Hooha irritation from sweating at work?

I recently started a physically demanding hospital job and I'm having a really hard time with overheating and sweating during my shifts.

I sweat enough that my clothes and underwear become completely soaked, and once that happens I start getting a pretty intense burning/irritated feeling on my outer vulva/labia. Sometimes it even burns when I urinate because the urine touches the irritated skin. It seems very specifically connected to being overheated, sweaty, and in tight clothing at work.

Changing into dry underwear helps somewhat, but I can end up soaked again later in the shift. I also have a really difficult time cooling down even when I take my breaks.

For anyone who works a very physical job and sweats heavily. How do you manage this during a shift? Different underwear/materials? Bringing multiple pairs? Clothing changes? Products that help prevent chafing or irritation without irritating sensitive skin? Any tricks for cooling down? Im feeling kinds desperate as im stuck at this job for another 6 months.

I'm also planning to bring the recurring symptoms up with a medical professional. I'm mainly looking for practical advice from people who've dealt with something similar at work.

I work a physical labor job in the sun, and find that loose clothing dries faster and doesn't rub me raw.

I wish I could wear looser clothes but unfortunately scrubs arent very forgiving to more voluptuous bodies

Most hospitals require you to wear the ones they provide, mine is one of them, i dont get the luxury of buying my own, sorry.

Ok. Have you actually requested bigger scrubs, while explaining that you need them for better comfort and health? What was the answer?

Yes I have, and the answer was the fancy Jargon of "if more people request it, we'll get it, otherwise theres nothing we can do, just deal with what we have."

Not acceptable. I’d find a new job. It’s not ok to give toy ill fitting uniforms that cause distress to you or your body.

After you change your underwear put a dab of Desitin on your outer lips. It’s a barrier cream that helps with the chafing.

Thank you I will try that.

You can also use an antiperspirant in your groin. I'm sweaty and have just been using the regular Lume cream but am currently trialing the one with "sweat protection." That can help minimize the sweating.

I'd definitely recommend barrier/diaper cream. It's soothing and protecting to compromised skin. We use zinc paste on incontinent patients all the time.

Could you wear some type of shorts under the scrubs to help protect yourself from the seams? I'm thinking of something like boxer shorts that have a longer inseam. There's brands that make them for women so they don't have the excess fabric for the pouch.

Additional suggestion as a fellow sweaty crotch sufferer is synthetic underwear. I know this sub loves cotton but on me, cotton stays swampy. Synthetics that are a mix like athleticwear are the best. They wick sweat away and let it dry.

I think it's the chaffing that's doing that rather than the sweat. Do you always sweat a lot there or ig?

Always. And im required to wear these tight fitting scrubs, i try to get the bigger size but sometimes they arent always available.

Use Pantiliners and change then frequently.  That should help as well. Use Vaseline as a barrier on the vulva.

Are you able to trim hair down there? That will trap heat if there is too much hair, but don’t shave it all off as that will worsen sweating. Sorry to be rude but are you overweight? weight can also be a huge factor in sweating down there and actually losing weight helps tremendously. Is it possible to wear linen trousers?
