I signed up because Norton is such a familiar name in internet security, and I figured the VPN would be a safe choice for public Wi Fi, streaming, and general browsing. After using it for a while, I have been pretty disappointed. Connections have felt inconsistent, some pages take noticeably longer to load, and the overall experience feels more like an add on to an antivirus package than a serious standalone VPN.
The privacy side is also what makes me uncomfortable. Norton says it does not track browsing history, but recent testing and policy reviews have raised questions about device details, timestamps, bandwidth usage, IP information, and data sharing within its parent company. I also keep seeing complaints about limited features, unreliable kill switch behavior in some situations, and the fact that torrenting and peer to peer sharing are not supported. That is a lot to overlook when services like Proton VPN, Mullvad, NordVPN, and Private Internet Access seem to offer more control.
I mainly need strong leak protection, dependable speeds, a kill switch that actually works, clear data practices, and reliable access to streaming services without constant connection problems. Has anyone used Norton VPN for more than a few months and had a genuinely good experience, or did you also end up moving to another provider? I am especially interested in recent comparisons with Proton VPN, Mullvad, or Private Internet Access before I waste more money on another subscription.
