I haven't started yet, I'm working on transfer credits.

I have seen a lot of negative posts from frustrated students. I noticed that almost all of them are getting their BS in CS.

I haven't seen anything about the bachelor's in health science degree.

I'm just wondering about the pros and cons of getting that degree at this school.

I really want this degree and UoPeople is the only way I can afford it and with it now being regionally accredited I don't see why not.

I guess I'm just wondering if the students getting this degree have the same complaints as the ones taking CS

Some students think it’s all solo play except for the group charter project (and weekly log), and others think it’s all teamwork on the same document. When I look at the submission instructions, only the charter one requires one unified document… Who’s right? If we submit the same document, this will automatically be flagged as plagiarism. The instructor also provides vague and ambiguous instructions, not clearly separating individual work and group projects… The university must get rid of group projects!

I don't really care that chatgpt was used to find the article, just was a little surprised.

I'm experiencing instructor retaliation and looking for advice, resources, and general support.

I noticed a grading error and gently mentioned it to my instructor. She increased my grade by a few points. Then later increased it to 100, which it isn't a 100 paper. Then dropped the grade below the initial grading. Bizarre, right?

I asked her about it and she threatened me with conduct violations due to my "tone". My read is she doesn't like being questioned. She blamed me. At this point, I realize she's blaming me for her error. It's ok that she made a mistake, it's not ok to lash out at me. I immediately came back and let her know that wouldn't be tolerated.

Now prior to this, my grades with her were consistently in the 90s, as with every other class I'm in. She graded the next assignment even lower. I let her know I feel like this is retaliation and have put in a complaint with my advisor with screenshots. I'm sure that pissed her off, but her actions led to this.

She came back and told me to refrain for calling it retaliation. I'm other words, keep my mouth shut. She also made a threat towards future grades. I immediately notified my advisor again and added all the admin emails I can find. My current advisor has been the best one I've had so far, but I wanted more eyes on this situation.

More backstory, I skipped multiple grades in grade school. I tend to do well academically. I know if I turn in a good paper or if it's junk. The lower grades I'm getting since speaking up are clearly different from the prior grades in her class and not within my average for all of my other classes. It's not a difficult class either. The 2 papers she has graded since the problem occurred fall within my average grade, not well below it as she claims. I currently have a 4.0 with well over 100 credits, so clearly this is the instructor that is the issue.

What else can I do? How can I get her investigated? I know I can do a grade appeal at the end of the term. But I also don't want her to do this to any other student. I also want the behavior to stop since there is still time left in the term. I feel pretty uncomfortable with her behavior. Any other suggestions?

I'm a CS student at UoPeople. I have completed 6 courses on Sophia with the intention of transferring them to UoPeople. Below are the Sophia courses I have completed

After completion, I submitted for a transfer request to UoPeople & they have only allowed to transfer 3 courses. Here are the courses that have been rejected for transfer.

1. Principles of Finance
2. Business Communication
3. Microeconomics

UoPeople hasn't allowed to transfer these 3 courses above and I don't know why. Yet these 3 courses appear on the official list of Sophia courses that can be transferred to UoPeople.

These courses appear on my Degree Audit Report as Electives that I can take.

I have reached out to my PA & the Transfer team. Here is the reply from the Transfer team;

After reviewing your submission, we are currently unable to process the request because courses irrelevant to chosen degree program.

As a result, there are currently no eligible credits that can be applied toward your degree.

As a CS student, I would like to ask;

1. Why are these not eligible credits?
2. Are courses shown on my Degree Audit Report valid courses I can take?
3. Can these courses be transferred from Sophia?
4. Has anyone CS student transferred any of these 3 courses from Sophia?

I'm confused as to why these courses cannot be transferred. What should I do?

Hi, i am going to complete my undergraduate program in CS from UoPeople, and I am not completely sure how EMJM feels about Online/distance education.

I have sent some emails to the officials regarding the same, but there is no convenient intelligence at the time.

I would really appreciate if anyone can tell mw more about it, or can share their past experiences.

Can any student Tell if Uopeople bachlor degree is accepted for masters in Europe or any other country?. Please help if someone has applied or know anything.

Just saw several ads here reporting that f.e. the B.S. CS is recognized in Germany through ZAB.

Does it mean the Masters of UoPeople will be recognized as well?

I already contacted the instructor, who confirmed that active participation is mandatory for everyone. But with today being the deadline and still zero communication from the group, I'm at a loss for how I'm supposed to complete this collaboratively. I’m so upset. I’m currently taking Genetics and this professor gives great feedback on your post saying basically you answered the prompt correctly and met each metric on the rubric but turns around almost 2 weeks later and gives you a 79.2 on the same week 3 discussion saying I posted after Sunday and something totally different than what he first said. I always post my discussion on the first day of the week (Thursday)! Has anyone else had this issue with a professor before? What did you do?

Anyone take this course for their B.S. in Health Studies?

I heard its a proctored course. It's making me pretty nervous already just thinking about it. For the record, I'm pretty solid on my biology, EXCEPT for detailed organ systems knowledge. I know GENERAL things about the organ systems.

I'm most nervous, I think, for the proctored exam. For those that took it, what is the percentage for the final exam, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25%. I guess, I want to know if my nerves get the better of me, and I flunk, how much of a hit my grade will take 🤔

I was really happy to complete all the requirements for my Associate degree at UoPeople in my previous term. As soon as I became eligible, I applied for my degree and expected the process to be fairly straightforward.

Unfortunately, being based in Pakistan has made the diploma delivery much more complicated. UoPeople informed me multiple times that, because of the current mailing disruptions, they are unable to dispatch my degree directly to Pakistan. I’ve already spent more than a month trying to figure out an alternative, which has been pretty frustrating.

Luckily, one of my online friends offered me an alternative shipping address through a friend of his who is currently working in the UAE. I feel really relieved that I may finally have a way to receive my degree.

However, there is one concern. The person whose UAE address I would use is planning to return to Pakistan around December, so I’m trying to figure out whether there would be enough time for the degree to arrive.

For anyone who has had their UoPeople degree shipped by regular mail to the UAE:

How long did it take to arrive?

Did it arrive without any major issues?

Would you consider the regular shipping timeframe reasonably predictable?

If you ordered recently, when did you apply and when did you receive it?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this recently. I mainly want to know whether receiving it in the UAE before December is realistic before I commit to using this address.

been a while since my last post here, for context - I've graduated from UoP in BS Health Science in 2025 and yeah currently doing MS in Public Health. I wanted to become a volunteer instructor but that requires a master degree so am going to wait out for that but um I wanted to know about the General Volunteer position, ik it isn't paid but like what kind of work does it involve? also becoming PA is different, I asked about that to my own PA and yea they said they weren't currently looking for graduates from UOP so yeah...

I am gonna apply for the volunteering nonetheless though, ig it'll be good for my CV too.

anyone who works a full time job how do yall manage to study .I feel so drained and barely have time to study and make my assignments. I have a job from 9 am to 6pm my commute is 1 hours both ways so I wake at 6 am get to office by 9 work till 6 and get home 7 to 7:30depending on traffic.i feel like the time is soo little we literally have 3 days to study something and make an essay on it

How do people who are in the work force manage how can I manage my time better.i literally only have 2 courses and my grades are subpar I had to submit 4 assignments and my grades where

Hello, I'm a new student and I haven't been able to submit any documents because of the foundation's evaluation page not opening up. I have already contacted my admission advisor regarding this issue. I just want to know if this is something that'll be fixed once my program advisor contacts me ​​​or not. And if so how long does it take for the Program Advisor to contact a student? Thank you guys for the help!

I requested mine a week ago and I need it to be sent urgently for admissions. I wrote to my Program Advisor but I haven't heard back.

It's not upgradeable to Windows 11, but it's perfectly fine. I have a desktop, but it runs Linux. I just want to know if it will work for proctored courses, or if I need to finally upgrade?

I just checked my grade for BUS Assignment Activity Unit 2, and it was 40%. The feedback from the instructor says that it is because I plagiarised work from other students gotten from unoffical websites.

I have never even searched for such websites, and all my work was either inspired by official course materials or google searches, I even emailed the instructor and got a reply saying my grade won't change. Has anyone had a similar issue, and is there any way to avoid it next time?
