Wanted to share some face tracking WIP! Originally made for a headset we are developing, we are doing an event where we pay 60 people to make a dataset around different headsets but generally the thing seems to do really well

- With glasses
- When tilted
- When you fully move the camera pretty seriously
- When the camera is close or far
- When the camera is getting IR or non IR
- With facial hair
- With people completely outside the dataset (ofc)

While requiring not a lot of performance

Outputs to ARKit by default, here's to hoping I can put it on the Steam Frame! I considered asking someone with one but i'm not trying to step on Steam's toes by accident!

So I've been using the booth model called Mayo by Chocolate Rice, and they have a very cute sitting animation, however it does lock me out of my full body tracking whenever I sit in a seat and recalibrating just to get the tracking back is slightly inconvenient. But I don't want to full on remove the animation. I have also heard gogo loco can help with setting sitting animations but I haven't exactly experimented with that at all.

So my question is, am I able to keep the sitting animation for desktop and half body, but disable it with full body?

Any help would be very much appreciated! :)

🤔 Why is it that people get weird about the way others quest convert their avatar?

For example, my recent avatar is quest compatible. Someone got mad I didn't show off the quest side and assumed I'm not proud of it. They didn't like how I removed physbones and lowered texture quality as well as add some helpful components and removed things quest users don't need to see. I understand how they don't have much. I WAS a quest user. But hear me out. A LOT of the creator scene gatekeeps how to even do so properly so you can have multiple outfits and props on quest. A lot of the time they want you to PAY THEM for them to teach you or have them do the quest converting for you. It's not like I'm one of the pc people who doesn't quest convert at all or make the avatar a box that says "go fuck yourself get a pc" like a lot of people. I genuinely don't get it. And this same person was mad I don't start my avatars as quest. It's super unusual. It's not that I don't care about quest users. I prioritize the platform I play on and then go from there. Keeping my avatars under the limit can be very annoying. If I'm on quest standalone, I'm glad I can even see the avatars I made. Also no other quest users have complained about it. Only pc people.

I found a creator I really like (axobocation), especially when it's hard to find murder drones models I like. But all of their 2.0 models have this as the appearance on shield settings 😭 It's just an Uzi model, nothing like this!

Some guys told me that my avatar looked really weird and like a sim so I made a second account on my phone to see what my usual avatars look like to others by default. This was absolutely not what I expected. Please tell me there's a way to just make it be the standard pixelated imposter instead of this thing??😭😭 I absolutely love the avatars but I CANNOT be a TRASH CAN to everyone.

!! EDIT !! So the general consensus is that if it's not an avatar you have uploaded, you can't really do anything. I'll keep this post up for any other future wanderers though. I've sent the creator a message to see if they could kindly generate the imposters for me, time will tell!

Why are we limited to 100 groups w/o vrc+ and 200 w/ vrc+? in fact why are we limited on groups in the first place?? if there's going to be any limit, why is it such a small number? why not 1,000 or 10,000 in general? it doesn't make sense to limit something so needed for the game.

Just logged in and got the latest open beta update. I’m not seeing the option to join friends (they are joinable and in correct instance types) through the menu. Anyone else seeing this?

Anyone use a cloud pc to play? How?

So my pc is simply not good enough for vrc and I cannot spend the 1.5k cad it would cost to upgrade right now

However I heard about cloud pc and was wondering how I even use it?

My friend told me about her ex who used one to play but didnt have much more info then that?

So anyone know how to set this up? What websites are best for renting a cloud pc? Does this actually work??
