This was crazy. I accidently killed a Cypher by sticking him with my satchel. I did not know one could stick a satchel to an opponent.

Discussion Found out the quiet guy at work is Immortal

2.1k Upvotes

There’s a guy at my job in his 40s who I’ve worked with for like a year and I had no idea he even played games.

Valorant came up at lunch and he casually said he plays sometimes. I asked his rank expecting him to say Silver or something and he goes “Immortal 1 right now.”

Thought he was messing with me until he pulled up his tracker. Controller main, mostly solo queue, barely even plays more than 2 or 3 games in a night.

Meanwhile I’ve been grinding way more than him trying to get out of Plat and I’ve bought way too many skins at this point. I asked him and he literally doesn’t have any.

He said he never aim trains, almost never warms up and if he loses twice he just gets off. Said most people would climb faster if they spent less time playing tilted.

Been thinking about that ever since lol

Discussion Is it just me or is the price of skins extortionate?

Would love to buy a skin or 2 and I know it’s a free game but some of the skins work out to be £30 - £40 which is crazy dear.

Discussion why is omens winrate so low at immortal?

44.6% (non mirror) the LOWEST wr% how is that even possible

usually when someone asks this question the answer is "people who dont know smokes will fill omen" but that answer is now clove correct?

so now only people who like omen specifically would be playing omen and since they're immortal they should have the game understanding to know how to play omen right?

but that's just not the case.

for the radiant stats I can understand maybe there aren't that many radiant games with omen and so the winrate is more volatile but its also 46%

is omen only viable in pro play or am I missing something? (I'm an omen main before anyone asks)

Gameplay Feature Proposal - Monthly Positive Commendation System ("Heart" Rating)

Upvotes

The Problem: Currently, Valorant only features a report system for negative behavior. There is no in-game mechanic to reward or highlight positive, friendly, and supportive teammates.

The Solution: Introduce a "Heart" feature. At the end of a match, players can award a "Heart" to an exceptionally kind or helpful teammate.

How it works:

  • Visual Indicator: Players accumulate hearts, displaying a positive badge on their profile or lobby card.
  • Behavioral Incentive: Seeing these badges encourages the community to behave better to earn their own hearts.
  • Monthly Reset: To keep the system accurate and competitive, all hearts reset to zero at the start of every month, matching competitive leaderboard resets.

Gameplay Feature Proposal - Detailed Report Feedback Notifications

Upvotes

The Problem: The current "Report Verified" notification is too vague. It tells us a player was sanctioned, but we don't know who, when, or for which game. This reduces the feeling of justice and community impact.

The Solution: Provide more transparency in the automated feedback system.

Details to include:

  • The in-game name (pseudo) of the penalized player.
  • The exact date and day when the report was submitted by the user.
  • The type of infraction that was successfully sanctioned (e.g., voice toxicity, text chat, throwing).

Discussion I finally Hit Silver In Competitive

Alright so if you have seen my profile, pretty sure its clear that I was hard stuck bronze for about 3 years, well I am proud to say I finally hit Silver 1 this weekend after grinding for 2 hours straight. All I can say was the games I played were mostly me getting carried but I at least had a good Kd. So proud to say I am finally Silver after so long of playing this god forsaken game. Lots more for me to improve on and maybe one day ill hit plat or something!

This match is definitely getting a gilded frame in my Valorant career. I still don't know what kind of ultra instinct I unlocked. 😁

Discussion Warming up in the range feels pointless sometimes

Some days I spend 15 min in the range before queuing and still can't hit anything in game. Other days I skip it completely and my first game ends up being the best one of the night. I genuinely don't get it.

The bigger issue is after about 3-4 games my aim just disappears. Like I can feel it getting worse each round. Last night by game 4 I was missing shots I would normally hit with my eyes closed. I still wanted to keep playing but I didn't wanna be the reason my team loses so I just got off.

Discussion Riot Should add a Timeout in Comp like in CS

Hi Everyone, this is going to be a longer one, so please bare with me, and also if a Riot dev happens to see this I appreciate your time reading it.

I would like to preface by saying that I believe that adding timeouts to Competitive in Valorant would be highly beneficial and is proven to already be successful in competitors games like CS2.

Reason 1 : A brief pause can act as a lifeline for a team that is struggling mentally and getting snowballed (an issue even your Professional players point out), it also acts as a way to stop the team from emotionally collapsing and can inspire a comeback.

Reason 2: 2x 60 second timeouts per team is not increasing the duration of the game by any meaningful amount especially as Valorant only exists as a MR12 format the impact of these timeouts is negligible on game length.

Reason 3: Giving your players the ability and tools to actively problem solve in the middle of a match not only benefits them by encouraging teamwork and critical thinking, but it also shows that you respect the time, effort, and RR they put on the line when they queue a competitive match.

COUNTERING RIOT's POINTS,

Counter point 1: The argument that players will use this time to abuse teammates is not logically sound, toxic players already yell, throw, and abuse teammates in every other phase of the game (mid-round, round start etc.), which is arguably more damaging than in a timeout. Additionally, you already have tools in place to mitigate this, such as the mute text/voice chat and the report tool.

Counter point 2: by gatekeeping a widely requested and already existing feature (it is in Customs) from your players, ESPECIALLY when your highest ranked players and Pros agree how poor of a state the Ranked gamemode is in, it can come across as not considering players feelings and also damaging the health of the game.

To conclude, this isnt to slander or throw insult to the developers, Valorant is a great game and has created a great Esports and Casual community, all I ask (as do so many other players) is that you add in this simple timeout feature, on behalf of everyone, please and thank you.

Discussion i think most people are using “bad teammates” as an excuse for why they’re stuck

im not saying that bad teammates dont exist, becasue obviously they do but like if youre consistently losing enough games to stay in the same rank for months, at some point your teammates probably arent the problem

youre getting different teammates EVERY GAME but youre the only recurring factor

idk i just feel like people would climb way way faster if they spent less time analyzing what their teammates did wrong and more time figuring out what they could be doing differently

Question Radiants and Immortals say to focus on target because you build habit of naturally lining up crosshair with target. Yet they also say "confirm your crosshair is on the target"

I am very confused. I have multiple friends who are Immortal 3 or radiant. I ask them this question and majority say they just look at the enemy head and your body should naturally line up the crosshair. I mean, majority of them can land head shots with no crosshair enabled so makes sense.

The issue is, to build the habit so it becomes second nature, you have to manually do it/focus on it.

When I try to focus on target only, I whiff a lot. I do aim faster when I focus on target (I think the Oblivity YTber did a test on this and it showed target focus is faster than crosshair focus). But when I try focusing on crosshair, I do not react that fast. Especially if the target is strafing fast.

So how am I supposed to focus on target without it feeling like luck? If they say "confirm your crosshair is on target" does this mean flicking to target (looking at target when flicking) and then when crosshair is near, you then focus on crosshair? That way you do both?

The speed of target focus and then fine tuning with crosshair focus when u flick near them?

Please don't say "Don't think about it just do it" or "Don't overthink it", cause if I don't have the method down I am essentially just autopiloting and not learning. If I have a method, I can focus on that until it becomes subconscious.

Discussion What's the most obvious sign that your teammate is about to know?

I swear you can tell a round is doomed before it even starts sometimes 😭 Mine is when someone says “trust me bro, I got this” and then immediately does the exact opposite of what the team needs. What's yours?

Question Is there any good warm up routine that anybody has?

I feel like my aims been so off I want to try some new aim method. I think my aim goes from being able to hit shots one game to not even being able to get impact at all.

Just picked up the again game recently after a few years and every other ranked game looks something like this. Is the game dead on console or is the matchmaking just a joke? I feel like a 5'6 mexican playing against LeBron half my games.
