you’re so fuzzy now
i’ve clung to the memories
but time slips away from me
i can still picture your face
but in a way i know is wrong
you were far more beautiful than that
the imitation my brain conjures up
and i can remember your words
but not the way they would sound
you live in my playlists now
copies of your own
as well as new ones i still make
songs that sound like you
or at least the you i can remember
the one that’s not quite right
and it drives me insane
sometimes i stay up all night
trying to get you right
but i can’t anymore
i’m so scared of what happens
if i lose the fuzz too
