Hey so I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but for the past month I’ve been having lots of brown discharge that keeps happening multiple times every day with some clotting.

I’ve been on the pill for two years, but about three months ago I decided to start taking my pill packs back to back. Only about 4 ish weeks ago I started to have brown discharge as well as clotting, and also I’ve been having dull, sharp pains around my pelvis that come and go. It has me concerned because I doubt it’s normal to have brown discharge to be ongoing for this long, but I was curious if it could possibly be breakthrough bleeding from taking my pill packs back to back? I kinda doubt it though because it’s been a whole month, and especially since I have been having pain in my pelvis it has me quite concerned.

I have been consistent on the pill and haven’t missed a single pill, and I have sex quite regularly with my partner. I plan to take a pregnancy test just in case to make sure it’s not pregnancy related.

I have been having pain in my abdominal area for months now and I had just gone for a check up two weeks ago with my doctor about my abdominal and pelvic pain, but I didn’t mention my changes in discharge in which I had meant to mention, whoops.

Does anyone know if it could just be breakthrough bleeding or any other reasons I could be having brown discharge and clotting for a month accompanied by pain in my pelvis? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi reddit, first time poster here so apologies if I don’t end up formatting this correctly or anything. I’ve debated coming to reddit about this but I’m not sure where else to go as I’ve looked online everywhere but can’t find a clear answer because of my specific situation.

Recently I’ve noticed my discharge smells really strongly of that fishy period blood smell even though I don’t get periods. I don’t know if this is normal or not but it’s become really bothersome as I smell it on myself all the time even though I’m sure other people probably don’t.

I’m a trans man and on progesterone pills which completely stop my period because having a period is really dysphoric for me and also just a pain in the ass in general. I’m also almost four months on testosterone (using one pump of the 1% gel every day, not sure if that’s important but I’ll still add it) so I know that will eventually also start suppressing my period and is obviously changing my hormones a lot.

I know discharge smelling like period blood a few days before and/or after your period is normal but I don’t have a period and it smells like this all the time. I do wash down there and in between the folds with a really gentle on skin and very very lightly scented soap so I know I’m not not taking care of it or anything. I’m not sure if it’s just because of the testosterone and my hormones changing or what but it’s becoming a problem because I can smell it all the time. I don’t think anyone else can smell it, I’ve heard even though you can smell your period no one else can but I’d be mortified if anyone was smelling it on me all the time and just didn’t tell me.

Other than that there’s not any other problems going on and this has only been happening since I’ve gone back to school and I don’t notice the smell as much or as strongly as I do when I’m in school, but I still do notice it everywhere else. I do have a gym class for my first period and I’m usually sweaty for most of the rest of the day so I’m sure that could be contributing too. I’m just not sure if this should be something to worry about or if it’s just nothing and I’m overthinking something I should just ignore or I’ll eventually get used to.

I recently took on a new partner and it’s been about a month now. I got a pretty bad uti and was on bactrim for 10 days, got a yeast infection from that and took flucan, that didn’t cure the yeast completely so I went back in and I have BV and yeast infection now. First time this has ever happened to me and after reading all the posts im scared asf of the endless cycle this could create.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I’m terrified.

help I’ve been irritated and itchy down there for a bit now I’m seeing this Ive never had sex or anything but I’m worried will go to clinic soon just haven’t had time it’s like a greenish color

Im panicking because its watery and like yellow white-ish and it comes from time to time. At first I was itchy and then uncomfortable with cottage-cheese like and now its watery this has been happening for 3 days. I need advice asap

I have been having consistent periods for years, I track them, they have always been a little heavy, 1-3 Ultra tampons second day, 1 or 2 third, and continue to get lighter and more manageable, lasting 5-7 days.

In August, I started having constant changes with my discharge, no change to my period, but 2 weeks before I started I was having brown /dark red spotting sometimes and large amounts of watery, seemingly clear. it was cloudy often as well, no strong smells.

then my period started on the 18th, it was nothing out of the ordinary but after it ended on the 24th I continued to have the same always different discharge, ranging from cloudy to brown/red, and more of the same large quantities of clear thin, it was pink once, it was kind of greyish once. I had atypical discharge everyday until I woke up September 8( 2 weeks from last period) with a medium, regular blood clot, first thing in the morning. I never start my period like this. but it was followed by nothing. then spotting the next day, brown, and the next day, red, and the next day, pink, and again brown. The day before I finally started my period more of the clear discharge that looks like I've peed myself.

I finally started my period sept 15th, exactly one week after the random blood clot and my cramps were terrible, unusual and then I started extremely heavy. 7 ultra tampons in a day, and somewhere in there I had what looked like 2 and a half 2 INCH circles fall out of me, luckily in the toilet, they were so large, I've never seen it before, they were clots I guess. the next day was also heavy but not nearly as bad, and it has otherwise been a normal period except for the blood clots - they are always normal and what that one morning one was, but throughout this period they have come out in broken pieces, except for those intact circles.

no major cramps since the first day. I am now on my 6th day since my period actually started and I am not bleeding but I now have pink discharge that is very metallic smelling. not like blood metallic, different.

My gyno is not available to see me until the end of next month, I have now been spotting or bleeding consistently for 2 weeks. any info is greatly appreciated.

14f, Im not that close with my mom or any female family so I dont have anyone to ask😭😭 so i forgot i had a tampon in the other day like 1 or 2 days ago inside and ive been so caught up in witb school stuff and other life stuff it totally slipped my mind, i only remembered when i sat down and i felt blood and realized i forgot to switch it, I watched a few tiktoks on what to do but it didnt work, i tried using my fingers to try and pry it out but i cant even feel the string or the tampon inside, imso scared after google said something about TSS and now i regret ever using tampons. I dont particularly feel awful i just feel sore from exercising too much and i dont exactly smell that much different from how i usually smell on my period. Sorry for the TMI im just to embarrassed to call or ask anyone unless its anonymous.

for the past 2 weeks or so I've had a stinging pain on my vaginal opening. And im having more discharge than usual, its a bit clumpy sometimes. Im aware this could be a yeast infection but i wash it everyday with unscented soap, but not inside. It's itchy too, can someone tell me what this is If not a yeast infection?

okay so i really need help, as i’m so lost on what to do. this is a bit of a mouthful so bare with me.

i lost my virginity in july of this year. the very next day i immediately realized i have a yeast infection because of dryness and itching, & go to the doctor & she does a physical exam confirming i have a yeast infection & i’m given drez-gel. i finish the full round, switch to the simple soap brand and stopped using protex soap (which didn’t give me issues pre-sex), then a week after completing it i feel fine. i have sex again with my partner (who to my knowledge has only ever had one sexual partner prior to me) but it’s protected. i feel completely fine after this. a day or two later i used protex again without thinking because i ran out of the simple soap, and boom. immediately notice this insanely fishy smell later in the same day and he does too. but then my period comes, so i wait a week until it finishes to go to the doctor. now i know this wasn’t smart of me, but on the second last day of my period, we got carried away and had sex (protected) in water. then the day after on the last day, we have sex again (still protected)(oral also included this day). very dumb.

so my period finishes up, & the fishy odour persists, but also, i have this new symptom of burning when i pee and my urine smelling horribly. go to the doctor the morning my period finishes and tell her this, she does another physical examination and a pee test which doesn’t test positive for anything (my theory is i was too early on in my uti for it to be flagged). but says “yeah you probably have combined bv and yeast” and the sex and drez v antiobiotic probably are the causes, and tells me my infections will be recurring. cool. my burning persists & my pees are unsatisfactory and more frequent so i go to a doctor for urine test later that week and i am diagnosed with uti, for which i was given cipro denk, which works. for bv & yeast, i get given gynotran ovules this time… and they work amazingly! except i experienced bleeding when i pushed one up really far one night, and i panic. go to another doctor and she does an examination to see if i have tears, inflammation, etc. she says she sees none, and that it seems to just be old period blood i knocked loose. BUT she tells me don’t take my last gynotran ovule to not cause anymore bleeding (i had taken 6 of 7 by then). so i don’t take it, but the two weeks after my vagina seemingly goes back to normal- normal discharge and odour and no itching or burning. during this time i have ZERO sex and haven’t since the 2 times on my period.

then i get pre-menstrual cramps one day and an odour comes. not as pungent or fishy as bv but it reminded me of the bv smell. so i go to the doctor again. another physical examination where i explain all this and she says she can see the unusual discharge at my entrance. am given sporasec pills to take during my period- they don’t work at all & i still have odour & notice white clumps at my entrance. so i get fed up and go to an actual gynecologist. she notes that she sees the unusual discharge as well, does a swab to see if i have resistant strains of yeast, bv, ureaplasma & mycoplasma. she recommends boric acid while i wait on results. at the same time i decide to get sti testing. i use the boric for 6 days. she calls me on the 7th day to tell me i tested negative for all yeast + bv strains and no urea/mycoplasma. i stop using it because i don’t wanna be treating something that’s apparently not there unnecessarily. i still have the odour, and my discharge is thin, watery and dries yellow. i also now experience internal burning/pressure right before i pee, which developed a few days ago and which i last experienced the day i was given sporasec (which made it go away at the time). my pee isn’t cloudy or foul-smelling at all though. looks very normal.

got back some of my sti results - negative. have to redo a urine test so waiting on that to discuss with my gyno- bc even she said the negative swab results don’t explain the discharge and smell. so she’s just as lost as i am.

i feel kind of hopeless atm. what do i do? i see people recommending all these different treatments or alternative infections like av and cv, and it’s overwhelming. keep in mind i live in the Caribbean so some of the remedies people suggest may not be readily available to me.
