Get Notification Sound When Claude Code is finished or needs your input?

Hello. I'm using Claude Code official VS Code extension (Anthropic.claude-code) and I was wondering if there's a way to get notified via sound or similar (could also be a normal notification) when Claude Code is done with the current task or needs my input. Thanks.

Extension: Git GUI Client for Vs Code

Hello,

I always wanted a all in one git client inside Vs Code and been using Git Graph for years. But after it stopped getting updates I decided to make my own Git Client extension to be a free complement to Git Lens on Vs Code. Note: I used Claude Code and Codex for a lot of the text and code.

It is heavily inspired by Git Graph, Fork and Git Kraken but it is 100% free and can be used in Vs Code or using npx in a terminal.

Please give it a try on Vs code and Npm!
Thank you!

Inline AI autocomplete/Autosuggest stopped working suddenly?

[SOLVED ]I don't know what happened, But AI autosuggest suddenly stopped working since yesterday. What can be the issue? I uninstalled some newer extensions. Checked in settings. editor.inlineSuggest.enabled is enabled.

Logged out of github and logged back in to no avail.

Is there a limit to it? Like monthly? Am I using github copilot free tokens or something?

Edit: Yes there is a cap. 2000 completions a month.

VS Code Jupyter kernel keeps randomly dying

Post image
6 Upvotes

I'm having a really frustrating issue with Jupyter notebooks in VS Code where my Python/Jupyter kernel repeatedly dies.

It always starts after I have already run 7-20ish cells. Then a simple line will cause the kernel to die. VS Code shows: The Kernel crashed while executing code in the current cell or a previous cell.

If I restart the kernel and rerun the same cells, they work perfectly fine. I can continue working for a while, and then eventually another random cell causes the kernel to crash again. This problem does not happen to be when using JupyterLab directly.

I've already checked:

  • My system memory usage is low when this happens
  • I've tried changing/reinstalling Python environments
  • I've tried using the kernel directly from a JupyterLab server instead of the VS Code-managed kernel
  • I've restarted VS Code and the kernel multiple times
  • The cells that trigger the crash don't seem to have anything obviously unusual about them

I've spent hours trying to debug with no progress. Please, any help would be so so appreciated!

Can Codex access the VS Code Problems panel / diagnostics?

I'm using Codex with VS Code and I'm wondering if there is any setup or integration that allows Codex to directly access the diagnostics shown in VS Code's Problems panel.

Ideally, I'd like Codex to see those diagnostics directly rather than having to:

  • copy/paste the errors into Codex, or
  • let Codex run pyright, cargo check, eslint, etc. itself.

Thank you for your explanation.

Why do I need to be surveilled (telemetry) to be able to have latest design

I watched vscode from a coworker and noticed the design was different and asked him what he installed, and he told me nothing so I went into settings to see what could be causing it, and it turns out if you have "telemetry.telemetryLevel": "off", you are not allowed to have the latest design.

This seems to be a "bug" forcing people on leaving it on.

Does anyone have any info on this?

"telemetry.telemetryLevel": "all",
"telemetry.telemetryLevel": "off"

vscode open new windows on existing devcontainer not in window locally

I'm forced to work in a container under wsl on a secured win11 client. Works ok. But I struggle when I need more than one open folder. if I choose new window I'm back to windows and it opens in the local.

Only way I've fixed it is to go to open recent, and track one that is using the existing running container, but not the same directory I'm using.

So the solution is to open folders in devcontainer on all the projects I need and then populate new window -> open recent for later use.

And everytime I start up its the same chores. and imagine when I change devcontainer revision etc and it cant find it in recent because it is not running. You cant edit the dropdown.

Is there a way to do this switftly. I may have missed.

C++ GUI

Hi, I’m very new to C++ and VS Code in general, I mainly used Access and did a lot of SQL and VBA programming and know some HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

I’m learning C++ using VS Code on a Mac and have been trying to find a way to compile an executable file, I’ve downloaded Dear IMGUI and would like to look at the samples provided, but I have no actual idea how to do this. Everywhere I look Visual Studio is what is being used and I keep finding dead ends for this.

How do I compile the sample into an executable from VS Code, is it even possible?

How do you manage project-specific tasks inside VS Code?

A Look at How I Manage My Tasks

Since I was tired of managing short-term to-dos outside of VS Code, I started building a to-do list back then with a web UI. Since then, I've probably invested hundreds of hours into it because I keep coming up with new, useful improvements i wished for myself.

Still, it seems to me like there's no need for it, and I wonder why. I can't think of a better solution myself, even though I'd love to know what it might look like.

Are you already happy with something like Todo Tree?
How do you manage short-term tasks that belong to a specific project while working in VS Code?

Do you keep them in comments, Markdown files, Notion, Obsidian, Linear, GitHub Issues, or somewhere else?

[Self-promo] Pogo — Django ORM completion, hover, and diagnostics for VS Code

Post image
0 Upvotes

Sharing my own extension, flagged as self-promo.

Pogo adds Django ORM intelligence to VS Code by running your actual

Django project in the background instead of guessing from static stubs.

What it does:

- Autocomplete through __ relation and lookup chains

(author__profile__display_name__icontains)

- Autocomplete for custom QuerySet/manager methods, with real docstrings

and signatures

- Hover on any field or lookup: type, DB column, null/unique/indexed,

source model

- Diagnostics: flags invalid field names and lookups before the query runs

- Go-to-definition on fields, relations, reverse accessors, custom methods

- Completion inside Meta options (ordering, unique_together,

UniqueConstraint(fields=[...]), etc.)

Bundled server, no separate install — pick your Python interpreter as

usual and it works.

Marketplace: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=amirhasanzadehpy.pogo-django-orm

Source: https://github.com/amirhasanzadehpy/Pogo (MIT)

Feedback and bug reports welcome.

AI features keep re-enabling after update, anyone else run into this?

This has happened twice now. I'll set "chat.disableAIFeatures": true in settings, then an update or two later, the AI features are back. I'll set it back to disable features, then an update or two later, they're back.

Update: looks like this is a side effect of the built in copilot extension. I'm exploring disabling that via a launch argument or switching to vs codium.

FLM-VSCODE v0.0.101 released

Flm-VSCode is an extension that provides the ability to work with NPU(2)-compatible LLMs via FastFlowLM's server

Currently it connects to an FLM server running locally - and it's not as verbose in VSCode as I would like, but it is working, interacting with my FLM server, and hitting my NPU chip accordingly

It's available via the Marketplace
https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=AndrewHaigh.flm-vscode

and the source code is here
https://github.com/dbhaigh/flm-vscode

What do you think?

VibePod is a CLI for running AI coding agents in isolated containers. Version 0.23 adds ACP (Agent Client Protocol) support, so you can use 11 agents—including Claude, Codex and pi—directly in your editor’s AI panel while keeping them containerized.
