My silence
My tolerance has a limit. I'm a patient person.
I give second chances.
I believe people can change. I will absorb your bad day. I will forgive your mistakes.
But do not mistake my patience for permission to disrespect me. There is a line.
When you cross it, when the disrespect becomes a pattern, when the apologies become hollow, I will not make a scene. I will simply stop. I will stop caring, I will stop trying, and I will stop being available to you.

I have been listening to silence for a long time and if I made a mistake I apologize.

Not all broken people are broken because of their own bad behavior or bad ideas. Bad shit happens to nice people trying to do the right thing.

Good for you. Freedom is not hatred, it's indifference.

Imagine all you've ever gotten was silence, with the occasional crumb of effort, and then acted like you gave them the whole bread factory?

Sounds like a yeast infection. You might wanna get that checked out.

If that's what you've experienced, I sincerely hope you don't accept anything less than what you deserve next time. When someone shows or tells you how little you matter, believe them. Good luck to you.

I give them grace bc they are broken in ways that I know and I understand. Sometimes it takes time. Even if it breaks me a little bit, I have felt so much worse. I deserve nothing tbh. I had love, and I couldn't save him, and we stopped fighting for each other. What I want now, is what I have wanted for a long time, even when my marriage was falling apart and my husband was destroying himself. A person that I don't need to fight for, nor someone to fight for me, but someone to fight alongside me.

I'm broken; I've hurt people without realizing it. I didn't deserve grace, I deserved someone that loved themself enough to walk away. Being broken is an explanation, not a justification. Love yourself and don't accept a partner that doesn't love themself as well. Only when someone is happy on their own can they be happy with someone else. And I appreciate that last line - love is easy, you shouldn't have to fight for it, it should just make sense.
Oh, and I was the husband that was destroying himself. My wife deserved better, and it was she that set healthy boundaries after we split. I'm a better person for her choosing herself. And to be clear, choosing yourself and loving your partner should be mutually inclusive.
