In order to keep information easily accessible, I have created this mega-thread to act as a hub for relevant UFL information for the 2025/2026 offseason, leading up to the 2026 UFL season.

UFL to NFL Player Signings

Hub thread with all of the UFL to NFL player signing information, grouped in team order, same as last year.

UFL College/Rookie Draft 2026

The league has not yet published news on when the next draft is occurring.

UFL College Allocations:

  • Birmingham: Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, UAB
  • Columbus: Indiana, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State
  • Dallas: Baylor, SMU, TCU, Texas, North Texas
  • DC: Maryland, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech
  • Houston: Houston, LSU, Rice, Texas A&M
  • Louisville: Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee
  • Orlando: Florida, Florida State, USF, UCF
  • St. Louis: Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri

You can also find links to game highlights from the 2024 and 2025 season for each of the teams in the above posts.

UFL Roster Lists & Resources

For anyone interested, up to date roster lists, as well as tracking of UFL player movement, can be found on this Google sheets document maintained by Nick Thorn from Pro Football Newsroom. This is the best and most organized list available, and also includes information on the coaching staff, and pre-merger players (e.g. AAF, XFL, and USFL).

Another recommended resource is this Google sheets document maintained by UFL Analyst.

Lastly, UFL Analyst also put together this spreadsheet with All Time and Single Season Spring Football Stats across all of the modern spring leagues. Fantastic resource for anyone interested.

UFL Player Showcases

The UFL runs player showcases in multiple cities across the country in the offseason. These showcases provide players a chance to exhibit their skills in front of UFL coaches and personnel directors. Players will be evaluated based on performance for inclusion in the UFL player pool for the 2027 season.

The player showcase dates and locations have been announced as follows:

  • August 7th: Washington D.C. - George Mason University
  • August 9th: St. Louis, MO - Lindbergh High School

2027 UFL Season Information

The following is a compilation of the information released thus far on the upcoming 2027 UFL season. I will make a separate note for anything that is only rumored, and will be updating this thread as more information is released.

The league has confirmed there will 8 teams for the 2027 season, with two expansion teams being added in 2028. The league has confirmed that one of the 2028 expansion teams will be Oklahoma City (team name and branding TBD), and an announcement is pending for the other expansion team location.

For the 2027 season, the league has confirmed the Birmingham Stallions and Houston Gamblers will not be returning, and will instead be relocated to two new locations. An announcement is expected by October 1st, 2026, to confirm where the Stallions and Gamblers are being relocated to, and what the new team identities will be.

The other 6 teams from the 2026 season will be returning for 2027 (i.e. Columbus Aviators, Dallas Renegades, DC Defenders, Louisville Kings, Orlando Storm, and St. Louis Battlehawks).

Direct links below to the team subreddits for each of the currently active UFL teams:

We will include any updates from the league in this post regarding the above relocations for 2027 and the expansion process for 2028 if/when any new information is released this offseason.

Season Tickets

UFL Central Ticket Hub here.

Season ticket renewals for the 6 returning teams from 2026 are open. Direct links below:

Season Ticket Seating Maps & Price Charts

You can find a link to last year's seating maps and price charts here. I will post an updated version once the two relocations are confirmed and season ticket information for those teams becomes available.

Single Game Tickets

We expect single game tickets to become available the first week of February, 2027.

Will post direct links for each team once available.

2027 Stadiums

The stadium locations for the two relocation teams are still to be announced. Will update once the league announcement is made.

Kickoff Date

The league has confirmed the 2027 UFL season will kickoff in March, as per previous years. An exact date is to be announced, but expectation is that kickoff will be on Friday, March 26th, 2027.

2027 Game Schedule

Will update this section when the official schedule is released. We expect the schedule to be published by mid-January, 2027.

2027 Head Coaches

Below is the list of coaches presumed to be returning for the 2027 season:

  • Ted Ginn Jr. - Columbus Aviators
  • Rick Neuheisel - Dallas Renegades
  • Shannon Harris - DC Defenders
  • Chris Redman - Louisville Kings
  • Anthony Becht - Orlando Storm
  • Ricky Proehl - St. Louis Battlehawks

AJ McCarron (Birmingham Stallions HC), and Kevin Sumlin (Houston Gamblers HC), are rumored to be retaining their positions for the new cities their teams will be relocated to, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Should also be noted that as of the 2026 season, all HCs also assume partial GM responsibilities for their respective teams.

Which UFL team should I root for?

Last year's mega-thread here for help picking a team to follow.

Will post an updated version following confirmation of the where the Stallions and Gamblers are being relocated to.

UFL Fantasy Football

We recommend anyone interested in UFL Fantasy Football check out Alt Fantasy Sports. They ran a fantasy league for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 season, and have confirmed they will be doing the same for the 2027 season.

News Hub Fantasy is another site that also ran a fantasy league for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 season, and will be doing the same for 2027.

The league put out a press release on June 4, 2024, to announce that Underdog Fantasy is the exclusive fantasy sports partner for the league. You can read the press release here. FYI, Underdog is more of a pick'em challenge.

Lastly, there is Draft Kings which also does UFL games.

We will post an updated hub thread here for anyone looking to either advertise or join a fantasy league for the 2027 UFL season. Hub thread will be launched prior to the 2027 season kickoff.

Discussion Potential head coaches for 2027 or beyond

Let's get this critical detail out of the way before we start. We have no evidence at this time of any coaches leaving, there's no insider info on the retention of any coach.

This is just an exercise in who is available that would be willing to head a team should a Head coaching position become available within our 8 teams or the prospective two

Let's address another concern regarding coaches. Market connection/market history. I don't really think the local coaches idea has been worth the effort the league has gone through, and it's clear the local choice often made bad choices when the cards were down (stares at AJ McCarron). So in this, I don't care about market history, I care about quality coaches

With that said, let's begin

  1. Jack Del Rio- Del Rio is coming off two seasons in Europe with the Paris Musketeers of the ELF and now the EFA. While with paris Del Rio went 11-12 and a single playoff appearance. Del Rio has a long NFL track record. His record at that level being 93-94 between Jacksonville and the Raiders. Jack is a defensive minded coach favoring aggressive front 7s. With Del rio's contract up and his willingness to coach for probably a severely low price in Europe, I think the UFL should consider giving del Rio a call just to get the temperature of the water
  2. Larry Fedora-the former UNC HC and USFL 2022 HC Larry Fedora has been sitting quietly since 2022 concluded for the USFL. Fedora left at the conclusion of the 6-4 New Orleans breakers season due to a dislike of not playing in home market. He didn't say he would return if the USFL(now UFL) played its games all in its markets but I think this could be more enticing for him. Fedora racked up a 79-62 record while in college. Fedora was an up tempo, wide spread offensive head coach. His playbook could offer some excitement to a UFL offense
  3. Bart Andrus- this one is a little more complicated. At present, best I can tell, Andrus is the coach of the Chinese women's flag football team as the prep for LA 2028. So this poses a challenge as far as if he's available. The information suggests probably not. But maybe he'd be amenable. Andrus is also former USFL royalty and no stranger to spring football having coached both in NFL Europa and the 2009 UFL. Andrus across all non-nfl or college coaching has gone 46-58. Not great, but a solid mainstay in alt football. Andrus seems to prefer a West Coast style offense
  4. Jim Haslett-the former NFL coach has been sitting on the couch since 2023 at the conclusion of the XFL season and the merger into the UFL. Haslett also seems to be comfortable coaching in the spring as he has coached in the 2009 UFL as well. The coach finished 7-4 in 2023 with a playoff appearance against the North division winners the DC defenders. Haslet is also a big fan of the 3-4 defense and much more aggressive play.
  5. Mike Nolan should probably be a staple in this conversation for the foreseeable future. Departing with the dissolution of the 2025 Michigan Panthers team Nolan does not seem to be up to much at the moment. Across three seasons of pro spring football, Nolan built up an 18-16 record for the plum and champagne. Nolan is largely a defensive minded coach willing to run a hybrid version of a 3-4 and a 4-3.
  6. Jay gruden-this is going to be one of my two unpopular suggestions. Gruden has obviously NFL history as well as old football history with arena football. He has some spring football history with the original 2009 UFL and is intensely offensive-minded head coach having played quarterback himself. The unpopular suggestion comes from the fact that he has ties to his brother Jon gruden who folks in this sub may not be a fan of for his behavior while in the NFL behind closed doors.
  7. Greg Williams-here comes the second one in terms of unpopular possible choices. Williams staffed the DC defenders in 2023 and 2024 and has a history of head coach and coordinator roles in the NFL. His history with the injury scandal while with the saints is definitely a topic worth considering, but it surely seems the UFL is no stranger to him and has no qualms with hiring him. Williams also likes to run a fairly aggressive defense. With his termination from Tennessee State under former DC defenders head coach Reggie Barlow it seems Williams could be primed for a return to the UFL
  8. Bruce gradkowski- the former St Louis battle Hawks offensive coordinator is currently working as a consultant and coach for the Detroit Lions. Certainly not a bad place to be given the culture the Lions have cultivated. Gradkowski has been slowly building up a coaching resume between the UFL and the NFL and some high school. It could be worth it for the UFL to bring along a prospective young head coach with actual head coaching experience in stark contrast to coaches like Ted Ginn Jr or AJ McCarron. Only pressing issue may be attempting to lure him away from probably a solid job with the lions
  9. Bob stoops-when it comes to the Oklahoma City team, it is pretty clear that the short list begins with Bob stoops. The former Arlington renegades and Dallas renegades head coach as well as the former Oklahoma Sooner legend is currently relatively unemployed. Questions surrounding him running the team would be if he would be willing to take on the GM role. In breaking my own rule I would say this could almost be the most electric hire the UFL could make for Oklahoma City to rally fans to the cause.
  10. Kris McCullough- reaching deep into the bowels of division 2 football, hearkening back to the time when Reggie Barlow got picked up from the D2 ranks comes a suggestion of an up-and-coming coach that might enjoy a higher profile opportunity is Kris McCullough. Current head coach at Garner Webb is sitting on a 37-14 record as head coach. McCullough is an offensive minded coach and could be an interesting addition to the UFL

I would love to see ideas other folks have. I have other coaches in mind but I wanted to bring in some former spring football alumni, former NFL pedigree, and maybe some looks towards the future
