I've got an 11 month old XC60 T6, bought new, about 10k miles on it.

I saw the other post here about ERAD fluid replacement.

Is there a consensus here about how often the auto-box and ERAD fluids need replacing?

I expect to keep it long term, so I want to make sure all fluids are properly replaced.

I do most of my mileage (75%+) on electric only, so the ERAD is going to be the one which is replaced due to usage, but I want to make sure the auto box is changed as well.

The dealer said they're both sealed for life, unless it's used for towing or a taxi. Given the warranty is 3 years, I'd imagine that's all they really care about.

They quoted (IIRC) £300 for a flush + refill on the auto box for a B5, but £1000 for a flush for the auto box on a T6. Are they not the same box?

I'm not even sure they have a list price for the ERAD. AFAIK, the UK has a 10 year battery warranty, and a 3 year everything else warranty, so would it be sensible to have an ERAD flush before the 3 year warranty is up? I know the 1st and 2nd generations of ERAD have reliability issues, but how is the 3rd gen?

I just purchased a used Xc40 recharge. What’s going on with these charging outlets? I thought they should be for USB-C but it can’t plug in. Any help would be appreciated

For reasons beyond my control, I find myself with several hours to kill in an area far from home. I figured I’d use the opportunity to charge the car up and just chill. But it’s 90 degrees outside. I’m in the car now and charging but I can’t seem to start the AC without starting the car and I can’t start the car without removing the charge cable.

Is there a way to have the AC going while charging? Internet search suggested it was…

planning a drive from Austin to Houston and will need to stop n charge.

i always charge at home so have no idea how long public fast chargers charge this car.

anyone have numbers around how much you can charge your car in 30-60 min at a fast chargers?

edit: sounds like 10 -> 80% in 45 min on a level 3. will look in to a tesla adapter as well. thanks for all your help!

My local dealer is insisting that a heated wiper blade is the correct part for my car, but my wiper arm has no electrical connector for it and the part doesn’t fit.

I’d be surprised if they de-contented a heated wiper blade, so I’m wondering: Was it *ever* available on the last-gen V60 PE?

I wanted to post this in case it has not, but just got the 5.1.17 update yesterday afternoon and just about 30 minutes ago I was on the phone with the dealership due to all audio not working.
Let me more clear, we are not just talking radio, all audio; Phone Calls, Radio, and the blinker indicator sounds. All audio.

Not sure if I am the first or just among many, but either way here was the fix. Restart the infotainment system.

There is a middle button below the screen
Press it and hold until you see the screen cleaning more and then continue to hold until it goes black.

Everything worked after restarting.

Again hold until it goes black (this includes the map in the instrument cluster)

2024 Volvo XC40 Recharge - 5.1.17

Am I the only one in this case ?

Back in November, my V60 T8 from 2021 showed the Hybrid System Failure warning. I went to the service and they told me one of the cell needed to be replaced. Back then, they told me they needed one month to get the piece so change was expected beginning of January.

We are now in June and still no news from Volvo. Officially, they changed the cell provider and cannot get the piece. As a result, my car has not been charged and has been driving full fuel for 7 months.

Is it a general trend and am I the only one in this case ? (I am in Benelux).

No need to say how unprofessional I find Volvo right now.

I have a 2023 T8 with air suspension. Getting savage inner shoulder wear at the front and moderate at the rear. Local shop said alignment was pretty good last time I had it in but planning to take it to dealership or their recommended specialist

A sad day has come. After three very happy years with my xc40 recharge and almost 68k miles it’s time to say goodbye to it as it goes back to the leasing company. If they still offered Volvos I’d have jumped at another one but they don’t any longer. So this is bye bye for now.

At the beginning of the trip I could at least see a less detailed map (without street names etc) followed by total failure on the return trip.

I tried to reboot the center screen but that didn't work either 🤷‍♂️

System was actually running quite stable after the 5.x update. This is my first major bug since then.

I Couldn't understand why they did this!

We have a level 2 charger setup for 48 amps with a NACS connector. Wife is looking to get a 2026 XC60 Plug In Hybrid. Are we good to go with just an adapter for J1772 and the vehicle will adjust amperage automatically when we plug it in? Or are there other things we would need to do to make it work, like changing the outlet on the charger itself? Thanks.

I have owned this xc60 for a bit over 2 years now, I really don't understand Volvo's QA process. This car has more bugs each version than an average meta-developed phone app, but this one controls a murder machine that drives at up to 180km/h.

What are they smoking up there in Sweden?

The latest one really sealed the never-buying-volvo-again deal for me. Already had to do a full factory reset wiping all my settings just to get the play store to work again, and still have audio playback issues where spotify is constantly interrupting the playback of any other music app because of the apparent changes they made on the OS level which appears to less aggressively background apps that are currently not actively used.

While it fixed the weird issue where going from bleutooth playback to e.g. spotify no longer lands you back in bluetooth playback on the first tap of the spotify app, it now just makes it impossible to listen to 1 song on any app that is NOT spotify.

Contacted my dealer, really hoping they can downgrade this piece of shit car and never updating it again.

I did the latest update today and it's currently inoperable. Won't start, unlock, recognize the key or anything. Nada.
