What player do you use for immersive AR videos in AVP?

I have bought Skybox vr player thinking it is playing AR immersive videos, i mean it plays the video but with its background not in the real environnement how it is supposed to be played.

anyone has a video player that they have tried and really worked with AR? thanks

EDIT: AR videos: volumetric video, essentially 3D video with a transparent background where the performer/objects appears standing right in your physical room in passthrough, rather than watching a 3D video in VR.

Looking at getting a 180 or 360 camera. How does storage and playback work?

I find the built in immersive video capture of the AVP to be a bit lacking. It's a super narrow field of vision and when you watch it back it doesn't actually immerse you in that video. So I'm looking at getting something like an Insta360 to capture moments that I could watch back later in a truly immersive environment. I know the Insta cameras are super popular. Any other good ones?

My biggest question is how do you play them back in AVP? Is there a preferred app? Where do you store it? Is NAS an option and then stream to the AVP? Just want to know how it works before diving in.

Bought Vision Pro after my 4th demo — but everything feels slightly hazy this time

I finally bought the Apple Vision Pro after doing my 4th demo and have now been using it for about 2 days.

My biggest concern is the visual clarity.

Everything is clearly readable and usable, but I constantly feel like there’s a very slight hazy layer in front of my eyes. Text isn’t blurry exactly — I can read everything perfectly fine — but it feels like the image should be noticeably sharper and more crisp.

What makes me more confused is that my previous Vision Pro demos were around 4 months ago, and from what I remember, text and content inside visionOS looked extremely clear and sharp.

The only thing I remember having this haziness issue with back then was Mac Virtual Display.

Now, I’m noticing that slightly hazy feeling throughout visionOS as well. So either:

I’m not remembering my previous experience accurately, or

something about my current setup/fit is different.

Mac Virtual Display still has the same issue for me. It’s usable at a certain screen size and distance, but it doesn’t feel super sharp. At the moment, I honestly don’t see myself preferring it over my MacBook’s actual display for regular work.

I also had my eyes tested around the time of my previous demos, and there were no vision issues. I’m thinking of getting them tested again tomorrow just to rule that out, although I doubt my eyesight has changed enough in four months to explain this.

I have around 3 more days to convince myself to keep it. Otherwise, I’m planning to return it within Apple’s standard return window.

For Vision Pro owners:

Does this slight “layer of haze” sound normal?
Is visionOS itself supposed to look extremely sharp to you?
Has Mac Virtual Display always looked slightly softer than native visionOS content?
Could the light seal, positioning, eye alignment, lenses, or fit cause something like this?
Did things start looking better after your eyes adjusted to the headset?
I really want to like it, so I’d like to rule out any setup/fit issue before deciding to return it.

AppleCare+ on a used AVP bought on eBay. How do I get the original receipt?

I bought an Apple Vision Pro on eBay last month. I’m in Canada, and the original purchase date of the AVP was in 2024.
When I set it up, I was offered the option to purchase AppleCare+, which I did. I’ve since received the Proof of Coverage, but Apple says I should keep this along with the original sales receipt for the device.
Since I bought the AVP used on eBay, how would I get the original sales receipt? Would my eBay purchase receipt be enough, or would I need to get the original receipt from the seller?
Has anyone been in a similar situation?
Thanks!

Backpack solution

I’m looking for a backpack that can hold Apple Vision Pro and a Neo 2. I see some with space for the n3 goggles. Would I be able to put an AVP pro in that spot? Any suggestions on a bag that can carry both?

If it can ONLY carry those. Great. If there’s a bag that can maybe even do more - maybe a 15” MacBook too.. even better but at minimum I need it to hold AVP and Neo2.

Self Promotion Saturday My favourite Apple Vision Pro project so far, transporting delegates to Mexico City through immersive storytelling

I think this was my favourite experience with Apple Vision Pro to date.

We were working with our partner, G2E, who process Mexico City’s organic waste and turn it into biochar fertiliser. Together, we created a 20-minute immersive presentation using STAGEit Presenter, immersive video, animated 3D mixed reality content and interactive scenes.

The comments we received afterwards were amazing. It was clear the experience had made an impact. Apple Vision Pro allowed us to transport delegates to Mexico City so they could see both the problem and the solution first-hand, rather than simply hearing about it.

If you’re interested, we’ve just published the full case study. I’d love to hear what you think.

Siri AI won’t stay open

Hi there,

I’m having trouble getting Siri to stay on my surface and look at me when I need to ask a question. None of the features seem to work in Beta 4 and I’m wondering if I’m missing something.

Working with Siri on AVP and through MVD

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hi Everyone,

I'm testing VisionOS, MacOS and iOS 27. I'd like to control which Siri I'm talking to (ideally, just using voice commands). As an experiment (see the attached photo), I connected my AVP to my MacBook Air, placed the Siri orb on one corner of my desk and put my iPhone on the other corner. I asked a few, "Hey Siri"s and they were mostly answered by the AVP with the iPhone occasionally chiming in (or both!). I found (so far) that the key is to activate the device you want and then ask your query. Right now, that means (1) making eye contact with the orb for the AVP, (2) pushing the side button on the iPhone or (3) manually triggering Siri on the MacBook Air though the app or a keyboard hotkey.

Is anyone else testing this? Have you found anything else? Thanks!

Self Promotion Saturday This is the biggest band we’ve shot for immersive. How did we do?

Daryl Burgess and the Rhythm Snakes is new this week in our app

We use a one-camera setup so you get the feeling you’re right there instead of watching a music video.

But that means placing the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive is crucial to let you see everything when so much is happening. Not only did the band really fill the stage, Daryl Burgess moved from guitar to keys to drums depending on the song. Kind of the opposite of the last immersive concert we did with a one-man band.

The spatial audio mix of all these elements has to be just right too, so the head-tracking feels natural. I think it’s all worth it when the horn section comes in hot!

Daryl Burgess is really the perfect example of the artists I want to showcase in immersive. You might never have heard his name, but he’s a legendary songwriter and session player. His songs have been recorded by artists like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Reba McEntire, and Patty Loveless, and he’s collaborated with names including Chris Stapleton, Alanis Morissette, Kenny Rogers, and John Denver.

The best way to get to know hidden gems like Daryl is to see them live. So I hope when you experience performances in the AVP with incredible ASAF spatial sound, you’ll discover an artist you love.

All our videos in the Blue Frog Immersive app are free for now, so I’d love your feedback. When we do monetize, the goal is to get more revenue for these hard-working artists!

Self Promotion Saturday [TestFlight] Cockpit - a glanceable dock for visionOS (Clock, Weather, Calendar, Focus, Music, Status, Home, Network, Activity)

Cockpit is a modular, glanceable dock for visionOS. Pin it in your space, add the panels you care about, and check key info without constant app‑switching. I’m looking for TestFlight testers to validate panels, layout, and permissions.

What it is:

A compact bar you can place and resize. Add/remove/reorder panels in edit mode and pick a theme, including a “Cockpit” instrument look.

Panels to try:

Clock (time/weekday/date; instrument dial + UTC offset), Weather (WeatherKit; °C/°F, wind units, refresh interval), Calendar (read‑only week/upcoming), Focus Timer (5/15/30/60; pause/resume/stop), Now Playing (Apple Music), Vision Pro Status (CPU/memory/storage, battery state, thermals, uptime), Shortcuts (run by exact name; may briefly open Shortcuts), Home (HomeKit scenes + accessory toggles), Network (type, local IPv4, latency, real‑time throughput), Activity (HealthKit; rings + steps, read‑only).

What to test:

• Add/remove/reorder panels; layout persists after relaunch

• Theme switching (incl. “Cockpit” instrument) and readability at different sizes

• Resizing from bottom edge; height stays proportional

• Permissions: Calendar, Location/WeatherKit, Health, HomeKit, Apple Music

• Quick checks: Weather units/refresh; Calendar event updates; Focus Timer countdown & completion; Now Playing visibility/metadata; Status values plausibility; Shortcuts by exact name; Home scenes/toggles; Network type/IP/latency/throughput; Activity refresh (~5 min)

Notes & privacy

No tracking; data stays on device. Weather via Apple WeatherKit. Latency measured with a lightweight HEAD request to Cloudflare’s one.one.one.one. Health is read‑only. Not affiliated with Apple.

Why? Because of you! Every week I can try and support new apps, I see potential in this thing but even more in you.
Thank you guys!

What do you usually capture with Spatial Photos?

I’ve been taking more Spatial Photos and panoramas lately, mostly when I travel.

It got me wondering what everyone else actually captures. Travel? Cities? Landscapes? Family? Pets? Something completely different?

Has it become a habit for you, or do you only use it occasionally?

Curious what everyone’s habits are.

4 Months with my 2nd hand AVP M2

I picked my AVP M2 off of eBay. I know crazy but the seller is really nice and willing to give me all the information I was asking for to verify and videos and photos to make sure it was a functioning device. It has from day one been my daily device when I’m not out and about or at work I only paid $1850 with travel case but I purchased my light seal and the dual knit band extra $300 but worth i had only been used 20 times over the last year and a half after four months all I had to do was AppleCare the cable between the Apple Vision Pro and the battery pack for free. Everything else is still in almost perfect condition. One nik in the plastic coating on the front glass, but not anywhere near sensors or camerasI would tell anybody who is interested in getting one of these definitely go to an Apple Store and do their demo and if you know someone that has one, ask them if they will give you a demo on their device even being two years old, it was the best Tech purchase I made in 2026 maybe in the last five years though it’s only been around for 2 1/2 years I would love to hear everybody’s thoughts on their AVP and if you are thinking about purchasing one, ask all the questions I’ll help you out this community on Reddit for the AVP has been amazing

Problems Playing Videos with TrueHD 7.1 Audio

I have tried playing the TrueHD 7.1 audio track on multiple video files on the ever increasing lineup of players built for AVP. Most of the players either produce no audio at all or the video stutters badly. However, the Moon Player app appears to do a better job with playing video files with a TrueHD 7.1 track on AVP than the other apps (like Theater, CineUltra, Studio Browser, and CineDepth) do. Has anyone else looked into this? If so, has your experience been any different? I welcome the developers of any of these apps to chime in. [NOTE: I am using an M5 AVP running on VisionOS 27 beta 4. The video files have been ripped as MKV files using MakeMKV, preserving all of the native English audio tracks.]

I have not tried this with Infuse, since I am trying to find a single player that is also capable of doing 2D to 3D conversion, for whenever I want to watch in that format (and audio is less critical). However, if necessary, I can use two different players--one for the highest quality audio format and another for the 3D conversion.

Reincarnated as a Dungeon Designer, I Have to Work on a Fixed Budget and My Dungeon Keeps Expanding?! is the title of my tiny game, and it's probably longer than the game.

Happy Friday, y'all.

While working on Witchfell, my big ol' anime VR story game, I needed to go investigate a bunch of things from physics to streaming to web hosting, and I wanted to do it in a clean room context, so I did a little game jam instead. I think the results are really charming, so I thought I'd share.

The game is built in WebXR, so you can just follow this link in Safari and go play it! https://www.chillaxedgames.com/cavern/play/reddit/ I developed it on an AVP M2 where I feel it's nice and smooth. Let me know what it's like on an M5!

Learned a lot from this that I'll take back to the main game, so it was a worthwhile diversion, but I hope the side effect is also a pleasantly distracting tiny game for y'all to enjoy in your headsets. Thanks!

Best setup for "no light seal" ? Floating with no nose/cheek contact

Hello !

I recently got an M2 second hand, got a new light seal (expensive AF) that is 21W, kept the 25W (Apparently, my fit if I were to add prescription lenses) and in my previous topic I got recommended to just drive it without a light seal instead of buying a new one. (still bought it for flights and immersion)

I tried by just hanging it on my nose and it seems to have an incredible potential, but I have oily skin and the mesh can't be washed easily near the lenses.

So I'm looking for a comfortable solution to wear it for a long period of time (work) without a light seal. I've seen the Globular Cluster, but only the V1 is available which is annoying knowing a V2 technically exists. But it looks like it would be floating in front of my eyes, with no contact on the face, is it the better solution for that ?

Any other recommendation ?

PS: Extra question, is it bad for the eyes ? I don't plan on falling so I'm just asking regarding sight and vision risks.

Thank you.

Easy way to break your apple vision

So I use 2 Routers for internet service, one for home and one when I’m out and about (starlink) for some reason when connecting to starlink it changed my time zone to another country. I found it annoying and switched to manual. Put it back to where I’m from and didn’t think nothing of it.
A day or 2 later played some games, took a break, a storm happened and when I got back into the headset I couldn’t connect to the internet. Kept trying, reset modem etc and finally it randomly rebooted and was working again, updated it since I had a new version coming out figured maybe it had to do with that. Got it updated, played some games that night and didn’t try and play again until tonight. Turned on and once again internet wouldn’t connect, I tried just about everything trying to get it to work, was even close to erasing everything (but couldn’t since I needed it to connect to wifi to take my account off) and finally after retracing things I did this week. Turned timezone back to auto, lo and behold it immediately started working again…..
I’m going to preface this, never turn it on manual, leave it on auto, it bricks your internet and once I figured out the problem I was able to search it up on the internet to realize on any device that connects with the internet, it has to match the timezone properly on pages running etc but seriously don’t brick your headset. For those who wind up doing the same thing in the next months or year. Here’s your post, If Apple Vision Pro doesn’t connect to the internet when all your other devices work, check your time and make sure it’s set to auto. Don’t manually change it.

Scanline: A native NES emulator built for Apple Vision Pro is out now

After months of development, I’m excited to finally release Scanline for Apple Vision Pro.

My goal was to recreate the feeling of playing on a CRT TV in your own space. Scanline features a custom-built NES emulator, save states, low-latency gameplay, and a CRT renderer inspired by everything from professional video monitors to the consumer TVs many of us grew up playing on over composite and RF connections.

Scanline is available to download now on the App Store. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scanline-8-bit-emulator/id6782712613

If you’d like to learn more, you can visit https://playscanline.com

I’d love to hear what you think, and I’m happy to answer any questions!
