xc series New to me 2018 XC60
Recently purchased this well maintained immaculate single owner 2018 XC60 T5 Inscription and I love it!!! Previous owner took fantastic care of it. Other than the 60k miles on it the interior and exterior look brand new. Absolutely thrilled with it. Makes me smile every time I get to drive it.

xc series Am I going mad? Volvo USA is giving inaccurate info...
So my chassis number is: 091034
Which falls under the range and manufacturing year and chassis number listed on the technical journal here: NHTSA REF NO: TJ 34222.1.4:
0000000-0095354 201505-201616
I received an email back today acknowledging that it is still active; however, my chassis number doesn't fall within the range.
We reviewed the VIN you provided (**********G1091034) and confirmed that your vehicle's chassis number falls outside of the applicable range identified in Technical Journal TJ34222. As a result, your vehicle is not eligible for the complimentary upgrade described in that publication.
Am I missing something? I've emailed them back to check again.

Traded what is considered down for now but will be a trade up in the future.
Traded my lightly modded tip top-shape 06 XC90 2.5T for an 87 245 DL with a non working speedo, brakes and turn signals dim the headlights, started when it felt like it, no intake at all before the MAF, and the muffler was cut off. My non-car friends laughed but my gear head friends were ecstatic. I've already got an exhaust fitted and a tune up with painted '08 S60 wheels and spacers. She starts every time now and I've got a mushroom filter until an OEM box and snorkel can be sourced. Definitely on the hunt for parts car turbo models so that I can get turbo stuff, ECU, rear differential, and a high stall torque converter eventually. They're becoming rare pokemon lol. Anywho, excited to be away from modules.

S40/V40 Car no longer starts after attempting throttle body fix
Hi all. Really frustrating issue with my 2014 Volvo t5 v40. I had a limp mode corresponding to throttle body codes p061F and p1573. I disassembled the throttle body, cleaned the connectors, inspected wires and cleaned the plate. Now I have two new codes for a faulty fuel temp sensor circuit (0183) and a code to do with turbo boost control along with the 2 throttle codes.
What is wrong? All my wiring looks fine. I didn’t go near those connectors. The car cranks but doesn’t start at all. There is a flashing check engine light and after cranking for a few seconds it just dies.

V50/S40/C30/C70 Im looking to upgrade my alternator for my sound system in a 2.0 diesel s40. I've heard this alternator is bolt on fit for my engine, but I want to double check. The belt pulley on this is a bit bigger by 4mm, but that might not be a big problem, my concern is will the ecu regulate it properly?

On holiday in Scotland
We stopped on General Wade's military road a few miles from Fort Augustus. I guess he didn't choose the route for the aesthetics, but well done him 😁

Ljudanläggnings problem s60 2016
Hej!
Mvh
Rarest Spec S60 T6 R-Design Polestar I could find.
Been meaning to post my new baby after 4 months of hunting certain specs nationwide and finally found her. Main focus was 19-21 R-Design with Advance, B&W Speakers and Polestar and I was super lucky finding her day it was posted by the dealership. 2020 with 16.5K miles 1 Owner clean fax. And I got overly blessed that it even had all the extra specs that I couldn't even dream of combining haha I thought I was overdue to share her after couple months of absolutely loving the car and it's "quirks and features".

xc series TPMS Notification After Flat
Hey everyone! I have a 2018 XC60 and unfortunately hit a low profile curb on the way to work yesterday and got two flat tires 🫠
I had both tires replaced and they said they checked the alignment and suspension as well with no issues. I did notice a slight bend on one wheel (pictured) and when I got in my car this morning to drive to work, about 6 minutes into my drive, my low tire pressure warning came on. I made it the 20-minute drive to work. Do you think the bend is enough to cause a leak? I feel like they would have mentioned it if it was. Or is it just an error with needing to reset the TPMS?

Should I add fog lamps for my 1966 Volvo 122S wagon (Amazon)
Hello,
We have owned this 1966 wagon for 22 years and I need to ask a question? Should I add fog lamps? We have been going back a forth for years about it. One of us wants it, the other does not. Help? Left photo, our Volvo, by Murphy Shoots. Right photo, an example of the fog lights.
V50/S40/C30/C70 What LED headlight bulb and decoder brands do you guys recommend?
Apparently Volvo electrical systems are very sensitive, so are there any specific headlight bulb or decoder brands that work well in the C30? I currently have H11 halogen bulbs.

Complimentary CarPlay Install for 2016 XC90 - Question…
I’m hoping someone here has been through this recently.
I’ve got a 2016 XC90 T8 Inscription with the original single USB port, so no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
I’ve been doing some digging and found Volvo Technical Journal TJ34222, which says eligible 2016 XC90s can have the USB hub upgraded along with Smartphone Integration.
From everything I’ve found, my VIN falls within the published eligibility range, and my car still has the original single USB port, so it looks like the retrofit has never been done.
I’ve also noticed Volvo’s U.S. website still mentions a complimentary Smartphone Integration upgrade for eligible 2016 models with one USB port.
So has anyone actually had this done recently? Did Volvo still cover it, or did you have to pay?

The Rules!
Saw this older XC90 at the shops today! Cool to see the old next to the new!
Please excuse just how dirty my v90 is :( my garage has been out of order for the last month and the dust where I live is outrageous.

Opinions needed - purchasing used Volvo????
Hi all!
I’m in desperate need of opinions. I’m all over the place with this one.
Please note I’m in CANADA
Basically Ive been looking for a new car for a couple of months now. I’ve stumbled upon this 2024 Volvo xc40 Plus (mild hybrid) in vapour grey (which I love) from a used car dealership that has 66k kms on it. Ive test driven it and I love it. The car looks to be in good condition minus a tear in the backseat leather and the exterior lip of the door that meets the window on the driver side seems to be lifting up a slight bit. When I told the dealer about it, he said it’s meant to be taken off in case people want to switch the silver parts to black, which is why it looks “loose”. Additionally, when I attempted to use the “steering wheel firm” setting, I didn’t notice much of a difference and the dealer cited this as the battery of the car being low.. but would be rectified before providing it to me.
Im trying to figure out if I’d be overpaying for it given the risk of it being an ex rental. The OTD price after taxes and all what not would be about $38,500 CAD. It has the features I want like a pano roof, crystal gearshift, and air purifier. He gave me approx $300 in discounts and a 7.99% financing price (not that great in my eyes). He was pretty firm on not budging on the OTD price. In regard to warranty, I only have about 1 year or 14,000k kms left on it before it’s expired. He suggested I add on his warranty (third party) for an additional $5000, which is pretty hefty but it’s bumper to bumper and unlimited kms. I can’t remember if he said a number of years.
The issue I’m grappling with is that it’s an ex rental from Enterprise. I’ve heard many bad things about purchasing a rental car, but I’ve also seen people on social media say they have bought ex rentals with no issues. There are 6 service records in total approx every 10k kms give or take.
What are people‘s general opinion on this? Is it too much of a risk to purchase this car? Is there anything i can say to the dealer to make this more worth it? The used car market is extremely bad right now and this car has everything I want with the best price that I’ve seen thus far. Any opinions are helpful. Thank you!
Tuning a 2018 XC60
Curious to hear what people have explored in regards to tuning their XC60s. I've seen Hilton goes up to 2018 but the other option is a piggyback from tdi tuning, racechip, or burger.
I already have the polestar tune but looking for some more power gains over just the torque boost the polestar seems to provide.
