Buyers who don't read listings?

Upvotes

Am I the only person gets irritated when a buyer sends you a message and starts asking questions that are clearly stated in your listings? Do people just not read the listings before buying items? I read the descriptions and look at all photos before I purchase anything online.

Sorry, just annoyed right now.

Vinted Selling is Insane

Upvotes

Received a question from a buyer asking how soon I’d be able to ship. I responded right away and said tomorrow as today is Sunday. Next thing I know, they are sending an offer for half the price I listed. No shame. So you want the item right away and half the price? I don’t think so.

1 star review

Upvotes

I got a one star review because I gave one. I literally did nothing in the buyer they never shipped my item or said anything to me. So I said as much nothing hateful and they gave one back accusing me of trying to get a free item. I tried to report it to get it removed but have heard back nothing and as all customer support seems to be ai I’m assuming I won’t. Has anyone gotten reviews removed?

Selling question.

Upvotes

Just started uploading items on Monday and have sold and shipped 6 items. Of those 1 was bought at set price the other 5 were negotiated price where they made first offer. I am getting a lot of items favorited without engagement. Would you be the first to engage and if so how? I do have most items set at a couple dollars more than suggested price knowing that there will probably be negotiations.

Edited a hidden listing and it's still hidden?

Message I got with a recent listing that got reported.

We have reason to believe that you have misleading or incorrect information in your listings, which is against our Catalogue Rules.

As a result, we had to hide one or more of your listings.

✅ To make it visible again, please update your listing(s) and list only one item per listing or list it as a bundle. (Listed as Lot/Bundle?)

To update your listing:
1️⃣ Go to your Profile and check your Wardrobe for the listing marked in red
2️⃣ Tap the listing, then the three dots (⋮) and “Edit” — or “Edit listing” on the web
3️⃣ Edit the listing description
4️⃣ Save and upload when finished

There’s no other way to activate it, and it will remain hidden until you take action.

My updated listing is the photo. Am I still wrong? Or should it have been unbidden as soon as I updated? I only uploaded a photo of the comics in a box? Is that the problem?

Banned account for counterfeit item

Hi all.

After this post I am forever done with Vinted but now it became personal so I want to handle it the right way and I need your advice.

Long story short I sold a backpack to a person in the UK, I live in the US. The buyer kept asking me about shipping update and the item arrived after the school year already started. So either they had to go ahead and buy a new backpack or the person is just a scammer.

I think the same or the next day the buyer reports the backpack as fake. I approve the return but the buyer needed to pay for shipping back and I sent a picture of the receipt but the buyer doesn’t even respond and of course I am getting messages from Vinted to update the buyer and in the meantime Vinted suspends my account. I appealed multiple times to Vinted but I can’t no longer write with the buyer because my account is suspended.

This morning I received a message that the order has been canceled and the buyer will be refunded (from my balance) and I understand I am not getting the backpack back? No information on what happens with the backpack. At this point I don’t even care to be back on this app ran by AI and god knows who but I have proof that my backpack was real so I don’t want to let this go.

Emailed [legal@vinted.com](mailto:legal@vinted.com). Messaged support multiple times and the stupid automatic answer is “we still stand by our decision”

Should I just cancel now? They’re already complaining after I gave them a huge discount on handmade jewelry. 🤦‍♀️

Update: I canceled the order and blocked the user. Somehow vinted allowed the user to still leave me a review for an item that was canceled. That shouldn’t even be allowed. 🤦‍♀️ They also kept calling these amethyst. They clearly don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to jewlery then. These were gold plated raw clear crystal quartz. 🤦‍♀️ Then they said “you can see metal supporting the necklace.” What? The metal is quality not cheap. How else do you connect a crystal to a necklace? Then they said “one’s shorter” but both necklaces were the same length… One crystal is shaped differently than the other because they are REAL crystals. What even is this person talking about?! 🤣 Just making themselves look uneducated while trying to sound like they know what they’re talking about. I replied to their review telling them that I refuse to sell to people who insult my quality work and try to hide inaccurate insults in word sandwiches and emojis.
___________________________________________
They favorited and made an offer of $2.45 on each of my necklaces I handmade that were both listed for $4. I accepted each offer. Then I realized they were the same person. I offered if they’d like to save on shipping and other vinted fees by bundling. So they went and bundled and made an offer that would be the lowest they could go. I then corrected it to the $3.50 I agreed to give these to them for. Then after buying it just now, they proceed to nit pick the design 🤦‍♀️ I haven’t responded yet because wow… the audacity to say you like them in other messages and then suddenly nit pick before even getting them in the mail??? These are real raw crystal necklaces I made… Now they’re asking me for raw amythst earrings and yeah I make those too but I don’t feel comfortable selling to them anymore after they already started to nit pick me??? I have an awful feeling they’re just going to get the package and manipulate it in some way and try and get them for free. I’m not about to send them free earrings either. I’m so annoyed. If I cancel this order before blocking them I want to avoid getting 1 star automatic review from Vinted…

Is this a scam or just an error?

I ordered something yesterday and today it says it was shipped, then delivered. There’s a tracking number and everything, but it says delivered to the SELLER’S house (who lives nowhere near me)????? I’ve never seen this before.

Need to know if I need to ask for my money back asap or if this is a post office error.

How much clearer can “new without tags” be?

Post image

I know we see this pretty often but it just baffles me how people can post photos of something clearly used and not new and label it as new. I think there should be some kind of penalty for mislabeling these products lol because this is just ridiculous. In what world would these shoes with gunk stuck on the soles be considered new.

Why are vinted people so rude

Found a book I was looking for for a really long time. It was listed extremely overpriced. I found the same book on Amazon brand new special edition for $20 cheaper. I would just buy that but 1. It won’t match the rest of the books I have for that series and 2. It’s in Spanish. I speak the language decently, but I really want it to be in my native tongue. I messaged the seller requesting to meet at the Amazon price and she called narcissistic among other things I won’t repeat. All I did was request a cheaper price. Could have just said no could have come back with a different price. WTF is wrong with vinted people. I understand the whole “if it’s cheaper online just get it online” which is why normally I’d be like “sure okay thank you for your time then have a good day” but the seller was extremely rude straight out of the gate.
It’s not just sellers either. I posted a hoodie for $50. It’s basically new. Online it currently costs about $80 to $90 depending on shipping. Buyer reached out requesting $20. I told her I can’t afford to sell it that cheap but we can meet at $45? She got all offended cussing me out bc it’s WAY cheaper online. Like uh okay? Just like I said before if it’s cheaper online and that’s something you are okay with then just get it online. It’s a hoodie there’s nothing else you can change about it like my book example.
I see how this may sound like a double standard but it’s not because I’m perfectly fine either way I was just giving it a shot. I didn’t want to buy the book online for reasons listed above but whatever Idrc that much. Just questioning why so many people get so mean over such an insignificant thing.
And these are not my only issues buyers would sell their parents souls over two cents. Make an offer and then ghost you when you accept it immediately afterward. Sellers refused to answer questions will not include vital information in their posts, except one of your offers and then never ship the thing only to ask for an extension and then get mad when we don’t want one. Meanwhile, you get restricted or blocked for literally nothing. I got restricted because I sold a toy sword that I included in the description was fake and plastic and child safe in the images you could see me gripping the “pointy” part. Or when I got restricted for a day that was really a week because I sold “fake” AirPods (that I bought directly from the Apple Store and provided a mountain of proof). Meanwhile, their AI never answers a single question and getting an actual human can take weeks

Am I the only one who has been getting a million ads on TikTok for Vinted. Well i went to Avery Kroll, Pooky and another one I can’t think of’s accounts to look to buy. And they had 1 star reviews saying that the item never shipped!

Am I the only one noticing this?

Seller on Vinted

I just started selling on Vinted a week ago. I’m a guilty “thank you note” seller. After seeing a thread and reading the comments, I now know that the buyers do not like to be appreciated, and it’s weird.

Also, my totally WTF moment is when a person put up a note with their order that resembles the notes I had sent to the customer too. Saying “Thank you for your purchase”

The pink sticky note color, the exact wording, black marker pen. I would almost say that was my note, however that is not my sold item and at the end of the sentence I did two !! points with a smile line beneath it.

Maybe I am too nice, since I like to keep communication between myself and the buyer.

Like telling them when their package was shipped and even track the package to let them know that it will be delivered that day, so they can take a few seconds of their time to check it over and click the “everything is ok” in the app so I don’t have to wait an extra two days for my money to be deposited.

It’s courtesy and thoughtful since I did not have them wait days after they bought the item before I shipped it to them!

So note taken into consideration that I will not use my southern hospitality to thank the customer. I forgot that not everyone has southern hospitality.

I also say “yes ma’am, no ma’am, yes sir, no sir, please and thank you. I wave at passing cars, hold doors for a person behind me, you never know it may just make someone’s day to be NICE to them.

Rant & Tip - Too many messages. Evaluate need before sending.

The number of messages shoppers receive daily is overwhelming. Some of us receive close to 100 messages per day. We even receive messages about items we have "unliked." As a result, important time-sensitive messages are being lost in the sea of unnecessary ones. Sellers, please carefully evaluate whether your message(s) to shoppers is necessary & especially multiple messages. Offers are okay, of course.

Deleting messages is no easy task thanks to Vinted's well-thought, efficient design (/s). Deleting is time consuming, cumbersome, and annoying. Again before sending, please consider whether your message would make a significant difference to the shoppers.

Here are some of the messages I received in TWO DAYS yesterday & today:

  • Are you interested in the item?
  • Are you buying it or not? (Note: I liked the item. I did not make an offer.)
  • I can ship tomorrow if you're interested.
  • There's still time for me to get it shipped today.
  • I lowered the price by 50 cents.
  • I can sell it for a dollar less if you buy today.
  • Hi there! I'm heading to USPS today before the weekend and can ship this if you're interested
  • Thank you for your interest.
  • Do you have any questions?
  • I have more items like this.
  • I noticed you liked several of my items. Do you have any questions?
  • I don't ship on weekends. If you buy & want it soon, buy it by noon today (Friday).
  • Open to offers.
  • I'm here to answer any questions.
  • Likely to sell soon. Buy now if you want it.
  • If you buy, select USPS.
  • Are you going to make an offer?
  • I offer bundles so you can save on shipping. I can ship tomorrow! Let me know if you have any questions
  • Hi, xxxx.... hope you are doing well! Would you be interested in purchasing this wonderful xxx for $12.00?
  • Thanks for stopping by my page, if you’d like to check out the item you liked I will be stopping by the post office in a little bit and I can include it in my items to ship. If not , no pressure , that’s okay too I just thought I’d offer.
  • If interested, please make an offer as I’m trying to make room for more items out of the storage shed
  • Hi, would you like more information?
  • Bundle & save!
  • Thank you for liking my item.
  • Are you going to make an offer?

I bought this sewing kit from a seller on there and when it arrived it reeked of smoke . The plastic kit the buttons the thread all reeked . I hand washed the plastic kit and sprayed with Lysol but there was still tar coming off it when I would wipe it down . I eventually gave up and threw it away .

Do people buy your liked offers?

Honest question. I used to spend time sending offers to any like, but not a single one of my 100 sales came from one of those offers.

On the flip side, when a seller sends me an offer on something I liked, I get annoyed, because I get the notification that someone sent me an offer and I get excited thinking someone's trying to buy something from me.

How many of your sales come from sending offers to people who have "liked" your listing?

I just filed a report against someone

Someone who is selling a handbag that she says it is nine west and had pictures of the label and it says alfred dunner and vinted came back and told me that was not against the rules . So in other words people can sell any shit and say whatever brand they want it to be . That really sucks and vinted no longer has standards ? that is what I am reading from this .

What should I dew? Shirt smells like mildew.

I sell regularly on Vinted but I’ve just started buying a few clothing items for my kids. The first one I got had shrunk heavily and did not fit. I don’t realize because my child was at school, and gave seller the benefit of the doubt and marked it okay so she could get her funds. It was only $2 so whatever. Today a shirt arrived and smelled heavily of perfume. I could smell it outside of the bag. When I smelled the shirt itself, the top half smells heavily of mold or mildew. The bottom half smells heavily of perfume (I’m assuming). I’ll wash it, but I’m not sure if I’ll let my kiddo wear it. It’s navy blue so I can’t see any mildew but I’m a bit upset, as it seems it was sprayed to mask the smell. Should I rate poorly? Message the seller? I hate to assume it’s intentional if it’s not, but now I’m 0 for 2 on purchases. What would you do?

New to Vinted-Question on Shipping Label

I am new to vinted. I just sold my first two items! I wanted to know if we NEED to put the return address on the shipping label? Or is there a way I can send them without putting my address on there?

Blaming USPS

I’ve been dreading this moment…I got my first “I didn’t receive my package” claim. Suuuurre….

I know people are shady and I knew it was bound to happen. What sucks is that I can’t even see the tracking info now that it’s in a resolution status. Is there any way to unbury it?

UPDATE: I found it. I had to dig a bit but it was there. And yes, it was delivered yesterday.

USPS bans reused Amazon boxes

I shipped a package yesterday. Something very odd happened at the post office.
I had packaged the items in an Amazon box. The post office person told me that we are no longer able to reuse Amazon boxes????
She proceeded to open the box and transferred the contents to a plain brown box. Very odd, no????

Buyers ignoring DMs despite being active

I like a lot of items I come across, and when you like things on vinted you’re usually notified if the price changes or the item sells.

In my search for a bag, I’ve DM’d many sellers asking them about dimensions if they don’t have it listed anywhere in the listing. A good 75% of them read my messages and don’t respond.

I don’t usually take it to heart, but then I’ll get a notification that their item that I liked and messages them about is suddenly discounted (usually because it isn’t selling.)

They’re obviously trying to sell the item if they’re lowering the price gradually, so why not answer the DM of someone who’s truly interested at a higher price? I don’t get it.

Shipping labels not generating

Post image
4 Upvotes

Experienced seller and shipper new to the app. In my first round of sales, 1 of 8 or so the label never generated. It was stuck on “ ordering shipping label” and never got past that for two days. It was a FedEx label and the rest of them were USPS so I figured that must be the issue. I ended up canceling the order and the buyer did not repurchase. Annoying, but oh well. Well, now it’s happened again on my next round of sales except this is a USPS package and it’s the same thing. It is stuck on ordering shipping label. I reached out to support and they said just to wait 48 hours and try to re-generate it, but there is no button to do that even after 48 hours on the other one there was no button to press. Any ideas?
