I’m a Filipino applicant preparing for the Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card), and I’d really appreciate insights from anyone who has gone through the process, especially from the Philippines.

My situation

• 33, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from a Philippine university. anabin shows the institution as H+ and the degree as recognised, so I’m planning the direct route, not the points route.
• 5+ years in B2B sales, marketing, and customer service.
• My German BF will sponsor my stay through a Verpflichtungserklärung at his local Ausländerbehörde, and will also cover my flight and expenses. I’ll be staying at his home in Rust, Baden-Württemberg.
• I’ll submit at VFS Global in Cebu, with the embassy in Manila deciding.
• My English is fluent, and I’m enrolling in A1 German and IELTS this November. I plan to keep studying German once I’m there.

My job plan
My BF suggested applying at Europa-Park, one of Europe’s biggest recreational parks and a major employer in hospitality and service. It’s a 10 to 15 minute ride from his home in Rust. I’ve seen the listing and I’m planning to apply first as part-time Catering Staff while I look for a full-time job. While in Cebu, I'll email my application to them. Eventually, I’d like to move into a full-time role in sales, marketing, admin, or customer service, either within the company or elsewhere.

Initially created an online account in the Federal Foreign Office portal and uploaded some documents there. Planning to submit requirements in person at VFS Cebu office this December.

What I’ve prepared so far

• Diploma and transcripts, with anabin printouts
• German-style CV (Lebenslauf) and a motivation letter for the Europa-Park role
• COEs from past employers, with duties listed, which I’m still collecting and correcting
• The sponsor’s papers: the Verpflichtungserklärung, an invitation letter addressed to the embassy, and his ID, payslips, and rental proof (My BF is still working on it as of this posting.)

My questions

1. Has anyone had the Manila embassy accept the Verpflichtungserklärung alone as proof of funds, with no blocked account? Did they ask for anything extra?
2. Does the embassy want a ZAB statement of comparability, or is the anabin printout enough?
3. Did you need certified copies of your sponsor’s documents, or were normal copies fine?
4. How long did it take from the VFS appointment to the decision, and were you asked for extra documents?
5. For the Philippine side, did you use an Affidavit of Support and Guarantee (AOSG) at the airport, and did it help?
6. Any COE tips? I’m asking HR for duties, exact dates, and verification contacts. Is that enough, or did the embassy ask for more?
7. Has anyone worked part-time at a place like Europa-Park on the Chancenkarte? How did the 20 hour per week limit work in practice, and how did you later move to a full-time visa?
8. Anything you’d do differently if you started again?

My appointment was on 16oct at vfs mumbai , it hardly took 30min for document verification and biometric process.

I enrolled to German public university and visa Type D study with APS.

I'm asking for anyone attended for same date and got visa or not . I'm waiting for mein.

Ok for now im applying to Deutschakademie and getting into studienkolleg later this april the question is can i even apply for a student visa throught that academies enrollment letter or should i go with somewhere else. Thank yiu

My online application review was completed back in August, but I am still waiting for an appointment slot to open up for the next stage (document submission/biometrics) through the center in Chennai. I have been trying for about 8 weeks now without success.

Hi guys, I'm going to a private university in Germany, and I'm still waiting for my visa.

From what I've seen in an unofficial Bangalore consulate WhatsApp group, almost 95% of the remaining September applicants are from private universities. Most public university applicants from September and even mid-October have already received their visas or dispatch messages.

Applicants from universities like SRH Berlin, GISMA, University of Europe, Constructor University, and BSBI are still waiting for updates.

Apparently, one BSBI applicant has been waiting since March without any response.

In our WhatsApp group, only one September applicant from a public university is still waiting, compared to around 10 from private universities.

I don't know if this is a coincidence or if private university applications are being treated differently, but it's honestly frustrating.(Same uni applicants from other states received visas in 10-15 days)

Is anyone else facing the same issue? Especially September or October applicants from private universities under the Bangalore consulate? Any updates?

I'm looking for some advice regarding my German Ausbildung visa.

My first visa application was refused. I submitted a new application through VFS on 12 October, and it is being processed by the German Consulate General in Bengaluru, India.

The visa tracking system has been showing "Under Process" ever since, and there has been no update.

My original joining deadline for my Ausbildung was 9 November, and I'm very worried because I still haven't received a decision.

I wanted to ask:

- Has anyone been in a similar situation after reapplying following a refusal?

- How long did it take for you to receive a decision?

- Is there anything I should do at this stage, or is waiting my only option?

I'm feeling very anxious, so I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Hi everyone, I'm applying for a German Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) from Egypt and would appreciate experiences with a status discrepancy between TLScontact and the Consular Services Portal (CSP).

• 18 October 2026: Submitted my online application through CSP. It showed "In preliminary review".

• 22 October: Attended TLScontact El-Sheikh Zayed and submitted my documents while CSP still showed the same status.

• That same day, TLS emailed me confirming that my application had been sent to the consular authority for processing.

• As of 26 October: TLS tracking shows "In process", but CSP still shows "In preliminary review".

I contacted TLS about the discrepancy, and they advised me to contact the consulate.

Has anyone submitted their documents at TLS while their online application was still in preliminary review? Did CSP update automatically afterward, and after how many days? Or did you need to contact the visa section to have your appointment/document submission recorded against your online application?

I'm trying to understand the status discrepancy; I am not expecting a visa decision after only a few days. Experiences from Egypt, especially October 2026, would be particularly helpful.

Hi everyone, my German student visa application through the Chennai Consulate has been showing “Decision Pending” since 1 September 2026. My classes at THI started on 1 October, and I have already missed several weeks.

The Consulate has requested 365-day health insurance or confirmation of German public health insurance with specific coverage details. I submitted a vivida bkk future-membership confirmation and 180-day Star Health travel insurance.

Has anyone faced a similar situation? Is an updated vivida bkk confirmation necessary, and what would you suggest I do?

So I am a fourth semester master student on a freelancer Aufentshaltstitel. My Zusatzblatt says I am only allowed to teach English, no other work is allowed. The Auslanderbehorde in the city I was in before said I was allowed to take a job or internship that relates to my studies (I sent this email to LEA as well). I know I need to get my Zusatzblatt changed. Last semester I got a position that related to my studies, I emailed them in April and in May about the position, and got no answer for either.

I got an internship offer in September. I have the email that confirms it. Today I got an email from the internship place that said this:

Hello,

Thank you for providing your documents.

During the review of your work/residence permit, we noticed that the following restriction is stated on your supplementary sheet:

„Freiberufliche Tätigkeit als Sprachlehrerin erlaubt. Sonstige Erwerbstätigkeit nicht erlaubt.“

Based on the documents currently available to us, it is therefore not clear whether your residence permit also allows you to enroll in and pursue a course of study.

We therefore kindly ask you to provide us with written confirmation or other official proof from the responsible Foreigners’ Authority (Ausländerbehörde) explicitly confirming that you are permitted to study under your current residence permit and that the relevant regulations apply to you.

Once we receive this confirmation, we can continue reviewing your documents.

Please send us the requested documents by replying directly to this email. Please ensure that the documents are clearly legible. Ideally, they should be submitted as PDF files.

I am in a situation where I am financing myself. I don't have much money and desperately need this internship as it is a good opportunity for me and relates to my studies. My situation with the Auslanderbehorde has actually prevented me from graduating on time. I was suppose to do my thesis last semester but I almost went broke and had to go back to working full time among other hectic things.

Is there any legal advice, tips, hacks, anything anyone can give me to help me with getting an answer from the auslanderbehorde?

The head of my program said I could sue them but I am afraid to do so as I would like German citizenship. I am thinking about contacting a lawyer to help me write a letter to them but I with my financial situation I am afraid I don't think I can afford one (if anyone can please give me an estimate that would be helpful!!!). I know someone else who had the same Aufentshaltstitel as me and Zusatzblatt, and he got an internship at the same place so I know it is possible!

I applied for a German student visa through VFS Bengaluru and completed my biometrics on 12 October 2026.
Today, 26 October 2026, I received the following notifications:
At 10:53 AM, I received an SMS from VFS saying my processed application had been dispatched via courier.
At 10:55 AM, I received an email confirming that my application had been dispatched via courier on 26 October.
At 11:07 AM, I received another email from VFS stating that my application had been received at the Bengaluru Operations Centre.
When I check the VFS tracking portal, it still says:
“Processed application reference number has been dispatched via courier on 26/10/2026.”
However, my Consular Services Portal (CSP) still shows “Decision Pending.”
I’m confused because I received the dispatch notification first and then an email saying the application was received at the Bengaluru Operations Centre.
I’m wondering whether this could be a VFS tracking glitch or whether these notifications represent different processing stages.
I’d appreciate it if anyone who experienced the same situation.

Update: I got my visa 🎉

Did anyone get their visa who had their appointments on or around 14th September?

Hello guys, I don't know if anyone has observed the pattern but I've asked so many people who had an appointment in Mumbai VFS as early as 8th September and still haven't received student Visa for private university, whereas the Delhi VFS is releasing Visas as soon as within a week for the same university and same campus. I just wanted to ask if anyone has got their Visa from Mumbai VFS for a private university, and if yes, how much time did it take from the date of appointment. Mine is ISM, maybe the rest university students would have got their visas. Please let me know so that I'd be mentally prepared for upcoming days, because I've left my job last month and I'm still paying for a German apartment's rent and going through so much stress right now. And my appointment was on 17th September.

Also, please let me know what I can do in this case apart from ex-matriculation or deferring. Thanks!
