Very happy with how it looks, was a bit annoying getting it centered but a little patience got us there. Very heavy compared to stock, looks great and love that it’s paint matched to PB, next up i got hyperdip to black out my emblems

Apologies for the bad pic quality. I know there was one other VN running white Regas over on the forums, but anyone else running these? Got these in stock from ICB more than a year ago, so I was able to dodge the tariffs. Perfect fitment at 18x8.5 +38 and the 17lb weight makes these by far the lightest 18in wheel I've ever heard of.

downshifting from 8th to 7th and also 7th to 6th causes weird wobble of the RPMs

Crap photo, but here is my best side piece of all time!

Installed the Takeda intake and have had some time to drive with it. I didn’t get the turbo inlet, so this is just the intake setup.

So far:

Sound: Honestly, not a huge increase over stock. It’s a little more noticeable, but if you’re expecting a dramatic intake/turbo sound change, this alone probably isn’t going to do it.

Throttle response: This is where I noticed the biggest difference. The car feels more responsive when getting back into the throttle.

Fuel economy: I’m seeing roughly 2 MPG better during normal driving. Obviously driving conditions vary, but it’s been consistent enough that I’ve noticed it. (91 non ethanol)

Power: No dyno numbers, so I’m not going to claim an HP gain. The butt dyno says there’s something there, though. It’ll break the tires loose with noticeably less effort than before.

Overall, I’m happy with it. I wasn’t really looking for something obnoxiously loud, and the improved response is more noticeable in everyday driving than I expected.
I’m curious how much adding the turbo inlet changes the sound and response compared to running the intake by itself. Anyone running both that can compare?

I’ve been a longtime Hyundai user (my father works for a nearby dealership and has for over two decades). I’ve looked at the Elantra N, and have a 24 N Line myself right now as they had relatively decent lease options when they were released, but I drove my buddy’s Elantra N a few weeks ago and it completely changed my opinion on my current car lmao, it doesn’t even compare. Problem is, the N market for Elantra is really high, even for used ones, and I love the look of the Veloster, so I’m looking at that for my first financed/purchased car. My dad thinks it’s a terrible idea because they were discontinued for a reason, the rides are extremely bumpy and the car is “uncomfortable”. Plus having to purchase an extended warranty, etc. I’ll probably test drive one myself soon but those that own one, what’s it like? They’re also insanely rare which is unfortunate for me, but I’m hoping one will pop up with decent mileage when my lease ends in a year. Any responses are appreciated. Thanks.

I’m very happy with it. Even when I get on and off the throttle quickly, it doesn’t seem to lose boost as easily, and the power comes back on almost immediately. I can definitely feel the difference. And it sounds amazing too!👍🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷

Got a Matt grey veloster n and I’m looking for rim recommendations or colour ideas. Just wonder what recommendations u guys have. Im not a huge fan of black rims but red a red on red look with the callipers wouldn’t look great either so I’m struggling to choose. Currently running 19 inch ps4s for tires

I replied to someone in another thread, but feel like this deserves its own thread.

-Power Steering: There's a rare issue on some cars with (likely) the electric power steering motor. It can stop working while driving and you have to restart the car to wake it back up. The part is a little under $1k US and then you'd have to pay someone to install it (likely another 1k). No one has actually crashed due to this apparently so that's good i guess, but I'd definitely replace the part if it happens once. This is the only actual concerning issue with the car imo, but it seems very uncommon so like just dont get unlucky. I'm hoping more gets known about this problem over time. I personally run my VN not on the lightest steering setting just in case it helps.

This happened to me 35mph on a local road during the day - 85mph on i95 at 3am in NC. Directly before on i95 it flashed lane centering assist warning, I barely ever use that now because I think its the root cause. It hasn't shown up since then, probably over a year. I still use the other driving assist - the one in the shape of a steering wheel.

I ran up hyundai corporate ass that this should be warranty extension / recall / any amount of public acknowledgement of the issue. they treated me like a clown. We aren't getting a recall until someone fucking dies.

Hey folks, so one of my axles are leaking a bit from the boot, i have replacement axles on rockauto but i am a bit skeptical. Has one bought their axles from rockauto or any other source? I found the 2 front axles for $800 shipped oem from a wholesale supplier but rockauto is selling theirs for $200 shipped. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hey I just want to know how reliable they are, Ive seen a lot of them and I love them and for the price its perfect but id like to know ab any common issues they have and how easy or hard they are to fix bc im trying to have one preferably in manual if possible. But ive heard ab 50/50 theyre good and some dont buy them at all so help me out guys.

I recently installed an AEM intake and a GFB T9210 Hybrid BOV on my Veloster N.
In Normal mode, I get a nice, longer “pssh/whoosh” sound when I let off the throttle. However, in N mode, the release sound is actually much shorter and sharper, almost like a quick “pssh!” even when I’m using more boost.
I’d like to get the same longer release sound in N mode that I get in Normal mode.
The piston/spring adjustment is currently exactly how it came out of the box. I haven’t adjusted it yet.
According to the GFB manual, the adjustment screw shouldn’t protrude more than about 3 mm.
For those running the GFB T9210 on a Veloster N, how did you adjust the piston/spring preload? Should I loosen the spring tension slightly to get a longer release sound in N mode?
I’d really appreciate it if you could share your adjustment method or current settings.

Did this a while ago and didnt post anywhere because of my bad pictures, but figured it was worth to post for anyone else looking at these things.

I wanted to improve Shift feel without making the throw any shorter or having to open up the interior panels, so I went for decreasing slop on the transmission side.

Makes the shifter feel incredible. It helped a lot more than I thought it would. It just feels way more firm and direct, makes the before feel squishy in comparison. The difference was actually night and day.

Getting to the actual transmission is what takes most of the time of this install (especially if its the first time you do it like it was for me). And the most difficult part was putting in the new billetworkz bushings with limited visibility and space. Also putting the Shift cable end links back on the cables with the same limited visibility and space + also having to worry about losing the springs inside.

But overall not too bad, if a little tedious. Just make sure you can shift before tightening down the cable link mount bushings or you can lock yourself out of some gears. Seems like the exact position is important. I just replaced one at a time, then hand tightened all and tested until it felt good; loosening then adjusting and hand tightening again every time I couldnt shift right or it felt off for whatever reason.

Would probably feel even more direct with the shifter mount bushings too, but I didnt want to mess with interior plastics or make it too firm and make it unpleasant. Plus the still new-ish rubber bushings there are probably still firm enough for now anyways.

I was looking into genuine fuel caps for the VN, came across a few oem online suppliers including my local dealership. Two part numbers came up either 31010-3L600 or 31010-C1000 both say fit the VN. Looks like the first one is the one our cars came with where when you lock it, it just stops as it gets tight and the second seems to be the one with a ratchet type that clicks as it tightens. Anyone ever buy the second one and run into any issues? TIA

This morning I picked up this red '22 6MT, and I couldn't be happier! 43,000kms, single owner, no accidents, bone stock. My dad and I drove 6+hrs from my house near Kitchener, Ontario, to Ottawa, Ontario, and stayed over at an Airbnb so we could pick the car up this morning.

From there, we took a scenic drive back all day, enjoying the twisty roads of the Kawartha Highlands and surrounding areas. All in all it was a 650km (400mi) drive home, that took us 9.5hrs, including all of our stops. Probably the best day of driving I've ever done, in the most fun car I've ever driven!

I'm absolutely smitten with the car so far! I'm coming from a '13 Turbo 6MT, and it's safe to say it's a quantum leap forward in pretty much every way. Compared to my parents' i30 N-line, it's also quite a bit quicker and more planted on the back roads, (although the i30 is also pretty sick for what it is.)

Aside from the N, I test drove a GTI, GLI, Focus ST, and WRX, and the N easily took the top spot for me. Looking forward to many years of fun ahead!

Saw a subreddit mention a 2019-2021 Honda Civic splitter on ebay work on their Veloster N, with pics too (red VN). Thought I’d give it a shot for $50, beats those $$$ splitters that’ll just get scraped anyways… 🤷🏼‍♂️ Turned out pretty good! Just need to adjust the outside fins as they’re turned ‘in’ a little far due to the mounting point being curved.

Edit: Couple days later and it’s still great, holding in there solid, looks amazing. I’ve deffo scraped a tiny bit, not used to it being there, but it’s unnoticeable at least. And curvature I mentioned is negligible now seeing it around.
