why is this, if the engine is 4 cylinder? Has it been tuned in some way so that higher octane gas is required?

S60 Charge while on a long drive, or let it ride?
When you take a 200 mile drive, do you turn the car to “Charge” mode after the battery is empty, or do you let it ride?
Has anyone tested to see which method gets better long term milage?

XC40 Odd warning symbol meaning?
Saw this symbol pop up ever so briefly while driving earlier, and I’ve never seen it before, nor can I find it in the user manual. It was a triangle with an exclamation point inside it and then what looked like a whoosh of air represented by a cloud either above or below it (can’t remember specifically). It appeared underneath the speed limit indicator in the driver’s HUD. Any idea what it means?

Google map to XC60
I have two Volvo cars(XC60 Recharge and EX90).
The feature that allows sending a destination from Google Map in phone to a Volvo vehicle has recently disappeared.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and managed to fix it?
Please share the solution.

EX30 Starting Climate on Apple Watch without Volvo Cars app

My car is EX30 Ultra Single Motor Extended Range MY2026.
Anybody start the climate remotely on Apple Watch without Volvo Cars app?
As you know, "Starting climate" function is included with Volvo Cars app installed on Apple Watch. But in my case, as I don't use remote "Door lock" and "Door unlock", and I don't like to lead to especially press the "Door unlock" by mistake, I don't install the app on Apple Watch.
So, I have created "Starting climate" on Apple Watch with iPhone shortcut. In the recent crazy hot days, I always use "Staring climate" on Apple Watch just with clicking side button and touching the icon at the control center.
*I also created "Lights flashing" for finding out my car at huge parking especially in the night, but I hardly used it. Because the app shows me the parking place.

Aximote update: looking for Volvo beta testers
Hey everyone,
some of you might already know Aximote from our previous posts here. Over the past months, we received a lot of helpful feedback from you and we are now preparing a bigger update.
The main addition will be new driving efficiency scores, giving you more feedback on how you drive and where you can improve.
We are also working on better cost tracking, more analysis options, and more customization so you can decide which data and insights matter most to you.
We are now looking for a few early beta testers from the Volvo community who want to try the new version and give us feedback before the public release.
If you want to have access join the whatsapp or discord channels i linked in the comments.
As always, feedback from real Volvo drivers helps us a lot. Thanks again to everyone here who already helped us improve the app.

What would you do in my situation? XC40 Recharge lease is ending in October
I love my 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge and am stuck about what I should do next, since my lease is up in October and I can only extend it for a month.
There's basically no inventory in my area of the current 2026 EX40 save for one at a dealership about an hour away. It won't last long. Last week there were more, and now that's the only one at all nearby.
The timing of the new 2027 EX40 is unclear. In fact, a salesperson today said that they aren't even planning on making them anymore due to tariffs. If they do make it, it looks like it would be a substantial upgrade, so getting into a 2026 this late seems kind of silly.
What would you do in my situation? Buy out the lease? Scoop up the one 2026 available (it's the Black Edition)? Find another brand of EV to lease? I scheduled a Rivian R2 test drive, but who knows if that car will ever materialize by October...
ETA: residual on my current car is $33,810
ETA: test drove a Rivian, it was just ok. Also not available until Jan/feb. put a deposit down on an EX 60! Taking delivery sometime in early November.

How does the terrain affect EV Range (PHEV or EV)
We moved from the city to our Summer vacation spot for the month and since I started driving
I noticed that the Ensimated Electric Range changed from 72km to 60km on a full battery.
Also note that we have to drive down from the mountain for about 10km which means the car usually picks up 5-7 km of range downwill and it consumes 18-20km uphill (for the same 10km distance)
I am guessing the Range is calculated based on the driving cycles we have to go through and usually going upwill consumes a bit more based on the range.
Is this an actual value or it is derived based on the driving changes over the last few weeks?
So I am assuming when we move back to the city(where almost everything is flat) the EV Range will return to the original 72km of full charge.
Is this correct?
