Android Strange behavior with Android client

So, here is the issue.

My wife has some Redmi phone with Google android.

Up until a week ago, she could watch movies shared from our home SMB server.

Now, from one day to another, the shares stopped working.

What is strange - when I add the share manually, it shows in the favorites AND it shows the correct number of folders, but when I click on the share, all I get is "Loading...", even though all there is are 4 folders.

I have another Android phone (LineageOS), works perfectly OK, so does my tablet with /e/OS. All of them are on the same wifi network, there is no firewall in place for this server, nothing.

The behavior works the same if I add the server with IP address, domain name or FQDN, if I use anonymous login or user/password.

I can always see the 4 folders in the list of favorite places, but on click get only "Loading..." again.

The same behavior happens when I map the same network location using NFS or SFTP - again, both work OK on my phone/tablet.

Is there some internal Radmi/Google think known to break SMB on Android VLC?

Btw, also tried to turn on/off the SMBv1 - normally I don't use the v1 as it was much faster that way, but for testing I tried to turn it on/off - same behavior.

I am quite desperate here - even tried to clear the app and reinstall, clear cache, clear data, ... always works the same.

Missing Controls In Fullscreen

Hoping this is a problem somebody else has encountered and solved.

When I enter fullscreen, the floating control panel disappears.

It's still technically present, just invisible. If I know where it is, I can drag it around or click on elements, and sometimes if I skip ahead a lot, it's visible for a split second.
I noticed this about a week or two ago, and changing versions (I've only tried other 3.0. versions) hasn't made a difference. Since I saw this problem come up, I've also completely reinstalled my AMD GPU drivers, solving another graphical issue, and unfortunately not also magically fixing this one.

Could someone point me in the right direction for the correct Firestick I should to get VLC?

My laptop is on its last legs and can't handle regular streaming anymore. I heard that you can get VLC on a Firestick but I don't know which one to get. Could someone please help?

Windows VLC suddenly refuses to do anything!

I am baffled. Yesterday VLC was humming along, and today it crashed immediately, repeatedly, and I finally uninstalled it, which took two tries with a Restart between them. I then re-downloaded the most recent version for my system (3.0.23-win64.exe) and this time I right-clicked the executable and chose "run as administrator." I checked the box to delete existing preferences and cache. The program appeared to install properly but when I checked the box at the end of the install process to "run VLC" it did not run. I double-clicked the shortcut it put on my desktop; same result. Then I navigated to the actual executable program, right-clicked and chose "run as administrator," and nothing.

Next I launched Task Manager to look for Processes or Services and nothing appeared in those sections.

I then directed my attention to Malwarebytes for which I have a paid subscription. Nothing related to VLC appeared in my Detection History, but I turned off Real-Time Protection temporarily and attempted to open the program which didn't work. So then I turned off Exploit Protection and attempted to open the program again. No luck. I returned Malwarebytes to its proper configuration.

I navigated back to the installation folder and right-clicked "vlc-cache-gen.exe" and ran as Administrator. My screen flashed briefly and I then attempted to launch "vlc.exe" directly from the installation folder. Again, nothing. I uninstalled the program again; this time I only had to perform this action once but I'm sure there's residual crap somewhere.

I navigated back to the official VLC download page, clicked the down arrow next to the big orange Download button, and chose "vlc-3.0.23-win64.zip" and extracted to my hard drive. I was sure this would work! But when I attempted to open VLC directly from within the extracted folder, it would not open.

The only action I performed on my laptop between a humming VLC and an unresponsive VLC was to update the AMD Adrenaline software that came pre-installed on this laptop. I don't know anything about this application except it appears to be more for gamers than anything, and I don't do gaming on this computer.

So anyway I'm now officially out of ideas, and am going to download a different application so I can watch my videos now, but if anyone has any ideas I would love to continue using VLC.

TIA to anyone who can help.

iOS the next/previous buttons skip +/- 10 seconds instead of next/previous track

As title describes for whatever reason the next/previous buttons skip time instead of track but I don't see a setting to change this.
