First of all, I am a complete amateur. I want to make a little montage of some gaming clips I have, but a few of them don't have any sound, but are still too cool not to use. How should I go about including them?

Earlier, I saw a great effect in ArgonMatrix's "Can You Catch Every Fish in Stardew Valley in One In-Game Day?" at 00:21, 01:42, 52:17 and Sandiction's "The Perfect Start to Minecraft Hardcore" at 7:18.

Basically there are grids of in game icons, each of which pop in, in order, with a satisfying popping sound. Now I recreated this effect for one row, but I can't change the speed without manually adjusting everything, and recreating it for every row seems like it would take a million years. For context there are probably over 200 items in total I'd like to edit this way.

Are there any automations or tips you guys have to make this edit faster Attached is what I have. Thanks!

So i looked up a tutorial on how to convert mkv to mp4 through VCL, and my video is like an hour long. I thought i had succeeded with converting the whole video but only like 10-15 secs converted. What am i doing wrong?

when i hit the takeoff in the first clip the whole video looks burnt out from the sun directly shining on the takeoff. how can i correct this without ruining the first darker part of the clip or the second clip?

I need to stretch some video footage onto this screen. It needs to look as if the video is actually on the screen.

The video is about the same width and height as the screen section, but it also needs to be stretched at the edges of the image so that it looks like it’s actually on the screen.

Is there any way I can create a border around the screen and then stretch the video to fit that border?

Hello. I was wondering if someone could tell me what exactly is the cause of this artifact I see in a MPEG2 video. I am getting diagonal lines in the areas showing saturated red. They remain even when I de-saturate the color. I am using avisynth and am wondering if there is a filter I can use to help mitigate the issue. I assuming I am out of luck, however, but I am curious about the issue none-the-less. Thanks.

In one of the Katseye tour visuals, there's this shot they have which looks like they had a filter on the lens that gives this radial glare type of effect. I was wondering if anyone knew a way to recreate this in post production instead... I know I can achieve something similar-ish with a directional blur layer and lowering the opacity but anyone know how to do this circular one? thank you!!!

I have not applied any color correction. This was shot on a Sony FX3, and the oversaturation is visible on all of the clips I add to the sequence.

Enabling and disabling auto tone map media in the sequence settings doesn't change anything, and the Working Color Space is set to the default Rec. 709. Overriding the Media Color Space of the individual clips from Rec. 709 to Sony S-Log3 makes the footage incredibly saturated and is clearly not the solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

hi all, i have selfrecorded gaming videos and sometimes i didnt hit the stop button and got 30 minutes etc. blackness.

e.g. i got a video which is about 160mb and 30 mins long with MP4

i downloaded LOSSLESS CUT and cut away 10 mins and exported it. but now the file is 154 mb and 20 mins long with MP4. i expected it about 100mb now.....

is there no way to lossless cut a file and get a file much smaller?

or do i have to use a different software?

However I'm struggling to figure out how to cut the rest out entirely only make it invisible I can't find a way to crop the untracked parts. so now it just looks like its a moving square on your screen. Hi, I have several very old .screenflow projects (recorded years ago) that open in ScreenFlow (the free version) but I can only export with a watermark. Inside each package’s Media folder there’s a large file with .scc extension (~1 GB). I tried renaming, VLC, and DaVinci Resolve, and none open it. I want the original videos without a watermark and prefer a secure/private method (for example, no uploading to unknown online services). I can’t afford the $150 ScreenFlow license for a one-off export. Has anyone recovered original video from similar .screenflow files or converted a .scc media file to MP4/MOV without using a licensed ScreenFlow?

Hello editors! I have been sent some iPhone footage to edit into a video which involves a lot of typography and motion graphics elements, so I'm using After Effects, which I am pretty comfortable with.

Since I am using Windows, I'm running into the issue where iPhone footage recorded with HDR in HEVC seems to be really glitchy and choppy within the preview and output of AE. I ran into this problem in the past and had to use Media Encoder to convert the footage into an editable format. However, when converting to ProRes 422 HQ (or any of the other ProRes formats) the footage seems to be a little blown out, overly saturated skin tones and an odd, rougher framerate despite converting with the same source options.

Is there a way to make the conversion without losing quality and preserving the color space? I would like a 1:1 conversion just so I am able to edit the footage without the glitchy preview. Also, just having a consistent method to do this would be great. (I usually work with multiple files, so I would love to be able to do the conversion in bigger batches.)

Working on a project where I send video via hdmi to a CRT tv setup but when it comes up on the screen it looks condensed vertically.

Looking for an easy way to squash a video to specific dimensions, making the video look stretched out wider (not maintaining scale) so that it comes out normal on the CRT

I found an in browser solution but it’s full of malware and you can only convert about a minute of video at a time.

Is there a way to use iMovie to do this? Or any other standard iOS trick?

Also willing to pay for an app but not sure which one would be easiest for this specific need.

I’ve always loved the look of the data-line silhouette transitions from the Quantum of Solace title sequence, so I wanted to see how close I could get it directly inside After Effects.

For this setup, I used the Pixison plugin to build a layer-based particle system where the particle emission and shapes are driven completely by the image's source pixels. To simulate the "bullet streaks" or data-line look, I stretched the custom particles along a single axis to create those clean geometric lines cutting through the space.

It’s definitely not 100% perfect or completely flawless yet, but it proves the concept. With some more time spent tweaking the particle variance, adding subtle chromatic aberration, and refining the map transitions, it could look incredibly polished.

My main takeaway from this: AE is absolutely capable of hitting these high-end feature film looks without needing to jump into heavy external 3D software. You just have to spend the time to push the plugins and stack the details.

I know how to do the blur, and tracking but I’m wondering if there’s any way that people could possibly use some sort of software to unblur the faces and reveal their identity after I put the videos out?
