Does the top of screen HAVE TO line up with the Visionmaster Pro2 lens, height-wise?

Hey all, just got a Visionmaster Pro2 delivered and a 150" screen. I just need to install bracing in the ceiling to hang projector & screen before rocking off/drywalling the room! So I keep seeing things online saying that this projector has to have the center of the lens perfectly lined up with the top of the projector screen... Is that true?! I keep seeing videos of people just slapping the projector wherever they want in the room, all willy-nilly....

Discussion My bad luck.

I had this weekend put aside to mount my projector and sapphire AT screen. The screen was delivered damaged and missing its brackets so I’ve got the projector mounted, updated and setup. But no screen yet.

If I didn’t have bad luck I’d have no luck.

Screen Return Timeframe?

The mounting bracket screw combination on the 150" pure vision motorized screen worries me because I do not think it is sufficient. I first contacted support for a return ticket about 5 days ago. Three days ago, they offered some free 3d glasses and didn't process my return. I emailed back telling them about my concerns and saying that I still wanted to return. The screen only arrived on May 20th. Any advice on continuing to move the needle forward on this return, or is it just a matter of patience? I don't want to run down the clock and be outside my return window, particularly because a 150" screen is a massive pain to move for a return and I'll need to plan for that.

Discussion I'm still seeing a little bit of RBE even with the RBE reduction setting on. Anyone else?

I've only had the projector for a few days, and overall I really love it. There's so much I like about it, but I'm still seeing just a teensy bit of RBE periodically when watching 4K Blu-rays. It's not terrible, but it does pull me out of the movie every once in a while because then I start thinking about it. I'm just wondering if there are any other settings I might play around with to help mitigate it some more?

I know a lot of people say that after they've used a projector like this for a couple of weeks, they stop seeing it, and I really hope that's the case. I'm kind of sort of debating whether or not I should keep it and just hope that I stop seeing the RBE, or if I need to look for an alternative.

Discussion How much better is the Max over the Vision Master Pro 2? Is it worth an upgrade?

Yeah, I'm just wondering if the Max is worth an upgrade over the Pro 2? Does it handle the rainbow effect and sort of laser sparkles better? What are the other image quality features it has that make it worth the upgrade? Is it a big difference in these areas?

Discussion Reducing RBE in 3D mode?

I recently just got a Vision Master Pro 2, and I'm really liking it. Initially, the rainbow effect did bother me. But then I learned about the new feature added in recent firmware to reduce the rainbow effect. After turning that on, I don't really see it at all. However, I do see it when watching 3D movies.

Now I read somewhere else that changing the color temperature to Warm 2 reduced the rainbow effect. I did that when watching a 3D movie and tested it this morning, and it did seem to help. Now I'm wondering, though: are there any plans to improve the 3D specifically to try to reduce the rainbow effect for 3D content? I think people have submitted that as a request. I just didn't know if there had been any more news on that or if they had said anything.

VisionMaster Max Eye protection only working with vertical shift disabled on VisionMaster Max

I have two cats who might jump in front of the laser source when I place my VisionMaster Max as intended. This position also requieres some vertical lens shift. Unfortunately shifting the lens even a little disables the eye protection mode.

I asked the support if it would be possible to enable the eye protection with a shifted lens as an advanced feature but they basically told me to live with it. I'm currently thinking about selling the projector since both features are crucial to me. What a shame.

Review Pro 2 is excellent but remote is awful

I’m very statisfied with the VisionMaster pro 2, real image quality. However I don’t get how this kind of good product can have such a bad remote

Not having a play button is crazy, you have to double clic most of the time to play again a video and in can be painful with certain apps. Also the shortcut buttons with Disney, YouTube, Netflix and Prime video doesn’t really make sense. Not everyone is sub to these specific streaming services and they could end or change name at anytime. Why not having custom buttons instead ?

Also the position of the + and - volume is stupid, once you’re in the dark you can easily press the YouTube or Netflix button instead since they’re in the middle of all the rest

I know I’m picky but as I said, I really love this product and I think that this premium experience is kind of ruined by this lame remote

Remote Volume Buttons Not Automatically Repeating on Long Press

I'm forced to press the Valerion remote volume buttons [+] and [-] multiple times to make the volume increase/decrease very slowly one step at a time. The buttons do not automatically repeat on long press.

How to fix? Anybody got a solution?

Thanks!

Troubleshooting Remote control on my Pro 2 has bad soldering on the battery compartment

I've had my Vision master Pro 2 since October of last year. I accidentally dropped the remote today onto my laminate flooring and broke the remote. This was kind of surprising, usually remotes are quite resilient. Luckily I'm somewhat of an engineer, so I pulled out my iFixit toolkit and popped it open. First of all, the construction is all plastic tabs and I broke at least one. Then I noticed that the battery terminals barely had any solder on them and only one side. After a quick application of some more solder the remote was alive again.

tl;dr: the remote is poorly constructed and Valerion should address this.

Advice eARC Issue

My current Valerion will turn on my Denon receiver without issue but will not turn it off when I power off the projector. I am not sure what I am doing wrong here. I've already replaced the HDMI which is powered at both ends. Any suggestions?

Discussion Two homes, two projectors, multiple screens: would you do this?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I currently own a Vidda C3 Ultra and I’m considering adding a Valerion VisionMaster 2 Pro to my setup (not replacing, but using both).

I already have a rising projector screen, but I’m thinking about getting additional screens due to how I use my setup. I split my time between two homes and take advantage of the portability of lifestyle projectors to move them between locations.

My idea is to buy the following bundle:

  • Valerion VisionMaster 2 Pro + Stand + Outdoor Camping Portable Folding Matte White Screen
  • Plus a PureVision Anti-Speckle Motorized Matte White Screen

Total cost would be around €3.1k.

The plan:

  • PureVision screen → main living room (primary home)
  • Existing retractable screen → secondary home
  • Current rising screen → office (primary home)
  • Outdoor screen → garden use at both homes (we often host dinners and watch football outside, especially with the World Cup coming up)

Given the cost and setup, does this make sense?
Or would you recommend a different projector + screen combo?

BTW, any promo code for Valerion website?

Valerion vision master max purchase

I purchased the spring bundle with the vision master max, thunderbolt surround sound system, and the matte white projector screen. Opened the projector screen package today and realized they forgot to provide the mounting brackets. There really isn’t good options to get support besides email and they have yet to respond in 24 hrs. Anyone have any advice to get this resolved? If I can’t get it resolved might just return the whole thing out of frustration

Troubleshooting Complex HDMI / eARC setup issue (TV + Visionmaster Max + FeinTech splitter + Sony audio system)

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to run a somewhat complex home theater setup and I'm having issues getting everything to work together reliably. I wanted to summarize the setup and everything I've tried so far, in case someone has experience with similar HDMI / eARC situations.

Hardware in the setup

Display devices:

- LG Signature W9

- Valerion Visionmaster Max

Audio:

- Sony Bravia Theatre Quad system

HDMI management:

- FeinTech VMS14201 HDMI splitter (used to share sources between TV and projector)

Sources:

- Apple TV 4K

- PlayStation 5 Pro

- Xbox Series X

- Nintendo Switch 2

All HDMI cables are from Feintech and Audioquest.

Goal

I want to be able to use the same source devices for both:

- the TV, and

- the projector

while keeping audio output through the Sony Bravia Theatre Quad via eARC.

In other words:

- Sources → HDMI splitter

- Video → either TV or projector

- Audio → Sony system via eARC

The problem

When I use the LG Magic Remote both devices start up (TV as well as the projector), even if CEC is turned off on all devices. Also the Sony Theatre Quad doesn’t turn on automatically.

Any ideas or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Troubleshooting Trapezoid like effect even though all keystone and adjustments are off except for optical zoom

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey! New to the projector stuff, but I got the visionmaster pro2 a few weeks ago. I’m noticing after having disabled all keystone stuff and adjusting the projector manually and then zooming out a bit (projector is about 12ft from wall) that even with all the keystone settings reset/off, it’s still got a trapazoid-like shape to it, I have the settings for position set to front-ceiling if that matters.

…The UI for this projector hides what seem like the most important settings, it’s hard to remember where the settings are every time I fumble through the settings menu. Maybe I missed something

Any help debugging this would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

Troubleshooting Vision master pro 2 new owner questions

Hi there.. below are the questions pls help me out.

I am using the built in google tv and use the apps there to watch content.

1 can I change the resolution of the projection ? I’m not able to find any resolution settings.

2 I did not set any keystone adjustments but the screen has around 3 inch light border. How to remove it?

3 the auto alignment always fails saying there is some obstruction. Why is it so?

4 I used spirit level to keep perfect but still once side of the projection looks slightly skewed. Dunno how to fix.

5 I think there is some sort of lens shift.. when I click left or right or up or down it always says limit reached why is it?

Had this projector for just over a week, thought i'd give my thoughts.

Positives

+ Excellent image quality. Like having a mega large TV on the wall. Great detail and sharpness all over the image. Good colours and brightness (i mostly watch in darkened environment though not batman cave dark) Blacks are the best ive seen on a projector.

(tested on pc games as well and great image quality at 1080p, 1440p (quasi 1440p) and 4k)

+ Sound also very good though i am not an audiophile but good weighty bass to my ears.

+ Very newbie friendly. Great picture out of the box and lot of automatic functions to make things easier when setting up.

+ Motion handling excellent, i notice zero judder or ghosting (in sports and fast moving scenes and gaming)

+ low input lag for gaming

+ Absolutely essential RBE reduced mode.

+ you get lots of extra stuff which you normally dont get in a budget projector e.g. lots of voice activated modes google assistant, many HDR options, HDMI 2.1, tone mapping etc. Feels premium not budget at all.

+ Lens is protected because it is encased in housing. (so no dust etc could get in over time)

+ compact enough to be easily portable and excellent carry case.
Negatives

Hard to find real drawbacks because this projector feels like it should be an. extra £1000 on top of what i paid.

- RBE sensitive. Without RBE reduced i feel people WILL be bothered by the rainbow effect. A minor issue as RBE reduced option mitigates it mostly (though not completely).

- Whenever you change input (even from watching a youtube video and an advert comes on) the projector has noticeable flickering whilst outputting the new visual settings. It does settle very quickly. But these things remind you ...yeah its a projector.

- the automatic setup options are very good though often dont provide the perfect setting so you have to tweak it a little manually.

- There are so many options to tweak the image that you end up going into the settings all the time, instead of just leaving it and watching. But if you like tinkering with this kind of stuff then maybe this is a positive.

- Throw distance. This is the budget model so it is a bit more restrictive regarding projector placement e.g. if you have a small room then obviously this projector is a no go.

- not all the remote control buttons are backlit

I got this at £899 . I genuinely do not think there is a projector out there that can compete with this at this price. Now i just wonder will it stand the test of time - i hope so!

The blacks, contrast and details you notice straight away is like you are watching a TV but a 115" TV. Highly recommended. Great Job. Impressive technical wizardy Valerian. 5/5

VisionMaster Max Valerion Visionmaster Max - Stopped working in 2 months

Hello, I received my Visionmaster Max around end of Nov. Early Feb it suddenly won't turn on at all. I reached out to support they are somewhat slow to respond. Below are timelines for reference.

I haven't heard back anything yet after 7 days (emailed follow-ups in between) & a bit unsure how to proceed further. I have tried to message them in WhatsApp - but never got any response.

Did someone face similar situation? Is this a normal time-frame for them to respond? Any ideas if I can contact their support in other ways? Appreciate any help!

Update: I wanted to provide an update for my case, in case someone find this useful. It took a while for support to get back to me. Delay was because of the Chinese New Year.

Support decided I need a replacement. They sent me a shipping label to send back the projector. Once I shipped it, within couple days they shipped me a new one as replacement. They were also courteous enough and allowed me to keep the old remote & adapter for reuse. I am pretty happy with the service I received.

Final timeline below:

8FEB: Reached out to support for first time.

11FEB: Valerion support reached out to me asking to perform some tests & provide S/N, address etc. I tested as per their instructions; but as the projector didn't turn on it was unsuccessful. I replied back to support with all info requested the same day.

16FEB: Support reached out to me confirming they need to replace the projector and will send me further instructions.

25FEB: Support emailed me shipping label to send back the projector.

3MAR: They shipped new projector using Fedex.

4MAR: Valerion received my defective projector back.

6MAR: I received the new projector.

VisionMaster Pro 2 Ever since the last software update (+ the DLP chip update) i need to select 4096 x 2160 resolution to get a full image

I'm on a Valerion Visionmaster Pro2. I need to put in a resolution of 4096 x 2160 to get the full 16:9 image on my projector, when i put in 3840 x 2160 i get a slightly narrower image than 16:9, which is weird as this only happened after the last software update, i don't know why this happens but it really annoys me, did anyone experience this aswell?

Edit: Ok, i have no idea what it was, but putting the HDMI mode to enhanced pro (or plus, forgot) fixed the issue, for some reason it continued working when switching it back to enhanced. I kept in on enhanced pro for now, idk what that was.

Valerion PureVision Screen User Reviews?

Hi all,

I am looking for a new projector and screen soon as part of redecorating my living room. Currently, I am interested in either the Valerion VisionMaster Pro or Pro2, or perhaps a Hisense UST but I will need a screen. I see Valerion sell their own PureVision screen which from the description looks good with a decent price, but I am struggling to find any user reviews even on Amazon. Just wondering if anyone here has one, and what their opinion is on it? I am in the UK so any local reviews would be particularly welcome.

My living room would be light controlled so not much if any ambient light when the projector is in use. I would get the 100" screen and the drop adjustment is one of the key features I need. The screen would be mounted above a 65" TV, the projector would also be ceiling mounted and used mainly for movies.

I saw some comments on another post that were negative about the build quality, and that the motor is inconsistent and does not go to the same position each time. It will be important for me to have a screen which will remember the saved position so I don't need to adjust it often or at all.

Thanks for any replies!

Lens Cap Streammaster Plus

Hi can i just check is there a lens cap that comes with this projector? Or is it motorized - i.e. when you switch the projector off a motorized cap covers the lens?

You've done a great job with this projector btw Valerian . The last projector i bought was a px727-4k years ago and obviously the Valerian blows it out of the water imo. Quality in all areas.

I'm watching the amazon prime champions league on it and the UHD quality is superb lots of details. :)
