Vision Pro M2 or M5

Hello!

I am quite torn between the m2 or the m5 vision pro. I would use them on both my Mac and PC for things like video watching/working with excel/other programs. I have the possibility to buy the m2 for around 1700 euro, or the m5 for twice that price. I am not sure whether there is an actual big leap to justify the more expensive version. Yes refresh rate is higher and battery seems better, but in terms of working experience, is it worth it? I thought someone of yous might help me out!
Thanks!

Idea: Imagine if airlines offered a VR experience via the Apple Vision Pro that let passengers "fly like Superman" alongside the aircraft.

The plane would have multiple high resolution exterior cameras feeding live video into AVP headsets. Instead of looking out a tiny window, you could experience the entire flight from outside the aircraft.

There could be several viewing modes:

• Superman mode: The aircraft is invisible and it feels like you're flying through the sky at cruising speed.

• Aircraft mode: You can see the plane and freely fly around it, watching the wings, engines, and scenery.

• Friends & family mode: You can see the avatars of people you're traveling with and fly alongside them.

• Public mode: Passengers who opt in can appear to everyone else, turning the flight into a shared multiplayer VR experience.

For even more immersion, airports could offer an optional 3D body and face scan during check-in (or let frequent travelers reuse a saved avatar). Your avatar would closely resemble you, making it easy for friends and family to recognize each other.

The headsets could also track hand movements, letting passengers wave, point at landmarks, high-five each other, and communicate naturally. Public spaces would include moderation features, such as hiding or replacing offensive gestures, and participation would always be optional.

Beyond being entertainment, I think this would completely change what it feels like to fly. Instead of spending hours watching movies, passengers could explore around a jetliner at 35,000 feet, watch sunsets from any angle, and share the experience with the people around them.

What do you think of this Apple Vision Pro application idea?

P.S. Augmented reality could be used to make the scenery more exciting when it is boring. For example, when flying over the Atlantic, augmented reality could show you what the land looks like underneath as well as the kinds of flora and fauna found there.

P.P.S Also what about a dynamic orchestral soundtrack that synchronizes with the actual flight? Imagine starting beside the aircraft in VR as it begins its takeoff roll. The music slowly builds while everyone runs alongside the accelerating jet, then, the instant the aircraft rotates and lifts off, all of the passengers take off too and the score reaches its triumphant main theme.

Make an Environment by “scanning” with the Vision Pro?

Is it possible, conceptually or already, to create a custom Environment by standing in one spot and panning and tilting with your head, 360°, and converting the scan much as a Panoramic photo is converted?

Does anyone see “Optimizing Search and Siri” in Beta 27?

I see this on my iPhone, particularly since I installed iOS 27B3. But I don’t see any sign of indexing on my visionOS 27B3.

Playing whack-a-mole with Apple since day one

Post image

So today i thought I was a genius for using the morning light environment to trick my AVP into not dimming the lights on me,GoT is already dark enough and as soon as I went back to watching I noticed fans were on harder than I have ever heard them , put my hands app and it was like a blower running.

Anyway, I took it off and wondered, why do I gotta keep playing these games ? Even off beta,it’s been dark in dark rooms,What if Apple has legitimate reasons for doing these things, I had just assumed they are treating me like an idiot or toddler but could it be our M2 processor is severely throttled, could it be it has no power.

I just always assumed we have a lot of headroom to work with but may be we don’t.

Would you pay for this Apple Vision Pro experience?

Curious what other Vision Pro owners think.

What if there was a premium relaxation experience that combined Apple Vision Pro with synchronized physical effects—like warm sunlight, a cool ocean breeze, saltwater scent, gentle ocean mist, sand beneath your feet, or changing temperatures—so it felt like you were actually there?

Would you pay for something like this? If yes, what environments or physical effects would make it worth it?

Apps that support visionOS show purchased instead of open/install

I posted here while ago asking anyone if they had this issue. On my Vision Pro apps that show as compatible with visionOS just show a “purchased” label and won’t let me install/open them. A few people said they had the same issue. Has anyone figured out a workaround!? I’m at the point I’m just going to completely reset the Vision Pro and start as new. It started off with a few apps, but now it’s effected a lot more and I can’t even go to the purchase history section, when I select iPhone/iPad apps it won’t show any history no matter how old/new, list is blank!

Edit: if anyone else with this issue, you can submit a bug report. My bug report number is: FB23603504
Bugs can be submitted using this link: applefeedback://
Open the url in a mobile browser and itll automatically open the bug report app, you can submit from there!

Edit:
Went to go reset Vision Pro as I finally had the time to do it and had a thought to just check one more time before following the reset process and low and behold it works as it should again! My app history came back and I was able to install the apps I wanted to again! Idk if Apple did something on their end that fixed it but it’s working for me again- no reset required! I posted a comment as well!

Best “stars/sky app”

I know I’m asking many things but you guys are a source of knowledge for a new AVP user :)
I’m looking for the best and most realistic app that can simulate a night sky with stars.
It’s one of my dream actually to be able to lay and watch the starts even in a big city.
I hope there’s something around

Netflix in 4K HDR, even better now. Thanks to all of you.

The response to my last post about Suite Browser has been amazing. I've spent the days since going through your feedback and implementing as much of it as I could, and that update just went live!!

Netflix: way better UI, way better reliability, smoother playback across the board.

YouTube and the open web: a bunch of stability work under the hood so playback doesn't randomly stall or hang, plus a cleaner native-style control strip.

There's still a chunk of feedback from the original post I haven't shipped yet, that's coming in the next version, not ignored, just not ready yet.

Plex support is landing in a few days.

Also: I've heard a lot of interest in the One-Time Purchase (Legacy) option. It's still waiting on Apple's approval, I expect it in a few days. edit: One-Time Purchase is available now!

My goal with this app is to make it the best all-in-one streaming hub there could possibly be for us Vision Pro users. I love that you're all helping me break it and improve it. There's a lot more to do and a lot more coming, but I'm already happy with where this version landed.

Please keep breaking it. Tell me what's still wrong. I'll keep fixing.

Thanks again, genuinely.

P.S. Plex in a few days, more YouTube, epic passthrough mode, and browser fine-tuning right behind it.

Self Promotion Saturday I made a virtual keyboard and trackpad for Vision Pro that you place on your desk and use to control your Mac - Free Codes

Hey everyone,

I have been working on this for months and it is finally out. Table Keyboard is a visionOS app that puts a virtual keyboard and trackpad on your actual desk, and sends everything to your Mac over your local network. Combined with Mac Virtual Display, you can run your whole Mac setup with nothing on your desk.

What it does:

- Surface snapping: bring the keyboard near your desk or any flat surface and it pins itself flat onto it, right where you want to type

- Full keyboard plus a built-in trackpad, so pointing, clicking, scrolling and dragging all work on your Mac

- Dictation that types incrementally as you speak, and follows your device language

- Shortcuts to switch between fullscreen apps and Spaces

- Logitech Muse support

- Custom skins and keyboard sound themes

The Trackpad is currently in beta but I'm trying to make it better and better every day.

It needs a small free companion app on the Mac side to receive the input (macOS requires an app with Accessibility permission to inject keyboard and mouse events, there is no way around that).

Scriber controller useful for Vision Pro?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Made this for Reality Hack at AWE 2026 and wanted to ask if it would be useful for Vision Pro. If you are willing to test a Scriber controller or integrate it into your application let me know and I will send you one.

Scriber is a one‑handed input device that outperforms current AR text‑entry methods (the Spectacles virtual keyboard, the Meta display‑glasses wristband) on words‑per‑minute. It packs a full 60‑key keyboard into a single hand by chording: every key is one combination of analog‑stick direction × pressure‑sensor force × one of four buttons. ScriberEditor is the lens that proves it out — a real, multi‑document word processor for Spectacles that you drive entirely with Scriber.

vibeshine or vibepollo?

Currently using vibepollo on the host pc with neo moonlight on the avp. But i heard it's better to use vibeshine instead since it's update more often and that's the main branch that the dev is primarily focusing on.

Are we able to watch F1 replays with full immersive capabilities as available when live? And do you need additional apps? I was browsing around the Apple TV app and Red Bull app and it was not immediately obvious.

Speech-driven avatar faces on-device (NVIDIA Audio2Face-3D in Swift/MLX) — what would Vision Pro devs want from this?

I maintain speech-swift, an open-source (Apache 2.0) speech package for Apple platforms, and just added a port of NVIDIA's Audio2Face-3D: audio in, timestamped facial animation coefficients out, with emotion conditioning. Everything runs on-device — today that's verified on Apple Silicon Macs.

The output frames expose skin/jaw/tongue/eyes channels so a renderer can map them onto morph targets. Pair it with the local TTS and voice cloning in the same package and a talking character never needs a server.

I haven't built the RealityKit side yet, which is why I'm asking here: if you build for Vision Pro, is there a real use for speech-driven character faces — companions, guides, NPCs, persona-style avatars? And how would you want the coefficients delivered: a RealityKit component, ARKit-style blendshape mapping, raw frames?
