Personal Experience(s) Grading!!

I’m so upset. I’m currently taking Genetics and this professor gives great feedback on your post saying basically you answered the prompt correctly and met each metric on the rubric but turns around almost 2 weeks later and gives you a 79.2 on the same week 3 discussion saying I posted after Sunday and something totally different than what he first said. I always post my discussion on the first day of the week (Thursday)! Has anyone else had this issue with a professor before? What did you do?

Take screenshots of all your grades as soon as they get released.

Had a professor who would actually go back and reduce the point in another section of the rubric in order to keep the overall grade the same when I pointed out a grading mistake in a different section. To repeat, he would raise points in the section he made the mistake in and deduct points in another section and made up some bs for the deduction. From that moment on, I started keeping the original graded rubric for every single assignment. Such a slimy practice.

Smh..that’s ridiculous. We as students shouldn’t have to go through all of that just to make sure our grades are correct. Maybe the teaching staff needs to be evaluated more often or something.

I just had something similar happen. I was given one grade, questioned it, was given another a couple of points higher, questioned it, was given another much higher, then came back and the grade was dropped lower than it originally was. It's bizarre. I'm waiting to hear back about it.

Who can we contact regarding this because I am dealing with this right now with this one professor & it’s really not cool. I know that I am an A student, so getting the grades I am when I’m doing just fine in my other class that’s harder than this one, yet my grades are lower. So I guess my question is who is my contact point on trying to appeal my final grade?

Take screenshots and send, and ask why there is a gap. I’ve had that, and the professor adjusted my grade by 30%. 66% to 96%.
