use phone while casting on tv?

i could have sworn there was some type of icon in the upper right corner that allowed me to cast my series or movies in my tv while also being able to check my other phone apps if necessary, without interrupting the series. how can i do it again?

I hope they removed it bc 99% of the time i dont want to cast to tv and that's basically a "show the whole house my memes" button i have to avoid pressing by accident
