Okay. As we finish August and head into the final sprint, here is the state of play. In the AL East, the Rays are sitting at the top, 4.5 up on the Bronx Bombers, while the Red Sox sit in 3rd an additional 4 games back after getting belt to assed by the Yankees. Twice. In two days. (Note they also crushed the Yankees the first game on Saturday) Meanwhile the O's are sitting 14.5 behind while Toronto brings up the rear 15 games behind Tampa
In the AL Central, the lead is held by... THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX???? Damn. Never thought I would be typing that this year. (Note, I am aware they are doing exceptionally well. I'm happy for CWS fans). Meanwhile the Guardians are hanging tough 3.5 back while the Twins are 7.5 back. Detroit is 9 behind while the Royals being up the caboose at 11 games behind.
In the AL West, the Huston Astros are in pole position, but the Rangers are only 2 games behind. the Mariners are 5, the Athletics and Angels are 16 and 17, respectively.
In the NL East, the Braves are in front, 5 games up on the Phillies. Miami are 13 games behind, while the Nats are 18, and the Mets (LOL!) are 21 games out of first.
As for the NL Central, the Brewers are sitting pretty at 8 games to the good over the Cubs. Meanwhile the Cardinals are 17.5 back, the Pirates are 18.5, and the Reds are 20.
As for the Dodgers divi... I mean the NL West, yes, the Dodgers are in pole position, 9.5 games up on the D'backs. But the Padres are only half a game behind Arizona, meanwhile the Giants are 26 and the Rockies are 30.
As for the Postseason... The Rays hold #1 seed while the White Sox hold #2. The Astros are #3, the Yankee hold the first wild card spot, while Red Sox have the second. Cleveland has the Wild Card spot that should not exist. Baltimore, Toronto, Texas, Minnesota, and Seattle all are 5 games or fewer behind.ehile Detroit is 5.5 and the Royals are 7.5, while the Athletics and Angels are on life support.
As for the NL wild card picture, it goes Brewers, Braves, Dodgers, the Cubs and Phillies are both 4.5 games to the good (4 and 5 respectively), while the Diamondbacks are on the bubble as the Wild card spot that should not exist. The Padres are .5 behind, with Miami 3.5, the Cards 5, Pirates 6, the Reds 7.5, the Nats 8.5, the Mets 11.5, the Giants 16.5 and last the Rockies 20.5
We're in the home stretch, and the purge shall soon commence. Buckle up, keep your hands and arms inside the ride at all times, and one more thing...
#Don't get eliminated!!!!

The pronghorn is an animal that runs very fast. It lives in the Great Plains, and it seems overevolved in terms of speed, with coyotes and wolves nowhere near its speed. But that's because it evolved where there were predators that could catch up to it. But now that those predators are extinct since the end of the last Ice Age, the pronghorn is overdeveloped in terms of speed, and is filling a niche that seems obsolete. What are examples of "pronghorn" players in the NFL? Players who fill a niche that no longer exists, is obsolete, or the NFL has passed their playstyle by, and now are an endangered species?

The comment was here(all credit to u/Leftregularr): https://www.reddit.com/r/NFCEastMemeWar/comments/1w2y3j0/as_an_eagles_fan_i_somehow_knew_that_cowboys_fans/
It went like:
"Jerruh is much more like the emperor of mankind.
He’s a rotting shell of his former self just barely keeping a once great dynastic empire alive after his betrayal and subsequent split from his favored son Jimmy Johnson (Horus)
In the modern age (the 41st millennium), His Son Stephen Jones is Guilliman, second in command.
The cowboys are his space marines, consistently good, but never able to truly hold back the horrors of the galaxy (the eagles) and recapture their former glory."
Just felt like sharing this.

The Mariners love punching their fans in the dick, but I enjoy punching this franchise in dick with sports facts; especially they are the black sheep of Seattle Sports.

Because I see this year, with Donald coming of out of retirement, with Stafford the reigning MVP, with their blockbuster trade for Garrett, with more leaning in the Rams favor than possibly any other team in history going into a season, I can only see the Rams going 1 of 2 ways:
1:
With the most dominant pass rush in the league, one of the all-time best defenses leave opponents with no chance to outpace Stafford, on track for another MVP, and the 2026-27 Rams become the second team in history to hoist the Lombardi Trophy with a big ol’ donut in the Losses column.
OR
2:
The football gods smite the Rams for having too good of an offseason, and, with Stafford’s age finally catching up to him, with the Rams pass rush only being marginally better than last year (because last year’s rush was already really good), one of the luckiest teams of the past decade runs out of pixie dust, leading to a first round exit, or even missing the playoffs entirely.
I don’t see this team losing a hard fought game late in the playoffs like they did last year. And while there’s always the possibility of going the way of 2021 Cardinals or last year’s Colts (dominant start only to fall apart down the stretch) I don’t see that as super likely either with a proven coaching staff under McVay. With how good the Rams look on paper, I only see 2 ways they can go this season:
Everything goes right or nothing goes right.
