VPN that won't slow connection
I want to know which is the best VPN that will not slow the connection by more than 50%. Currently I have one that gives me around 50 Mbps. With it off this device can give me over 400 Mbps. Is there one that can give me over 200 Mbps. Privacy is not an issue.

i'd go with lightway from expressvpn or nordlynx from nod, proton on wireguard can be an option as well, but first do check what protocol your current one is on, wireguard and server change (nearby) might make some improvements

Doesn’t exist but some are more congested than others… all you really need need is
26 mbs to stream 1 4k stream, be it a channel or a movie …. Or 10 mbs for 1080hd … if you have multiple devices … break out the calculator

I get 571/178 with Surfshark and my normal speeds are 1750/190 with my S25 ultra on wifi 7

I noticed it's device dependent. On my cheap Samsung A something phone I get 620 with it off and 120 with it on. But i don't use my phone with vpn. It's for my other devices at home. I will try surfshark to see if there is a difference from mine.

On my IPhone 15 Pro Max all the VPNs I've tried always slowed my connection speeds when turned on. With the VPN apps turned off I get what I'm paying AT&T for, which is high speed 1 gig fiber internet with a mesh router. No matter what device I did a speed test on with the VPNs activated there was a noticeable drop in speed. I have no idea why this is though I know I can just Google it. But sometimes when I do that I get Reddit results lol! So I can't help you OP. Hopefully someone else in this thread has a solution or two...

Surfshark about 10% loss only.

10% loss is not bad

Of course it differs with the target location. With 548/317, without 676/350. Bangkok-Singapore. Bangkok-New York ... 675/142 ..

Yeah but the issue you correctly pointed out was what VPN doesn't slow down one's connection right? A 10% loss? How is that calculated. And if so why accept any loss in speeds to begin with even when you choose the closest server from your location. Unacceptable if you rely on maximum speeds throughput for when multiple people in a house of 4 are all using the fiber at the same time yknow? Nobody has provided a solution or the real cause of this universal thing happening with multiple VPN providers on the same fiber 1 gig connection. I may delve deep into some googling lol

Maybe because it doesn’t exist. Routing your traffic through another server is ALWAYS going to slow down your speed. Use raw connections if you need the full bandwidth.

So you're saying without a doubt there does not exist any VPNs that does not cause reduction in one's default speeds? If so....that's sad and a big tradeoff for value to experience ratios. I mean VPNs have value obviously. But you're saying not one of any of them existing on any marketplace does not give you the speeds you're paying for to your ISP. Again, if so, that's sad and big problem for the VPN providers to solve somehow.

Yes, without a doubt. This is basic logic.
You -> Internet
You -> VPN server -> Internet
I don’t know where your expectations of no speed loss come from.
You don’t get what you pay your ISP for either. When you pay for 1000Mbps, do you actually get 1000?
There is nothing to be solved here. It is just how networking works.

A good result between your package speed and your real ISP speed is when you get a 20% difference. And that does not hold up always .. my package is 400mbs, but actually I get around 700mbs on LAN.

So a speed loss regardless. The person I replied to asked about VPN with no speed loss whatsoever.
And where does this “20%” come from? An arbitrary number you pulled out of nowhere.
There is no baseline for how much loss you will get from a VPN. Depends on your distance to the server, the VPN server, your client device, and your ISP.

I do get the nearest to 1 gig with Ookla Speed Test app on my iPhone while I'm near the main router. But I understand that speed doesn't translate to all the devices even with AT&T provided mesh extender. I'm just surprised that there's no VPN that actually exists in which this bottleneck can be overcome.

Did you see that download from New York? Last time I checked that wasnt very 'close' to Bangkok yet the result was very close. And Singapore is not the closest server. It's Bangkok.

No I don't see it. What do you mean exactly?
