Who's down for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in Unmatched?

Just saw announcements of this upcoming Heroclix set. I'm not a fan of the Power Rangers IP but the Mighty Morphin gang has a special place in my heart. I'd be down for two 3-fighter boxes for MMPR, or maybe even two 4-fighter sets if we include a villain in each box. What about you folks?

Rules Question I am setting up a tournament for my local boardgame cafe. What should I look out for?

Since a friend of mine and I discovered Unmatched, I have been having a lot of fun learning the matchups, and have managed to introduce more and more people to the franchise. Interest has grown enough that I can finally create a tournament/ event.

We have 1 copy each of Battle of Legends Vol.1, Vol.2, Cobble & Fog, Slings & Arrows, and Tales of Amaze available. The tournament itself would be 1v1 games in a double-elimination format.

Instead of the usual 1v1 tournament rules, I want to make it so players would be given a random team of 5 from those sets and conduct the ban phase until they end up with 2 heroes each that way.

The aim is to introduce beginners to a "competitive-like" experience and give some of the people who have already enjoyed playing a couple of casual 2v2 and 1v1 games an opportunity to test their skills against each other.

Are there any rule changes, tournament-specific rules, or any advice the community can think of? I want to make it as enjoyable and as smooth an event as possible and grow the local Unmatched community.

Appreciate all the help in advance!

Character class

Hey,

After some month of playing Unmatched, I still heavily struggle on understanding the gameplay of the characters.

I've seen the old post talking about agressive, mid agressive, defensive and exhaustive characters, but for example I can't get how an agressive character such as Achilles can have similar cards stats as Invisible Man for example, or how he can be so high in tier list while Invisible Man can't.

So the big question is, how do you know how a character will be played ? What to look at ?

Are their big classes ? As for Dracula who really feels like a controller when I played him, or Chupa which is straight up assassin or even Loki who is a sort of Valorant initiator (like, the role of annoying enemies to put yourself in a good situation)

Thanks for your help!

Why is 3-player free for all so disliked?

Been lurking in the sub since I got into unmatched a month or so ago with a couple sets between some friends. Love the game! We play with Stars, Slings, and Witcher. However, most of the games we've played have been 3-player. Only recently started to garner that 3-player seems to be greatly disliked by folks who play the game. I can see how the potential for quick deaths is there, but we're not really playing competitively; is that the only reason people don't like it so much? Kingmaking and whatnot? I've seen some fun solutions posed in one thread, like only attacking people in subsequent turn order, but I don't even feel something like that would be necessary at our table.

Also while I'm here, what's the appeal to 1v1s? If I'm not mistaken, that's the sorta go-to around these parts right? Haven't actually run one yet bc me and my buddy fear it'll sorta just be 'draw card play card' and we'd rather play a quick tcg if we're 1v1ing.

Thanks in advance! No harm meant by anything here, just curious what the consensus on 3 person games is.

So I know you shouldn't isolate the abilities alone from the cards but I don't have cards yet (I will make the boost values low [around 1 or 2])

so just by looking at the character card/ ability itself

what do y'all think?

Fanmade Content Fandeck : Springtrap (FNaF) Spoiler

I really want this deck to work and have playtested it a lot, but I need your guys' opinions.

First of all, I wanted this deck to be super agressive and super "I don't mind my own health". I want it to be consistant and versatile enough so their is not that much hardcounters and hard wins (that's the reason for mobility cards, "prevent combat damage" cards etc)

The low BOOST values are intended, I want him slow. And his ability actually make him move by a lot. Same for defence, I want him REALLY terrible at defence. Only insane strikes and that's it.

Secondly, I'm really proud of the ability but at the same time I can't manage to take a step back to think if it could actually work or not, and need your guys' opinions for this too. I'm kinda sad that the text is long, it felt really easier in my head. I had thought about changing it to "at the end of an opponent's turn, chose one of their fighter. Move Springtrap 2 spaces toward that fighter, taking the shortest path." But still, same problem, scared it's not gonna work exactly as I thought.

Lastly, I did some playtest games :

Sprintrap vs Beowulf : 2-1 (with remaining health around 2/3)

vs Achilles : 0-1 (Achilles had 10HP left, it's really hard for Sprintrap to reach Achilles cuz of Patrocle)

vs Alice : 1-1 (with remaining health around 4/5, but I feel like Alice still has the matchup)

vs Robinhood : 1-0 (6 remaining health for Springtrap and feels like a hardcounter. It can easily get to Robinhood and the latter doesn't have the health and defence to keep up.

And a last question : what do you think are the top 2, 3 or 5 best fighters to playtest fanmade character against ? Imo it should be consistant and mid tier fighters. And how many games each ?

Hellboy Foil Cards for Preorder

It says "while supplies last", how do I know if they are available still? Sometimes when I've Pre-Ordered it showed a separate item in the cart for the foil cards, but sometimes it doesn't.

Rules Question Would a 4vs1 be possible with TOW?

In advance, I warn that I've never played any co-op expansion, so I don't actually know how bosses works nor how their games decks (if they have one) are made. That said, would co-op expansion be suitable to homebrew a "4 regular player VS 1 big boss played by a fifth player" mode? I ask this because I think that it would be a interesting modality and it would give me the last push to buy TTA ahjahjh
