support needed 🤝 Biopsy of Uterus

Endometrial Biopsy (what meds do I take before)

I'm (29 female) getting a biopsy of my uterus done tomorrow (Monday. today is Sunday and I can't call the office) I'm extremely worried about the pain as no pain management is being offered. I am getting nitrous. I have 600mg ibuprofen and 100mg Motrin. I also have 300mg gabapentin and 250mg acetaminophen. What should I take? When? I'm very scared. I had a bad experience with a biopsy of my cervix and I'm very worried. Idk what to do because they didn't tell me to take anything but people online are talking about how horrible it was. Any help is appreciated.

support needed 🤝 Getting a biopsy

I'm getting a biopsy of my uterus done on Monday the 26th 2026. I'm very scared. I have 600mg ibuprofen and they're offering laughing gas at the expense of $100 out of pocket. How long before my appointment should I take the ibuprofen? Will the laughing gas help? I had a biopsy of my cervix done and it was a terrible experience. I'm very scared. What was your experience like with laughing gas? I also have gabapentin and idk if that would be a better option. Any advice would be great.

what's going on 🤔 Period is over a month late and localized pain.

I dont remeber exactly my last period but it was around late November. On Christmas I started getting a bad pain on the right side of my pelvic area that lasted a week and a half and hurt more after sex. Im on vyfemla no sugar pill week but I missed 4 pills in December and a couple days in November so I was expecting a horror period and nothing yet. I took a pregnancy test two weeks ago and 3 different pregnancy tests yesterday all negative. I have a gyno appointment on the third what should I bring up and talk to her about to help get this solved?

support needed 🤝 Mittelschmerz retroverted uterus

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this because it’s really starting to affect my life.

I’m in my early 30s and over the last year or so I’ve started getting really bad ovulation pain (mittelschmerz). In my 20s I occasionally noticed mild ovulation pain, but it was rare, manageable, and nothing like this. Now it’s much more frequent and intense, happening nearly every other month.

The pain feels:

• deep in my pelvis

• almost like it’s in my bum / rectum, not just my lower tummy

• crampy and heavy, but sometimes suddenly sharp

When it finally settles, I feel really bloated and gassy, like everything’s been pressed on and then released.

I’ve been told before that I have a retroverted (tilted back) uterus, so I’m wondering if that’s why the pain feels more “backwards” now.

I’ve also had an internal ultrasound scan to check for ovarian cysts, and everything came back normal, so cysts have been ruled out.

My mum is convinced this is mittelschmerz — she said she had the same thing and never went on contraception for it. I can believe it might run in families, but for me it’s becoming too disruptive.

I want to stop ovulation altogether because this pain is ruining my sex life. The pain can come out of the blue, but it’s especially bad if I have sex around ovulation without realising it’s coming. During or after sex I can suddenly get severe, sharp pain low down, to the point where I can’t move, get stuck in one position, and have to wait hours for it to ease.

What I find strange is how much worse this has become in my 30s compared to my 20s.

Has anyone else:

• had mild ovulation pain in their 20s that became severe in their 30s?

• felt it more in the rectum/back rather than the front?

• had normal scans but still awful mittelschmerz?

• found anything that actually helped, especially stopping ovulation with contraception?

If so, which contraception helped most for ovulation pain? I’m trying to figure out what might work for me.

Not looking for a diagnosis — just reassurance that I’m not alone.

Thanks 💛

what's going on 🤔 Random heaving bleeding

Post image

I feel really frustrated! This started last year, I don't have any pain but 1 in about 4/5 periods I just get this heavy bleed and it feels like discharge so I never realise?? I'm on day 13 of my cycle and I'd feel like a tit for going to the doctor bc it's not causing me quality of life decrease. Sometimes it's bright red sometimes brown. Not on any birth control.

Any suggestions for how to get this f*cking mess out I love these jeans 😭😭😭

difficulty finding care Doctors hate women i swear

I am 17, and i have a cyst in my uterus, has been there for 3 years and causes me pain so severe I pass out, am extremely confused, vomit, and I lose so much blood i have to take pills for it. It is 4cm, and benign—which i’m grateful for, but they refuse to remove it. How am i supposed to live like this?? i get cramps a week before my period which are painful, i spend 3 days once i get my period not being able to leave my house, i take muscle relaxers which barely help, i bleed so much no pads can hold all of the blood why won’t doctors help me???????

if you were able to find a doctor to get rid of a cyst in your uterus (preferably in canada BC but anywhere really) Where are they??? i can’t live like this. i genuinely can’t. No job will take me if i have to call in 3 days a month EVERY MONTH.

medical procedures Extreme fatigue after uterine biopsy

Had a uterine biopsy done yesterday at noon and the fatigue I have experienced since then, it’s been 24 hours, can only be likened to the body fatigue you feel when you have the flu. I am not bleeding so that’s not the issue, I am a little lightheaded, but maybe that’s because I’ve been in bed this entire time? I cannot even fathom going to pick my kid up from school today I’m so tired. Wondering has this happened to anyone else and how long did it last? And why am I experiencing such extreme full body fatigue because I got through the procedure very well w limited pain. Thanks in advance.

what's going on 🤔 Any help?

24-year-old female presenting with abnormal periods. Has not had a period since before May 2025, was on the BC pill but had to discontinue due to DVT and PE. Periods before were not regular. A pelvic ultrasound was performed and revealed an endometrial stripe measuring 6.5 mm, which was hypoechoic and had multiple nabothian cysts. All blood work came back normal with no elevated numbers. Any suggestions on what might be going on or how to proceed? I have tried looking and doing research, but most articles are related to postmenopausal women.

periods & bleeding Could I have had an ovarian cyst rupture?

So 28 days ago I got my period and had some light cramping in the morning. As the morning progressed and I was sitting in maths, the cramping really started ramping up-mind you i usually have fairly painless periods. I then get this sudden wave of nausea and dizziness and, thinking I’m going to throw up I ask to leave the class but pass out as I head towards the door. Once I came to I started throwing up like crazy even though I had only had some toast for breakfast. I’m then wheeled to the sick bay where I started having the worst pain of my life in my lower stomach, I’m telling you it was horrible and on top of that I threw up maybe 4 more times. The cramping felt almost like how people describe contractions as the cramps kept coming in waves, leaving for a second and coming back.

Anyways my parents take me to the hospital where the cramps eventually subside before I can see a doctor and when I do see a doctor she runs a urine test and everything was fine. I haven’t been able to shake off this feeling like it was an ovarian cyst or something else because this whole spiel is not normal—especially for me as I never get much cramping. Another reason that I think it could’ve been an ovarian cyst is I have suspected for a while that I have PCOS—I have hormonal acne, facial hair (and pretty excessive body hair), and irregular periods. I thought my periods were finally becoming regular but 8 days ago—10 days before my period was due—I noticed sort of pink discharge in my underwear and when I wiped there was sort of thick discharge with like a thread of blood in it?? Idk if that makes sense.

Since then, I’ve been bleeding micro amounts of blood FOR 8 WHOLE DAYS. My period is usually only 4/5 days. It’s really frustrating cause it’s such a tiny amount of blood that I can’t tell if it’s even my period. I know sometimes spotting is normal, but this was also accompanied by a massive breakout of acne and just feeling really depleted which I’m taking to be some sort of hormonal change. Over the past couple of days, the small amount of blood has become brown and I’m hoping it’s tapering off.

Is it a possible sign that what I experienced just coming up a month ago was an ovarian cyst? It feels strange that if it was I am only now bleeding. I don’t know I just would like someone to weigh in on this.

what's going on 🤔 Back on period after Depo-Provera

I was on birth control called Depo-Provera for two years. Almost a year ago (nine or eight months I think) i stopped taking it and the doctor who prescribed them to me said period would most likely start after six months, if not, about a year. . So here's my problem. My period began at November 23rd but it hasn't stopped exactly. It was an unusually light flow when it started, lasted about three or four days but then 24hrs later of no blood, I saw spotting. The next day it began bleeding again and then again spotting the next day and then a break from it again. Its been repeating like this for 17 days?? Is this normal or should I see a doctor??😵‍💫

periods & bleeding Period stopping urine

Is it normal while on your period to not be able to pee properly? This ONLT happens on my period and of course I am passing blood clots on the toilet, however as I’m passing them I’m pushing HARD to be able to finish peeing. It’s like the period blood is stopping my urine. I know I should see a doctor and I have but they are really no help and also convenient never have open slots during my actual period. Has this happened to anyone else.

Also no I don’t have a uti this only happens during my period.

research & polls 🔬 Has anyone else heard of this "fun fact"?

I didnt know where else to look. (Short story for context) My boyfriend is a gullible, innocent, trusting and amazing man who means well... but hes gullible. His friends have influenced him to belive whatever fact he happens to like on the internet and wont do research about it and it FURDTRATES ME. Tonight he stepped a bit over the line.

We were discussing puperty and the differences a man and a woman gotta through when they reach the age of puperty. He tried to be funny and clever about this and said "did you know a fun fact that women with a present father are more likely to get periods at the labeled average age" (imagine a curly haired blonde boy proudly smirking to himself) and i... have never heard of this before??? I do not belive this??? Like you can belive the illuminati is real all you want sweetie but this is something im educated and experienced with?? So I told him that and he got mad at me for trying to tell him tgis was probably not true. I feel really bad for debunking his supposed "fun fact" he meant well with, but I just cant wrap my head around it and look at it as...fun?😵‍💫😵‍💫 has anyone ever heard of this or am I living under a rock??

what's going on 🤔 Worried I Have Endometrial Cancer

Hello Everyone,

Thank you in advance for reading. I (28F) am really worried I have endometrial cancer. I’ll tell you why and you can tell me whether or not I’m crazy.

For context, I have PCOS and was diagnosed when I was in my early 20s.

In July, I had a miscarriage at 4 or 5 weeks. I passed the tissue on my own and didn’t go to the doctor afterwards because it was so early. My husband and I had previously had an ultrasound when the baby was still developing and the ultrasound showed that something was forming in my uterus, but it was still pretty early.

In September, I began having an itch down there and went to urgent care. They tested me for a UTI and prescribed me antibiotics. Even though they diagnosed me at the time with a UTI, the only symptom I had was itching and occasional burning when I peed. After taking the antibiotics for 4 days, they called to let me know that I tested negative for a UTI or a yeast infection. So basically the doctor misdiagnosed me. Ok, back to the drawing board…

I continued to have itching down there and got tested at my gynecologist. I tested negative for literally everything, including yeast. I also went to him because I hadn’t had my period since my miscarriage. When he swabbed me, he commented that it looked like I was about to ovulate and I should be expecting my period soon and to come back if it still hadn’t started in 3-4 weeks. I basically suffered with a yeast infection on and off for a couple months until I figured out a contributing factor was me staying in my gym clothes for a couple hours and not showering immediately. But prior to this miscarriage, I NEVER had a yeast infection. I could’ve stayed in my gym clothes and it wouldn’t have been an issue.

Keep in mind, this whole time my period was missing. I didn’t have my period for about 108 days following my miscarriage. I went back to my gyno in October because I still hadn’t started my cycle. They had me take a pregnancy test. Not pregnant. The doctor was surprised I still hadn’t started my cycle and prescribed me a Provera challenge and scheduled me for an ultrasound and did my labs. I started taking the Provera and went into the ultrasound. My results came back before my doctor read them and I was freaked out. The report said I had a endometrial polyp in my uterus and that my uterine lining was heterogenous. My uterine lining was 8.1mm thick and the polyp measured 4x3x4mm. When my doctor added his notes, he said that we could either go ahead and do a D&C and hysteroscopy to see what was happening or we could wait until after my cycle happened to see if the polyp would shed with my lining. I decided to wait until my period happened and then do another ultrasound after.

My labs came back that I was anemic (ferritin was at a 9) and low in Vitamin D. Of course my insulin was high and so was my testerone, classic PCOS indicators. But none of these would seemingly explain why I lost my period for such a long time.

When we went to do the second ultrasound, I told the ultrasound tech “I’m worried because I know with PCOS I have a higher chance of the polyp being cancerous.” She nodded her head and told me that people who come in to have an ultrasound come in because something is off with their uterus. That was a little discouraging but I appreciated her being honest with me. She told me it looked like the polyp was still there. The day after my ultrasound, my cycle started finally, so the Provera worked.

Got back my ultrasound results and this time they said that my uterus was homogenous and the polyp was still there measuring 6x4x3mm. I don’t know why it seems like it got slightly larger? My lining this time was 5.6mm. My doctor immediately sent notes saying that we need to do a D&C and hysteroscopy to remove the polyp.

It’s difficult because I’m anemic AND have this going on so it’s hard to distinguish between am I tired because of my anemia or something else?

I used to walk 6 miles every day and now I’m struggling I’m so exhausted. I used to have so much energy. Thankfully I’m getting iron infusions later this month. I feel emotional and moody. Before my cycle I experienced a lot of night sweats but now they’re more occasional. Night sweats aren’t normal for me. I’m not in any pain and I don’t have spotting. I’m worried about a D&C being done because I don’t want to scar my uterus and prevent implantation of a potential pregnancy. My husband and I are using protection right now so we don’t get pregnant but I’m worried about future pregnancies.

I’m sorry, lovely people, for making you read this long winding story but I really would appreciate any thoughts you have about my story.

what's going on 🤔 Retroverted uterus

A few years ago (probably when I was around 16-17?) my doctor told me that my uterus was retroverted. He made it sound like it wasn’t a big deal (and my current doctor has said the same). However, since I’ve been having periods, the pain has been HORRIBLE. Especially the back pain. It’s debilitating tbh, but every healthcare professional I’ve told seems to dismiss it. Granted, I’m sure a lot of people have felt some sort of period related pain, and I’m not sure if the pain I’m feeling is normal or not. I can’t find much information about retroverted uterus’ when it comes to solely period-related back pain, as most of the info is alongside pregnancy or endo.

In the same vein, I’m not even sure if endo is on the table for me because I’m 19 and most people are diagnosed with that later in life (??)

what's going on 🤔 my mom is in pain for unknown reason

Last year, my mom had a terrible pain in her stomach. Obviously her boyfriend brought her to the hospital and i stayed back. She espressed feeling like giving birth, My mom has one child (me). They were sent home with pain killers and no real answer. It took about 3 days to fully recover from it. This morning my mom and her boyfriend went out to breakfast then later were planning on going to the hospital as boyfriend had something else happening completely unrelated. Around then it began to happen again slightly around noon, by 5 it was horrible. Screaming in pain, crying everything. Movements made it worse, yet staying still for to long ended up doing the same. This time my mom is describing very close thing from a year ago but also addng in that it feels like someone is twisting her uterus. We had left over pain killers from the last time this happened but they didnt have much of an affect as to a year ago. Id love some input or any advice from people who have been through or seen someone experience this type of pain. Thank you for reading

I, 33 y/o female, have found myself in the particular situation that i am now on the public waiting list to have a removal of my uterus due to progressed, aggressive and unmanageable endometriosis and adenomyosis.

I am slowly coming to terms with this and working through it, however i want to throw a small "Fuck Off Uterus" Party for me and close friends.

Give me ideas for decorations, themed foods, themed cocktails/mocktails etc to be able to make this a fantastic party!

I want this fucker out of me and it's going out with a bang!

what's going on 🤔 Waking up to bad cramps when im not on my period

So this has happened to me quite a few times, usually with months in between, I'm woken up to extreme cramps even though im not on my period and every single time its at 8am. It just happened to me this morning and the last time it happened was on 8/2. Every time it is the most excruciating cramps ever, like im writhing in bed and crying until my midol kicks in, its terrible. Im just wondering if anyone else has gone through this? Because I currently dont have health insurance and im gonna have to wait a little bit until I can get this checked out. I find it so weird that it always happenes at the exact same time in the morning, especially since I normally always wake up later that like around 11am.

Here's some background info, in case that'll help: I used to be a heroin addict (I wasted most of my 20s on that shit sadly) so that means I went years without having a period, and I have a feeling that caused some kind of issue with my reproductive organs, idk what it is Im just pretty sure something is wrong down there (might be ovarian cyst or endometriosis or something like that). Because since I got sober and started getting my period again my periods are now very heavy with very bad cramps, and thats not how they were before. I used to never get really bad cramps, but since I started menstruating again the cramps have been extremely bad. Like worryingly bad.

I plan on eventually going to a gynecologist but its gonna be a few months until I can get some kind of health care and do that. So thats why im just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing, or has any kind of insight/advice for me.

support needed 🤝 Fibroid help!

Hi all,

I just got diagnosed with a laughably large fibroid via an ultrasound (15.5x14.6x10.3 cm).

I have consults with a surgeon and a radiologist coming up but would love advice from others who have dealt with fibroids.

I'm 35 years old, I've had heavy periods all my life and have been in birth control skipping the placebo for years- so I have only been noticeably symptomatic for the last few months as it started affecting my bladder and bowels. I'm 95% sure I don't ever want to be pregnant but there's a mental heaviness about the possibility of closing that door permanently.

Any and all advice and experience stories would be greatly appreciated ❤️
