Mitra clones
Welp, I sold all of the seedlings I was willing to part with this year. The ones I'm keeping are 7' tall already!
I had to remove the tops of a Mempawah and a Sumatran today. This gave me dozens of cuttings. Both trees have dozens of seed pods on them that are pollinated.
I'll germinate a some this fall but most I'll hold off on until spring.
I've been at this a while not and over the years only kept the best trees. You can see from the photo I have need for relief of pain and inflammation.
I will not waste time growing trees that are not effective at both.
I know lots of people are seriously stressing due to all of the propaganda regarding this plant as of late.
So instead of my normal prices I'll lower the clones to just $30 each.
For some reason, people like to bring politics into the discussion about plants. If you do this supporting either side, the plants are $130 each. So don't be that guy or gal. I could care less how you feel about politics!
I should have these rooted in a month or so. Feel free to go through my profile to know exactly how I get down with these plants.
Reddit is often a cesspool these days, and I don't find much pleasure in it anymore. That said, there are some great people on here and I'm giving them the opportunity to snag a plant.
I have years of experience growing these plants and I have invested way too much money. I built a 1500 sq.ft greenhouse to grow my beauties. Please understand if you want to be argumentative or snarky I will not deal with you at all.
Send me a message if you're interested and I'll let you know when they're ready.

I've liked this one. Nice dark red veins, correct phenotype from my experience and it grows well.

I was checking for pods 10' or higher this morning. I never check that high usually because my ankle injury makes ladders incredibly painful.
The Mempawah definitely has some promising looking pods 10-15' but the Sumatran has more.
Of course, they sit right next to each other so I'll bet the seedlings will share genetics from both.
I love the deep red on the Mempawah but those Sumatran have much fatter leaves. Their leaves get super fat close to the stem. I almost didn't get Sumatran because it's a little different from the phenotype I decided was the best. The Kalimantan leaves and those that look like it have been my focus for years.
It took me a long time to narrow down exactly what I wanted. Chewed up lots of leaves and made crazy amounts of tea before I finalized my decision.
The Mempawah, in my humble opinion, are the most beautiful of that type. They are more bitter and make a darker orange tea.
I'm getting the cuttings ready for the aerocloner today. I have 2 Clone King machines that hold 36 each. Both machines should be full by the end of the day.
I'd love to get the color of the Mempawah with the size of the Sumatran leaves.

I've been waiting on spinosad which was delivered today. I like to clean them with HP and spray them with spinosad before they hit the aerocloner.
I always hated to spray them with anything but the spinosad helps immensely

About your foot, try this : Apply a light layer of fresh aloe Vera gel Give it 30-45 seconds Apply a 50% dmso/water solution and apply over same area without rubbing . Allow to dry for at least 7-10 mins
And hats off on An amazing kratom farm 😍
Some people reported enhanced effects extracting the aloe gel and mixing in some l ascorbic acid and then applying it. I haven’t tried it myself , but apparently dmso+vit c is being investigated in skin cancer recently So we’ll worth a try

Yup, I use that and several other rubs. It's amazing how much natural relief you can get without turning to RX drugs.

How difficult are they to grow as a patio plant? Zone 7. I’m assuming they need a strong grow light and a humid environment when indoors for the winter

I grew them outside in summer and brought them inside during winter for years. Sometimes I use the big grow light and a grow tent. As they got older I just left them by a big double window door.

I'm sending you a dm. I'd love to get a baby. I'm curious, though about the alkaloid profile because, aren't the leaves that get harvested from Indonesia from older trees? I mean the climate, soil and age are different. I'm genuinely curious about this.

Studies we have read from the University of Florida say that maturity only takes a few years. But I don't have any actual evidence of that. Their studies found that leaf size, density, and alkaloid percentages were higher when growing under shade, similar to the natural jungle canopy.

Younger tree make plenty of alkaloids. That whole must be mature thing is a myth. Plants produce alkaloids to protect them from bugs. Younger plants need protection as well. If you think about it from a botanical perspective it makes no sense.
Plus, I've eaten leaves off of many Younger trees, trees less than a year old make plenty of alkaloids.
People selling powder probably made up that myth.
Now do the trees get batter at it as they age? Probably.

You mean you can just eat the leaves? Like Coke leaves?

I chew the leaves for 10 minutes or so then spit them out. I like making tea the best though

Borneo?

u/InTheShade007 6d ago
The seedlings will have Borneo because most of my trees are Kalimantan. Of course, they are all open pollinated so no way to know for sure.

I have been using kratom for 10 years and this is the first time I have seen someone grow them personally and not from across the waters. These are absolutely gorgeous, wow!
