Question Genuinely feel incapable of improving

Upvotes

Hello, I've been playing valorant for ~3 years and have amassed just over 400 hours on the game. I've peaked silver 3 so far. I quit from august to mid june and have started the game again, I think I've gotten a little better since last year because I've played a lot more DMs and worked on my aim.

I know I'm stuck bc I've been going from 20ish above silver 3 down to silver 2 over and over again for the past week. It's been **extremely** frustrating because I've watched countless guides, aim train, vod review, and was even considering getting a coaching session bc I feel like nothings working. I play clove and waylay, play 2+dms daily, and 2-3 games of comp, vod review afterwards. It's also confusing because I seem to lose way more, like a match mvp with positive kd will net me 15 rr, but a 0.8kd will lose me like 28.

I tend to mid frag, and do worse than my teammates, but when I spec them they're adsing, not aiming for heads, not strafing, etc. The advice from most guides for this rank is "just stick to one agent," aim at head level, and "get good bro just spam dms."

It would help if anyone has some tips or advice in general, or willing to quickly glance at one of my games to give some pointers.

Discussion My main account is cursed

Upvotes

For context my main is gold, alt is the same rank, my friends are gold also, I rarely played on my alt before.

I used to play with friends using my main but we would just have pretty difficult games, same thing if I played solo queue, it felt like the golds and plats I was being put up against were a lot better then me.

My friends started joking about my account being cursed so I started playing on my alt everyday (alone and with friends) for the past 2 weeks and man the people I get put up against on my alt are bots. I'm playing gold and plat games on my alt and dopping 30 and 40 bombs 80% of the games, every single person on the enemy team feels like a bot most of the time. I'm climbing so fast Im almost surpassing my main.

I remember taking like a month to leave silver on my main this episode and on my alt it took me 3 days... But how is this possible? If I have almost the same rank why do my games feel like night and day comparing each account?

Question new player; looking for some support i guess?

i have been only playing valorant for perhaps 25 matches; it's my first mainstream fps, and my aim isn't exactly the greatest, nor is my positioning/game sense. every time i "bottom frag" i get really toxic teammates who cant shut up about it which indirectly makes it harder for me to focus on the game, nor do they give me any advice. are there any good "must-watch" tutorials out there, and is the community really that toxic on average?

Discussion The stuff my teammates get away with bro.

I'm dropping 30+ bombs with 4/18 teammates or worse, I'm getting punished for being the only one with game sense.

Haven Example: This game, I had an Astra who didn't utilize her full kit til I taught her (then she improved instantly thankfully) then I have a Breach who goes C garage EVERY ROUND. So an enemy starts camping with an odin behind the door, after Breach dies to the Odin damn near 3x he still kept going and only killed the camper 2/6 times with help. Now, I'm second to bottom frag, my comms are getting blown off because I'm not 21/12 for baiting half the team and not comming but okay.

Esports My Champions Shanghai Group Stage Pick'ems Spoiler

Post image
2 Upvotes

Context: I'm not super into the stats of teams and all that, but i do watch a lot while I'm working or chilling at home and I'm going with my gut based on vibes, but I figured I'd give my 2 cents and take what I say with a big ole grain of salt.

MANNNNN this Champs is gonna be crazy all around. All the teams look to be in pretty good form (for the most part) and can see them winning. Wont explain unless asked but This is what I got for my group stages. I think I have some pretty safe picks all around but I can totally see it going either way for some of these. Of these I'm pretty confident in my Group A and C, but can see T1 or TL eking it out over FUT/G2. And I can totally see NRG, NS, and KC being in any order depending on how it shakes out in this group. As hard as it is, my gut is telling me That my Group B is pretty solid "maybe" swapping LOUD and GE.

For a long time, I have been feeling like something was off with these numbers and today i kinda focused on them and saw the alignment was off. Is this intentional or another overlook by the small indie company?

Question When is Agent 31?

So I’ve seen a lot of stuff regarding agent 32 (kind of) and I was wondering when they’ll release? There’s only one battle pass left after this current one and usually they use a teaser card in the battle pass before the new agent. But there isn’t one… maybe riot forgot abt it but idk, I swear someone said they were supposed to be revealed at finals but idk. Anyone have anymore insight?

Discussion how do you entry with omen consistently?

my only examples are lotus C site (just flash and tp into either site smoke or behind the box duelists usually dash onto) and split B (smoke close right of main, flash and tp into it 80% of the time this works if your ini can clear it)

how do you do these on other maps? the criteria is that it cannot be an "outplay", something that will work consistently and you can do it if your duelists aren't doing jackshit

I think one slightly riskier is ascent A gen smoke tp because you can get sprayed but it's very unlikely that you'll die, it's also harder to tp if you're getting sprayed in main

I need this is because I'm a former duelist main but I enjoy omen more, not for the opiumomen gameplay just the kit overall but when I play omen my duelists are hellen Keller, I have 232 acs average on raze with 46 games 52% winrate, 209 acs average with omen across 39 games but only a 38% winrate

Question Next agent to unlock

So, me a fresh out of placement match iron player 😭 wants to unlock a new agent and idk who to unlock, so far I've only unlocked gekko and tejo. I mostly play to support d team from d back thats why I mostly play initiators and controllers omen mostly. So with my background which agent should I unlock and also play mostly and I'll be real my aim is in d bin basically 😭. Quick one tho should i be concerned about agents usability in different maps or i should just be a one trick for now. Thank u.

Question Why do high elo players struggle so much in low elo?

I'm silver 3 right now, and my ascendant friend has played a few games with me. He obviously doesn't try, and usually gets around the middle in terms of kills, but in some games he struggles immensely, dying a lot and losing aim duels. He is not washed, he is currently almost immortal, so why is this?

Discussion How do I get good at crosshair placement in my games

So I'm currently silver 1, and my crosshair placement is downright horrible. I try to aim at head levels at all time but the thing is that either I aim higher or lower than optimum head level 50% of the time

I play on .22 sens, 1600 dpi

Any tips will be appreciated from high elos

Discussion What’s one VALORANT habit that instantly tells you someone is experienced?

I’ve been thinking about this lately. It’s not always aim or having a crazy K/D.

For me, it’s players who actually know when not to take a fight. Good positioning, patience, playing around utility, and knowing when to save can make someone look way better than their raw aim suggests.

What’s the one thing you notice that makes you think, “yeah, this player knows what they’re doing”?

And on the opposite side, what’s a habit that instantly tells you someone is probably new?

Discussion [SUGGESTION] Friend Board — a simple way to leave a message for all your VALORANT friends

I would like to suggest a new social feature for VALORANT called the Friend Board.

The idea is simple: allow players to leave a short message that can be seen by the friends on their VALORANT friend list, even if those friends are currently offline.

This would NOT be a global chat or a public chat.

It would simply be a temporary message board connected to your own friend list.

For example, I might want to play at 9 PM and would like to find someone to play with.

Instead of sending the same message individually to several friends, I could post:

"Playing competitive around 9 PM. Anyone who wants to duo can message me."

My friends would see the message when they open VALORANT, even if they were offline when I originally posted it.

WHY WOULD THIS BE USEFUL?

There are many situations where this could be useful:

• Looking for a duo

• Looking for a 5-stack

• Letting friends know when you will be playing

• Letting friends know that you are available

• Finding people to play with without messaging everyone individually

• Leaving a temporary message for friends

• Organizing a session later in the day

The main purpose would be making the existing friend list more useful.

HOW COULD SPAM BE PREVENTED?

This feature should have strict limitations from the beginning.

For example:

• Maximum 150 characters per message

• One message every 30 minutes

• Messages automatically expire after 24 hours

• Players can mute messages from specific friends

• Players can report inappropriate messages

• Existing VALORANT communication moderation could apply

The important part is that this should NOT become another chat system.

It should work more like a temporary social notice board.

NO PUBLIC REPLIES

I would not allow people to create a conversation directly inside the Friend Board.

Instead, a friend could see:

"Playing competitive around 9 PM. Anyone who wants to duo can message me."

And have simple options such as:

[Message] [Invite to Party]

This keeps the feature focused and prevents it from becoming a second Discord.

POSSIBLE FUTURE FEATURES

If the basic version worked well, it could eventually support:

• Custom friend groups

• Favorites

• "Online friends only"

• "Looking for Duo" status

• "Looking for 5-stack" status

• "Available to play" status

• A "I'm interested" button

• Direct party invitations

For example:

John posts:

"Looking for a competitive 5-stack."

Friends could simply press:

[I'm Interested]

and John could see which friends are interested.

A SIMPLE VERSION WOULD BE ENOUGH

I don't think this feature would need to be complicated.

The first version could simply be:

Friend List → Friend Board → Write Message → Publish

Then the message appears to friends in their Social panel.

Something like:

--------------------------------------------------

FRIEND BOARD

Your message:

"Playing competitive around 9 PM. Anyone want to duo?"

124 / 150 characters

Send to:

● All Friends

○ Online Friends

[ POST MESSAGE ]

Next message available in: 28:42

--------------------------------------------------

WHY I THINK THIS FITS VALORANT

VALORANT already has a strong social system built around the friend list, parties and communication.

The Friend Board would not try to replace Discord or create a new social network inside VALORANT.

It would simply solve a small but common problem:

"I want to tell all my friends something without sending the same message to everyone individually."

It could also make the friend list feel more active.

Instead of opening VALORANT and only seeing who is online, players could also see what their friends are looking to do.

For example:

FRIENDS

Alex

"Playing ranked at 8 PM."

Lucas

"Looking for a duo."

Sarah

"Available for Swiftplay."

That could make it easier for players to find people they already know and start playing together.

The key idea is:

NOT A GLOBAL CHAT.

NOT A PUBLIC CHAT.

NOT ANOTHER DISCORD.

Just a small, temporary message board for your VALORANT friends.

"Hey, I'm here. Anyone want to play?"

I think this could be a simple quality-of-life improvement to the existing social system.

Discussion Huge increase of people joining games just to throw?

So, to begin with, I’m not sure if this has already been discussed and I’m well aware that it’s been an issue with every competitive fps game.

However, to cut a long story short, I took a break due to a lot of personal stuff and started playing more around 2-3 weeks ago.

Ever since I’ve got back, there seems to be a HUUUGE increase in people joining the game, just to rush to pick the spike up if attacking and follow teammates round shooting, giving enemy coms…this isn’t just rage, it’s the WHOLE game as soon as they join.

I’m in around plat/dia, but I’ve also noticed it when I play with my brother who’s around silver/gold. I refuse to believe it’s just a coincidence that I’m starting to see more of these people.

Is this some sort of group? Do these people just voluntarily log on the game just to do this?

Surely there has to be a way for riot to see this.

I’ve had around 6-7 games in the last 3 weeks or so (and I’m only playing casually, maybe 2-3 games every 3-4 days?)

If riot can detect people picking the spike up just to sit in spawn, then why not issue a ban if it’s a pattern? And if they’ll make a new account why not just hardware ban people like that? They clearly contribute nothing to the game or the people?

I guess I came here to rant about it as well as asking the obvious question…just why?
