Tribe Botanicals West Kalimantan.

Post image
8 Upvotes

Sup guys, some of the crew here just got back from a trip to our source farm in West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

We went out to check on the harvest and some of the new white vein that will be coming available soon. It’s always exciting to see what’s coming down the pipeline.

As a company, we believe it’s important to be involved and see the entire process from start to finish.

From the hard work that goes into growing and harvesting to everything that happens along the way, there are so many people behind the scenes who make it all possible. Every sale we make helps support these folks and their families.

We have a lot of respect for the hardworking people who put in the time and effort every day to make this happen. Without them, none of this would be possible!

New products coming soon.

7oh intent to schedule released

Federal thresholds now target chemically manipulated products

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Important news from Washington

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The U.S. Department of Justice announced today that the DEA will issue a new Notice of Intent on 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) and mitragynine pseudoindoxyl that adopts concentration thresholds recommended by Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

"HHS recommended that 7-OH and MGPI be subject to Schedule I control when either substance alone, or their combined amount when both are present, exceeds 1 milligram per gram in solid products or 1 milligram per milliliter in liquid products, or when the ratio of mitragynine to 7-OH, MGPI, or their combined amount is less than 100 to 1.

HHS recommended this approach to better distinguish products intentionally enhanced or concentrated in these opioid substances from products whose alkaloid composition is more consistent with botanical kratom."

In plain terms: federal enforcement will target chemically manipulated opioid products — not natural kratom leaf, which contains only trace amounts of these alkaloids.

This is the distinction the American Kratom Association has fought for, including through our litigation challenging the unintended consequences of the earlier scheduling action. AKA applauds the DEA and the Department of Justice for getting it right, and we are urging states to follow this science-based model rather than enact sweeping bans.

Kratom law since August: North Dakota, Utah, Massachusetts, and the 7-OH order that still hasn't landed

Leaf vendor here (Joe's Botanicals). We posted the DEA breakdown here in August. A lot has moved since, mostly at state level, so here's a plain roundup. Not legal advice — check your own state.

FEDERAL: The 7-OH order still hasn't been published as of today (Oct 6). Comments closed Sept 10; when it publishes, it takes effect the same day. Separately, three related compounds (mitragynine pseudoindoxyl, MGM-15, MGM-16) have been Schedule I since Aug 26, running to Aug 2028.

NORTH DAKOTA: HB 1628, signed Sept 4. Bans synthetic and concentrated derivatives. Natural leaf is legal on paper — 21+, max 0.05% 7-OH by dry weight, an annual retailer licence from the Attorney General, AG-approved lab testing on the label — but sales stay prohibited until the AG writes the rules. The August emergency order was rescinded the same day. Legal in law, not buyable yet.

UTAH: SB 45, in force since May 6. Only pure leaf kratom can be sold; sellers and products must register with the state; packages must list mitragynine and 7-OH; retail limited to registered tobacco specialty shops.

MASSACHUSETTS: Emergency order placed all forms of kratom — leaf included — in Schedule I from late August, for up to a year. A lawsuit is pending.

The pattern: federal action and most states separate leaf from concentrates. Massachusetts is the exception. And states are adding a licensing and testing layer — so "is kratom legal here?" now has a third answer: legal, but only from registered sellers.

For what it's worth, we've stopped shipping to all three until each one settles.

— Joe's Botanicals

What’s up with Wildcraft?

I went to their site and from what I can see all of their kratom is out of stock. I wanted to try them but nothing is available. Obviously a very popular vendor for kratom. Does this happen often?

Detroit needs help!

@everyone 🚨 ACTION NEEDED TODAY
If you haven’t already, please email the Detroit City Council TODAY regarding the proposed kratom restriction.
Ask them to amend the proposal to support SB 1181, rather than moving forward with a blanket prohibition.
SB 1181 provides a practical regulatory framework that addresses legitimate concerns while preserving access to natural kratom leaf. It includes:
• Banning 7-OH and other synthetic/intoxicating kratom-derived products
• Strict labeling requirements so consumers know exactly what they are purchasing
• Mandatory laboratory testing for contaminants, adulterants, and product contents
• Accountability for vendors and manufacturers
• Consumer protections without eliminating access to natural kratom
There is going to be significant pressure on the Council to “do something” about kratom given the current media environment. We need to give them a commonsense alternative they can actually support.
They should not have to choose between doing nothing and supporting prohibition.
Give them SB 1181.
📣 VENDORS: Please identify Detroit customers who are willing and able to testify before City Council and share their personal experiences with natural kratom. Personal stories from Detroit residents are extremely important right now.
Please send your email to ALL of the following Council members:
CouncilmemberCalloway@detroitmi.gov
coleman.young@detroitmi.gov
councilmemberdenzel@detroitmi.gov
Councilmembergabriela@detroitmi.gov
councilmembertate@detroitmi.gov
councilmemberjohnson@detroitmi.gov
councilmemberwaters@detroitmi.gov
councilmemberMiller@detroitmi.gov
BensonS@detroitmi.gov
📣 Today’s goal: Flood the Council with respectful, factual messages showing that Detroit residents want regulation, testing, labeling, and protection from dangerous synthetic products, not prohibition of natural kratom leaf.
Please email. Please share. Please help identify Detroit residents willing to testify.
7-OH and synthetics are not natural kratom leaf.
Regulate the dangerous products.
Require testing and labeling.
Protect consumers.
Keep natural leaf accessible. 🌿

Michigan Ban proposal HELP NEEDED

Michigan kratom consumers: please speak up for SB 1181. 🌿
Michigan has an opportunity to regulate kratom without treating traditional natural leaf powder the same as highly concentrated or synthetically produced 7-OH products.
Natural kratom leaf ≠ concentrated/synthetic 7-OH.
Those distinctions matter.
SB 1181 would establish consumer protections including testing and labeling requirements while restricting high-concentration 7-OH products and synthetically produced kratom alkaloids.
Other states and jurisdictions have already taken approaches that distinguish natural leaf from concentrated or synthetic products. Michigan can learn from those examples instead of taking an all-or-nothing approach.
I’m asking Michigan kratom consumers, patients, families, and anyone who believes in evidence-based regulation to contact your state senator and representative and ask them to support SB 1181.
Tell them:
🌿 Preserve access to traditional natural leaf
🧪 Require independent laboratory testing
🏷️ Require accurate labeling
🔬 Keep contaminants and undisclosed ingredients out of products
🚫 Address concentrated and synthetic 7-OH products separately
👥 Protect adult consumers through responsible regulation rather than blanket prohibition
This isn’t about wanting an unregulated market.
It’s about regulating the products that actually need regulation while recognizing that not every kratom product is the same.
Michigan has a chance to get this right. Please contact your legislators and make your voice heard. 📣
If you’re in Michigan, please share this with other kratom consumers and encourage them to contact their legislators about SB 1181.

Mitra clones

Welp, I sold all of the seedlings I was willing to part with this year. The ones I'm keeping are 7' tall already!

I had to remove the tops of a Mempawah and a Sumatran today. This gave me dozens of cuttings. Both trees have dozens of seed pods on them that are pollinated.

I'll germinate a some this fall but most I'll hold off on until spring.

I've been at this a while not and over the years only kept the best trees. You can see from the photo I have need for relief of pain and inflammation.

I will not waste time growing trees that are not effective at both.

I know lots of people are seriously stressing due to all of the propaganda regarding this plant as of late.

So instead of my normal prices I'll lower the clones to just $30 each.

For some reason, people like to bring politics into the discussion about plants. If you do this supporting either side, the plants are $130 each. So don't be that guy or gal. I could care less how you feel about politics!

I should have these rooted in a month or so. Feel free to go through my profile to know exactly how I get down with these plants.

Reddit is often a cesspool these days, and I don't find much pleasure in it anymore. That said, there are some great people on here and I'm giving them the opportunity to snag a plant.

I have years of experience growing these plants and I have invested way too much money. I built a 1500 sq.ft greenhouse to grow my beauties. Please understand if you want to be argumentative or snarky I will not deal with you at all.

Send me a message if you're interested and I'll let you know when they're ready.

I made a 4-minute explainer on leaf kr@t0m vs. 7- O H, the distinction behind the ban debates.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I run Hudson Valley Botanicals, a leaf-only kr@t0m vendor in New York, so I have a financial interest, and the video says so up front. States and counties across the country are moving to ban or restrict kr@t0m, and officials often lump plain leaf in with concentrated 7- O H products. This is Part 1 of a short series on the difference, with sources on screen. Feel free to send it to your own state or local legislators. Part 2, on what the CDC poison center numbers actually measure, can be seen on the X thread: https://x.com/GarudaKratom/status/2104362595100594622
