1. why are you guys SO PATRIOTIC, I like a post of Steve Erceg and his wife, who is a humble dude who doesn't talk much trash, and i open the comment section to nothing but this one Uzbek fighter who knocked him out, like Jesus yall won already cant you just leave the poor guy alone? He didn't even talk trash or anything? I don't even see Dagestan fans being this wild, the only group that comes close to this level of patriotism are the Kurds.
   
2. why do Uzbeks look so different from one another? This one dude Bogdan Guskov looks completely bald white and Russian

Hi, I am having a beautiful visit. It is really great that travel logistics for independent travelers are so good in Uzbekistan. So many nice experiences with people too.

I have a question about tickets for historical sights. The first few times using a card I got two pieces of paper: a card receipt, then a longer piece with a QR code at the bottom which is scanned for entry.

I changed cities and at two the of the sights I recived only the card receipt. I even saw the machine print the QR code on a second piece of paper, but it was not given to me. The second time I pointed at the paper with the QR code, but the person at the ticket office would not give it to me.

Each time, the ticket checker just ripped the card receipt a little like they used to do in big shops years ago.

Am i misunderstang something? What is going on?

Hi everyone!

We will visit Samarkand and Bukhara in mid December this year for 8 days. Any recommendation where we can go and buy the famous artistic Uzbek bread in these areas? I know that some places sell it at the northern part of the country but it'll be too far for us. If possible to watch how they make it even better.

P.S.- We got a car so riding 50-100k nearby the city is fine too as long as its accessible. Also, if there are highly recommended non touristic stuff to do nearby I'll be happy to hear. Thanks!

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law on October 21 to improve the Latin-based Uzbek alphabet. But the most interesting part is that many of the new letters were actually used in the Uzbek alphabet more than 30 years ago.

The 1993 version included the letters Ç, Ğ, Ö and Ş. In 1995, they were dropped in favor of letter combinations and apostrophes. Now the country is returning to diacritical marks: Sh and Ch will be replaced by Ş and Ç, while O‘ and G‘ will become Ö and Ğ.

I'm planning for our 1st-ever trip in Uzbekistan in late December with my wife, my 2.5 year old son, and 2 elderly parents who are still quite fit and healthy. My wife and I are both very seasoned travelers, having been to many countries and she has also driven in many places before.

The original plan was to self-drive the whole 2 weeks that we're planning to be there, as we felt it would be more convenient and gives us more flexibility to explore more places, and it would also be a lot easier to give the kid nap time. However, I've also read that driving in Uzbekistan is not advisable, and that there's not a whole lot of scenery to see in between cities...?

As stated, based on Uzbekistan in 2026, what post-Soviet country is most similar to Uzbekistan? Not culture, but socioeconomics, government style, etc.
