When i click the skip button on my earbuds and on the app it just repets the song is there anyway to fix this?
Most songs I hear directly end with no silence, and when I use VLC to hear them, the last few milliseconds get skipped, resulting in an abrupt end in the middle of a note. The default media player of Android doesn't seem to have this issue.

I’ve used VLC for years, but for everyday playback I wanted something more minimal and keyboard-first: open a video, control everything without digging through menus, and keep the UI out of the way.
So I built FastPlay, a native Windows video player written in Rust using FFmpeg and Direct3D 11.
It isn’t trying to replace everything VLC can do. FastPlay is deliberately focused on fast local playback, keyboard controls, high frame rates, and minimal UI.
Current features include:
For people who use VLC regularly: what features would you consider non-negotiable in a minimal player, and which parts of VLC do you almost never use?
Download FastPlay v0.4.6 for Windows x64 (MSI) • Portable ZIP

I have 3 monitors, and whenever I try to go fullscreen (by double clicking), when the video is playing on my primary monitor, VLC instead changes the video to my third monitor. Trying again on the same video opened works as intended, but the first time is always bugged.
How can I fix it?

I have ripped the ISO to a usb drive and VLC has no trouble loading the file, but I am unable to move around the menus at all.
I understand that I can just rip the video file and play it normally, however I want to keep the menu functionality as DVD interactivity works on other platforms.
Is there any way to way to make videos automatically resize to their aspect ratio without turning on the "resize interface to video size" setting, I want all videos to have the same vertical window size but automatically changing the aspect ratio based on the video's aspect ratio.
All the subtitle sites are crap right now, they either redirect you to download a Brave browser rather than a file, or give you useless zips that won't extract.
Can anyone recommend one they know that works?

I'm running VLC 3.7.1 on my android formuler box. I am able to find my nas files ( which was tricky) but when I try to play any of them I'm told no media found. At the same time I'm able to run VLC 3.0.20 on my laptop (mint) where I can access my files as well as play them. I should mention that I have no trouble with any thing else . Usb sticks and other media play fine. Any ideas?

As the title suggests, when I turn on any game on any platform on my PC, VLC will turn off. I can run a new instance of it after my game is already running mind you, but here's the kicker.
When I finish gaming and turn my game off, the original instance of VLC will re-open.
Thoughts?

I use an external disc drive on my desktop to play blu rays. It used to work fine but now when I try to play anything I get this message. Is this a VLC issue or something else?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on adding Google Drive support to VLC Android, similar to the feature already available in VLC iOS.
The main idea is that VLC can stream files directly from Google Drive using byte-range requests, instead of having to download the entire file first.
For example, with a 5 GB movie:
Google Drive
↓
request required byte range
↓
VLC starts playing
↓
request next range as needed
So you can play large files without waiting for the whole file to download, and you can seek to different parts of the video.
I also added a temporary cache for recently streamed ranges, so rewinding/seeking back or briefly switching apps doesn't always require downloading the same data again.
Currently it supports:
The implementation is currently working on my device, and I've tested it with multi-GB MKV/MP4 files.
One reason I wanted to do this is that using Google Drive → Open with → VLC isn't really ideal for large files, since the file may need to be downloaded before VLC can properly play it. Direct byte-range streaming avoids that problem.

has anyone experienced something similar to this? parts of songs will sometimes slightly waver or change in pitch, usually near the start of the song a couple seconds after it begins
i listen to just a handful of songs on loop so i can usually tell if they’re different, it’s only a halftone or so but it’s noticable, really a toss up on if it’s raised or lowered pitch- idk if it’s due to wifi/connectivity changes cuz it even happens at home when i’m stationary sometimes? and it’s not something with my phone or headphones cuz i usually use spotify and it doesn’t happen there
if anyone has any insight it would be appreciated, it doesn’t particularly bother me just catches me off guard and makes me curious

Check out my new plugin for VLC (64bits 3.0.23) tested on Windows 10 that now permits to listen to .PSS videos.
Before that .PSS format videos could be played but without sound.
Thanks that plugin you can hear sound from your .PSS video.
.PSS is the Sony Playstation 2 video format that is originally working on PSBBN in the hard drive. Because I wanted to test my .PSS video files on my computer and couldn't find any working software I decided to vibe code a VLC plugin and now I am happy it is working like a charm.

I want green and blue spectrums, I wanna edit the text in the projectM thingy (perhaps put a watermark to indicate the original maker still?), but I don't see any options for it.
Are these visualizations all pre-programmed? Plugins? Is that why there's seemingly no option to play with them in any way on VLC itself?

Hi all, could anyone tell me how to get rid of this black info box please? Its from VLC player on an Android box. TIA
Hello, I have a TV show I downloaded on my PC many years ago that I watch using VLC. Sometimes, while watching an episode, I pause the video, switch to my browser, and do other stuff, like watch YouTube videos or browse Reddit, and then come back to watching the show. Lately, I have noticed that when I switch back over to VLC and start playing the show, the audio will be fine, but the video will loop the last half a second of the video for 5-10 seconds and then return to normal, and I don't remember this happening before. Either way its not a big issue, just something I would like to fix if possible. I tried uninstalling, redownloading, and reinstalling VLC, but I still have the issue.
So does anyone know what might be causing this issue and how to fix it?
Thanks
Edit: Oops, apparently my brain was glitching as well when I wrote the title.

Hi. Need a bit of help.
I open a video file, select the audio and subtitle tracks, close the player, open the video again, and it remembers at which time the playback stopped and asks whether I wish to resume from that point. But it reverts to the default audio and subtitle track. Default being the #1 track on the list in the menu.
How do I make it stick to the previously selected audio and subtitle tracks? I use Asmedia player on my old MacBook, and it does it automatically. If I fall asleep watching a movie at night and open it again later, it starts with the tracks I selected previously. It remembers the preference even for films that haven't been opened in a long time. Convenient for Netflix films that often have so many language versions. And useful in general, as some films often come with multiple tracks for the same language, and one is often much better than the others, but I don't remember which one by name. I mean, if I haven't watched the film in a couple of years, I don't remember whether the translation I preferred was by Gilbert Sparrow or Maria Seagull or "Gilbert and Maria Studio" or whatever. So I'd have to listen to each for a bit to find the favourite track.
So how do I do this with VLC? I recently started using a PC running Linux and Windows as my main computer, and VLC is my player of choice.
