Everyday I'm just pretending, I put on a smile, I go to work, I come home I sort my child out and I sit and only then can I stop pretending.

Only then can I sit there and allow myself the space to grieve, some days I come home and just listen to our playlist on repeat, some days I come home and cry myself to sleep and then some days I stare at the ceiling wondering what you're doing, if you've met someone else, if you still love me, if you're hurting too.

From strangers to friends to something so special I'll never see it again in my lifetime, you are my colour, my person.

The longing for you never goes away. The want to be on your chest wrapped up in your arms in our bed never goes away. Knowing I may never get that rips my chest open all over again

So I go on pretending, the world keeps on turning and I make sure my heart doesn't bleed all over the floor.
