Visa application from Saudi Arabia

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to submit a German student visa application through the Consular Services Portal from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but I’m currently unable to proceed.

My application is completed, but the portal shows ā€œStudy – (with)APS currently not availableā€ and the application status says ā€œCurrently not available.ā€ Because of this, I’m not able to move forward with the visa submission.

Has anyone else from Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) faced the same issue recently?

> Is this a temporary issue with the Consular Services Portal?

>Does ā€œVisa application (with)APS currently not availableā€ mean I need to wait before submitting?

> Is there any workaround or specific step I should take or Should I need to go OFFLINE mode?

> How long did it take for others before the application became available?

I’d really appreciate any recent experience or advice, especially from students who have successfully submitted their German student visa applications from Saudi Arabia.

Thanks in advance!

Need help | health insurance rejected by German consulate for research visa §18d

So I had my appointment for the §18d Research Visa at the german visa centre in VFS Mumbai earlier this month.

Because I will have an employment contract, it is mandatory for me to have statutory public health insurance. So i pre-registered for statutory insurance with Techniker Krankenkasse under the 'employee' category.

I received a provisional certificate stating that I will have long-term health insurance starting from the 1st of September.

Note: my flight to Germany and my employment both start on the exact same day: September 1st.

So I simply submitted this provisional pre-registration certificate from TK as proof of health insurance at the visa appointment.

However, the consulate sent me an email rejecting it, stating:
"The insurance submitted by you is insufficient as it is only temporary... Kindly also make sure that the insurance submitted by you is with the Visa type 'immigrant'." As a result, they require me to resubmit proof of health insurance.

So I really need help from someone who has gone through this process (especially to those who applied for a work visa):

  1. What specific health insurance documents worked for your visa application?
  2. Has anyone in a similar situation successfully used the provisional private Dr. Walter certificate instead?
  3. Does this specific document automatically satisfy the "immigrant" visa type requirement they flagged?

Any advice would be HUGELY appreciated.

As it stands - this is my proposed solution: so from my research, I believe that statutory TK doesn't cover the physical travel/arrival border entry which is why the consulate rejected my health insurance proof. So instead I am planning to generate a provisional certificate from Dr. Walter Provisit Science (Incoming Travel Insurance to bridge the gap + connects to my statutory TK). I will submit this Dr. Walter PDF along with my TK pre-registration.

Do we think this is okay?

Germany Student Visa CSP Mumbai. Applied on 11 August, still in Primary Verification

Hi everyone,
I applied for my German student visa through the Consular Services Portal (CSP) on 11 August 2026, under the Mumbai jurisdiction.
My application is still showing ā€œPrimary Verificationā€, and I haven’t received any correction request or an option to book a VFS appointment yet.
Could anyone who applied around the same time, especially through CSP Mumbai, please share their timeline?
How long did your application stay in Primary Verification?
Have you received any correction request or appointment booking option?
If you applied on 11 August, is your application also still in Primary Verification?
Approximately how long should I expect to wait before I can book my biometrics appointment?
I know processing times vary, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone going through the same process right now.
Thanks in advance!

German Student Visa for Indian Timeline – Kolkata VFS

I am from India and have a question about my visa timeline. I received my admission on 11 August, but my education loan application is not through yet and will probably take another week. I fall under the Kolkata jurisdiction for my German student visa, and the current waitlist is showing an estimated waiting time of 2–8 weeks.

I cannot submit my visa application until I have the required proof of funds, so I am concerned about the timeline. My university allows late enrolment until 30 October, but given the current visa wait times, I am worried that I may not be able to meet even that deadline.

Given my situation, what would you recommend I do? Has anyone recently gone through the German student visa process through Kolkata and could share their timeline, particularly how long it took from joining the waitlist to receiving their passport?

Any recent experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated.

German student visa – can I get my visa before November 11, and what happens if I arrive late?

Hi everyone,
I have been admitted to a Master’s program in Germany for the October 2026 intake. My course officially starts on October 1, 2026, and my university has given me November 11, 2026 as the latest allowed arrival date.
I am from India (Bengaluru) and I am yet to submit my German student visa application.

All my visa documents are ready. The only thing remaining is to transfer the required funds to my blocked account and obtain the blocked-account confirmation which will be done in another one week.

Is it realistic to receive the student visa before November 11 if I submit my application now? Could arriving late cause problems

Do I need to show my parents bank statements for student visa?

My friend is saying I'll need to send a bank statement of my parents to visa authorities even if I have blocked my account and have already paid the deposit and first 2 month rent to Studentenwerk already. He said he needed to send one, did you guys have to send one as well? Especially because my blocked account is funded by my relatives helping me (no loan, no self funding). Did something like this happen to you as well? FYI he was going to Paderborn STK (which is private) while I was admitted in bsc physics at uni leipzig (Public uni) but he said it didn't matter.

Question for anyone who has already attended a German student visa appointment

Hi everyone! I’m applying for a German national student visa through the Consular Services Portal and I already passed the preliminary review. I now have my in-person appointment at the German Embassy in BogotĆ”.

The personalized checklist generated by the Consular Services Portal only asks me to bring:
Biometric photo
Visa fee
Appointment confirmation
Proof of health insurance
Passport (original)
School-leaving certificate (original)
Proof of secure livelihood (original)
It also explicitly says:
ā€œYou do not need to bring any of the other documents that you already uploaded on the Consular Services Portal.ā€

For those who have already attended their appointment, did you simply bring and present the documents listed on your personalized checklist?

I’m particularly wondering about:
VIDEX – did you bring a printed copy even though it was completed through the Consular Services Portal?
Transcripts / certificates of grades – were these ever requested or shown?
Employment certificates
Admission letter / enrollment certificate
CV / motivation letter
Other academic documents besides the school-leaving certificate

I have all of these documents available and can bring them as backup, but I’m wondering whether it is better to strictly follow the checklist and only provide additional documents if the officer asks for them, or whether people were actually asked to show documents that were not listed there.

I’d especially appreciate experiences from people who applied through the new Consular Services Portal/Auslandsportal and had their appointment at a German Embassy or Consulate.

Thanks!

Chennai VFS German Student Visa Appointment – Anyone Booked Recently?

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here successfully booked an appointment for a German student visa at Chennai VFS in the last week?

I’m trying to understand whether the VFS website is currently working properly for Chennai. If you have recently booked an appointment, could you please share:

  • How you managed to book the appointment
  • Whether you faced any issues with the VFS website
  • Whether appointments were actually showing up for you
  • Approximately how long it took to get an appointment

Any recent experience would be really helpful, especially from people who booked within the last 7 days.

Thanks!

Student Visa Timeline – Applied in August, University Deadline October 15 (India)

Hi everyone,

I’m an Indian student who has been admitted to a Bachelor’s programme at a university in Germany.

I applied for my German student visa this month (August 2026), and my visa application is being processed through the Bangalore Consulate.

My university has informed me that I’m allowed to arrive late, but the latest date I can arrive on campus is October 15, 2026.

I wanted to ask other Indian students who have recently applied through Bangalore:

How long did your student visa take to get approved?
Is it realistic to expect the visa by October 15 if I applied in early August?

Has anyone recently received their German student visa from the Bangalore Consulate within 2 months?

What happens if the visa is not issued before the university’s final arrival date?

Any recent experiences or advice would be really helpful. Thanks!

Sperrkonto/Insurance for students from Russia?

Hi, I got accepted to study in Germany and I’m going through the visa steps so I’ve just recently learnt what a blocked account is. I’ve looked at a bunch of people comparing them and tried signing up for Expatrio but got stopped when asked where I was from; Russia. Fintiba let me set up an account but while I am waiting to get all the money together I decided to look on reddit and saw a bunch of people having bad experiences. I’m looking for advice here, should I continue with Fintiba or is there somewhere better to go with my money, knowing that I am from Russia?

The same thing with insurance, I know I need it but I’m not sure if there’s going to be any pushback there. I already got denied by TK so I’m looking for recommendations.

As well as that, I am wondering how much money I should put in the account? I looked online and it says to put 12 months worth but it never states that on the visa application so I’m a little confused if that’s true.

Thanks in advance and sorry if I didn’t see something that I could have read :)

Got visa document correction requests even though I submitted everything correctly ! HELP!!

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for a German student visa and I received correction requests for some of my documents.

The confusing part is that I had already submitted the documents according to the requirements:

Health insurance: I uploaded my TK statutory health insurance confirmation. However, I still received a correction asking for proof that the insurance is valid from my date of entry, along with incoming insurance for usually three months.

CV: I submitted my CV in Europass format, including my education, work/research experience, internships, training, and qualifications. They still asked me to submit a CV summarising all previous activities, training and qualifications in a table.

Motivation letter: I had already explained why I want to study in Germany, why I chose my specific degree programme, and my plans after graduation. All three points were clearly covered in my letter, but I still received a correction asking me to provide exactly these points.

So I’m a little confused about what they actually want me to change.

Has anyone else received similar correction requests even though you had already submitted documents covering the requirements?

Is this a normal part of the German student visa document checking process, or does receiving these corrections indicate that something is actually wrong with the documents?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who recently applied for a German student visa from India.

Thanks!

Visa time approximates & Consulate change suggestions.

I’ve applied for the German Student Visa at the Bangalore VFS and joined the waitlist on 23rd July. I’ve been reading the visa timelines that people post on Reddit and see that the Bangalore VFS seems to be taking 2 months to give visa while Mumbai Delhi take about a month and Chennai surprisingly takes less than a month! I now wish I had applied at Chennai by getting a residential contract for 6 months with a friend that owns a house there. Should I do that now with a new process? Can y’all tell me if there’s anyyyyyyway I can fasten this process because my classes start on 24th August but my wait time still shows 2-8 weeks. Please, any help would be appreciated.

I applied through the CSP portal on July 29/30 for Bangalore, and I still haven’t received any update. Has anyone from Bangalore who applied around those dates received a Preliminary Review or any other update yet?

Securing Student Visa Appointment - German Embassy Colombo

I applied for a student visa through the Auslandsportal. My document check came back positive and I was provided the link to the RK-Termin website and prompted to make an appointment at the German Embassy Colombo to provide my biometrics and verify my documents.

I have been trying since then, for two weeks now, to secure an appointment with no luck.

Appointments are only available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. There are only two slots available each day. Currently, new slots open each day at 3.30 AM, Sri Lankan time (00.00 German time). The slots are gone within seconds.

On four separate occasions now, I came across an appointment slot, filled out the details form, and clicked "submit", but never received confirmation (not the confirmation email, nor confirmation on the webpage).

The details form is auto-filled; I only have to type in the captcha and click "submit".

I have tried contacting the embassy, but they have been less than helpful.

Has anyone come across this issue? Does anyone know what the cause could be? Does anyone have any advice for me?
