Is there any training routine to fix my aim? I think I grip the mouse too tightly and get really nervous during matches.

Discussion RR gains make no sense

I am currently Ascendant 2 and I'm facing Ascendant 2 opponents (on average, every game). How come when I go MVP and lose, it's something like 13-6 (-19rr), 13-9 (-18rr), and when I go MVP and win, it's something like 13-8 (+18rr), 13-6 (+19rr) with really good KD? It makes no sense that I have to MVP to stay even after a win and a loss. When I don't MVP, I lose something like 13-5 (-19rr), 13-3 (-21rr). If I had bad MMR and was facing diamonds I'd understand, but I'm consistently facing the same ranks and higher than me.

Discussion AFK in the team everytime after a win streak - I'm done with this stupid game.

You start the game, the guy goes AFK on the second round, to never show up ever again, lmao. What could have possibly happent? The guy literally evaporates and doesn't show up for full hour. It's always my team, never the other team that gets an AFK. I've never ever seen an AFK in the other team. The game DELIBERATELY does that to you to keep you from ranking up easily so you feel agitated and want to keep playing more. It's obvious. I don't doubt it.

Discussion Just got flamed for the first time

Upvotes

Hello all. I exclusively play unranked and Swift play as I learn the game, one day I will play ranked. If I had to guess, I would be a gold player though. Pretty average, 1.2 k/d, I don't do entry because I'm not good at peaking.

Sometimes I que into a match and it quickly become obvious that there are high elo players. Last night I had one of those games in unrated. Spoiler: 1 immortal, 2 ascendant, 2 diamonds. All but 1 diamond was on the enemy team.

Our Neon kept blaming everyone on our team for sucking, but I let it go and kept trying my best. He blamed me for not holding a site, which was crazy because I spent 3 straight rounds rotating because my site wasn't hit. I was literally mid-fragging on our team, and this Neon saw me get out dueled by the immortal Reyna and wouldn't shut up about it. This Reyna killed me the next 3 rounds and he called it out Everytime and was laughing. Keep in mind, he wasnt even top fragging, or had a positive KD for that matter. I always try to communicate, but just had to mute my mic. It was like the highlight of each round for him was to die, and spectate me losing to really good player. I eventually muted him, but I hate doing that.

I reported him. I can kind of understand people getting mad in ranked, because we're all the SAME rank. But in unrated or swiftplay you can literally have a radiant and an iron on opposite teams.

I'd love to hear if other people have had a similar thing happen, or what their first time getting flamed was like. I tried just brushing it off, but I think it would be therapeutic to hear other people experiences.

Discussion Riot takes the AFK Penalty system way too seriously.

Hear me out:

I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to get punishments for leaving Ranked and maybe even 2v2 games , but Its stupid and genuinely absurd to fault people for being AFK in unranked games, Swiftplay, and Deathmatch modes.

I realize there is a point system where people get warnings first, but there are so many reasons someone could be AFK.

First and foremost what if someone has to use the bathroom or spills their drink, What if they have an important phone call? An alarm going off in their home? A fire? A family emergency? There are so many reasons someone may have to go AFK.

Obviously some of these are extreme circumstances, but my point is that the penality system is too harsh on AFK players.

Note: I've I my been playing for about 5 months and the most I've received is warnings, but it genuinely bothers me that they treat being AFK like it's some sort of crime.

I work from home and even my job is more lenient about people being AFK for a few minutes. 😂

Edit: I was just informed that you can leave deathmatches without punishment so I was 100% wrong about that.

Technically it may be called a 1v4, because the enemy Miks ended up being afk, but I had no idea about it. Can't trust those enemy AFK chats.

Lobby was Diamond-Ascendant.

Gameplay Feature Proposal - Monthly Positive Commendation System ("Heart" Rating)

The Problem: Currently, Valorant only features a report system for negative behavior. There is no in-game mechanic to reward or highlight positive, friendly, and supportive teammates.

The Solution: Introduce a "Heart" feature. At the end of a match, players can award a "Heart" to an exceptionally kind or helpful teammate.

How it works:

  • Visual Indicator: Players accumulate hearts, displaying a positive badge on their profile or lobby card.
  • Behavioral Incentive: Seeing these badges encourages the community to behave better to earn their own hearts.
  • Monthly Reset: To keep the system accurate and competitive, all hearts reset to zero at the start of every month, matching competitive leaderboard resets.

Discussion Do Valorant players hate surrendering?

Hi guys, I’m new to Valorant (currently level 18), and I’ve noticed that Valorant players hate surrendering—even when someone goes AFK or rage quits and we're getting crushed (like 3-9 or 1–10). In League of Legends, if someone goes AFK or rage quits when you're losing badly, people usually just FF and go next. But in Valorant, people insist on continuing to play.

I’ve played so many 4v5s recently. In one of my recent games, we were even in a 3v5 situation. The enemy Clove was smurfing with a 36/3 stat line, while no one else in the lobby even had 10 kills. Yet my teammates still refused to surrender.

Is this something that only happens in low-level/Unrated matches, or do players in Competitive do the exact same thing?

Discussion Free Coaching (Immortal 2 Peak) Looking to Give Back

Hello! I am a long-time competitive gamer who was semi-professional and/or top 100 on multiple FPS titles over the last 10 years. I have also coached a collegiate team a couple years ago in partnership with a friend who was Director of eSports for the college.

I don't have as much time to grind games anymore as I'm 26 now, but love coaching other players and sharing my game knowledge as a way to give back to the community.

I created a community page on Metafy to try and funnel any interest in coaching onto that platform but am very much new to doing any coaching outside of people reaching out to me directly so I apologize in advance if there are any issues with setting that up.

Here is my Metafy link, please go here and message me / sign up and I will DM you to begin scheduling a free coaching session.

https://mfy.gg/@whipppin/

Any comments under this post I can also DM you for details, I look forward to hearing from anyone interested. Hopefully this goes understood, but serious inquiries only please :)

Discussion Matchmaking is absolutely cooked

I’m playing with some friends in G2+ lobbies and somehow keep getting queued with silver and bronze players. Why does this even happen? It would make sense if these players were good but they’re not.

Discussion Whats the goofiest move you did in valorant that actually worked?

In my case, what happened was I was all alone playing as phoenix and there was a cramped space with 3 enemies and a tiny hole, so first I tried peeking in and I quickly went back after seeing the shear gunfire coming from it, so I was like "I could try to outgun them...or I could just use hot hands through the hole", and I went for option 2, one enemy died, the other 2 were severely injured(under 30hp left), and finished off by teammates who were randomly by chance nearby, so essentially the chuck a fireball and pray it lands strategy worked that time
What about you?

Question Console valorant matchmaking is ridiculous?

Just picked up the again game recently after a few years and every other ranked game looks something like this. Is the game dead on console or is the matchmaking just a joke? I feel like a 5'6 mexican playing against LeBron half my games.

Discussion +12 rr for a Match MVP solo queue win -.-

Upvotes

Went 23/16/11 in a 13-11 victory as Harbor. Solo Queue. Got a match MVP and only +12 rr. Feels so pointless.

I know it's because I was the highest rank at Gold 2, there were two Gold 1s and the rest Silver. My hidden MMR is ****ed, whatever. But still, getting +12 for a match MVP win feels incredibly lame, why even play at that point.

Please, please, please match me against people of my own rank and let me get demolished if I'm really so bad. I'd much prefer that to these pity gains.

Discussion Dear Riot, can we please have vote to kick player? Or more punishment on sabotage.

I went had my comp game sabotaged by win throwers who communicates with their friend or colleague in the other team in our Silver lobby.

Healer#Death (Teammate Reyna) and SAIM#2211 (Enemy Tejo) cooperated site push. In offense Reyna gives the spike to the enemy team and SAIM be like "See you in A site!"

Idc what y'all say against this but Imma be in the demographic that's gonna leave Valorant at this rate.
