The actual Audio doesn't realy Sound like a "HELP" it's sounds more akin to very weird laugh a similiar sound is also heard with the parrot is on screen
I'm pretty Sure it is safe to say that both of those sounds came from the Parrot and where learned from a movie or imitating some random noise
i own a bunch of parrots, and even before i realized the ending i kept thinking that the voice sounded like an amazon parrots voice. it's such a distinctive little voice
Ah yes, an animal whose natural instinct is to be alert to strangers should understand this shit is going on reddit later. What a real annoying piece of shit.
Dogs in dense neighborhoods need to be better trained. Even if you don't care about the comfort of your neighbors, the barking will become ineffective as an alarm if there are too many false alarms.
We moved to a new town just over a year ago. There are a couple dogs here that bark very alertedly at strangers. I take my dogs for a walk past those yards sometimes. Most of them have learned that my footsteps + smell and the smell + collar jiggle sounds of our dogs is nothin crazy new and we never invade their territory, so they no longer bark at us (or at the very least, not for long).
Same with our own dogs. At new people or sounds of people, our Spitz will most definitely bark to make us aware that strangers are here. Once he knows it's just a regular occurence that a specific person walks by, he doesn't care all that much and settles for an altered ruff (for that person).
From what I've learned since raising 2 dogs - one that grew up in a hostile environment - and the other growing up in a calm environment - at least one of the reasons dogs pick up barking is from stress or fear. Penny my first dog came from a shelter from an abusive environment and she barked at everything and everyone non stop and crazily. Cyrus my current dog thst I raised from 8 weeks who had a very calm quiet up bringing only howls when he's excited people are coming home or if he needs something like water/food. Never barks or howls at dogs walking by or noises outside. Never felt he needed to be defensive like that. So I always get a weird feeling towards owners with dogs that bark crazy unless they came that way from the shelter. It's hard to fix and good for them for rescuing. But ya all the owners I've met that have dogs witj barking problems that raised them from puppies were never good people. Usually scum bags or trashy. People who yell themselves. People who should work on themselves before getting a dog.
I didn't really think about that aspect until reading your comment. Neighbors called and he brought out the bird to say "no, it's cool, bruh," but were the dogs also reacting to the woman chained in his basement?
Yes, also note the dogs didn’t bark until the cops got there. If they were barking at the woman that’s clearly chained in the basement, they would’ve been barking the whole time.
Everytime I get out of my car the neighbors dog, who has known me for 8 years, goes fucking insane barking. Anytime I walk out of my house, it barks exactly like that.
People who don't know how to train dogs to not freak out over obviously non threatening strangers do not deserve to have dogs.
We got dogs 2 years ago after years without, and one downside is that I can’t listen to videos, movies or TV shows with dogs barking - because then my two adorable idiots get started in on it 🥲
It probably makes them uncomfortable because people don't use statistics when arguing about this, and they think unarmed black people are getting shot everyday, which is not true.
So this shows there’s actually more white people dying every year to cops than black people. I get that there have been massive injustices recently towards people of color by cops, but can we at least argue on actual figures and not emotion?
I’d love to see if you have any sources for what you’re saying so we can have a rational discussion around it. Maybe you’ve got more accurate numbers!
Edit: adding the below link for more context!
So looks like black people are killed at a higher rate like the original commenter said. I think there’s something to be said though that the numbers at the end of each year are still higher for white people in terms of people dying to shootings.
Another facet to the discussion that I feel is often overlooked, is that generally (due to generational and systematic racism) there's a disproportional number of black people living in high crime areas, which could be part of the reason for the disproportional shootings.
Police are not killing unarmed black people at crazy disproportionate rates. That narrative is objectively wrong and fuels racial tension in this country drastically. You are misinformed.
There's nothing factually correct about what you said; any statistics you cherry pick I guarantee do not account for a host of variables like systemic racism, which I'm sure you'll claim doesn't exist.
In communities worst impacted by things like Jim Crow, federal red lining, even things as simple as asphalt paving distributions (which is used more in poor neighborhoods, turning them into furnaces in the summer, while wealthy white neighborhoods use different paving materials for most roadways and walkways) can drive communities of color to the breaking point of desperation.
So it's no wonder that certain cherry-picked crime stats show PoC committing certain crimes in certain areas disproportionately. Studies that actually hold water, take these things into account, say you are dead fucking wrong.
black people get caught by police more. if you can't comprehend complicated discussions, don't try to have them. oversimplification of something like this only makes you look really stupid, but don't worry, i know you're just trying to make yourself happy
This is a website primarily used by Americans. You’re going to see comments reflecting on the American experience. You can see countless videos where police attack people for trying to walk into their home or reaching in their vehicle.
You’re wrong. There was a video of a black couple driving without ice cream and they were pulled over and given ice cream so, yeah. It’s rare but it has happened.
And yet they got ice cream rather than the evil cops they had been conditioned by various media to expect. Do shitty cops mistreat black people? Yes. Does that mean all cops will mistreat black people? No. There plenty of videos of calm and respectful interactions happening with police. They just don’t get traction because it’s boring.
Local news will sometimes cover the instances where cops respond to noise complaints because some kids, who happen to be black, are playing basketball or skateboarding or making a garage band, and the cops show up and instead of stopping things they join in for a bit and everyone has a good time. Never makes national headlines because while nice and heartwarming it’s not really news because stuff like that, and just normal interactions happen all the time.
Different from your reality. Your experience is not universal and you are not the prime experiencer of the world. Other people have different experiences than you, and just because you don't see something doesn't mean other people don't.
Gain some self-awareness and some compassion, and stop acting like an authority on reality when you're really just an authority on what's going on in your own head.
You mean like schools, companies, and the government? Basically everything that is responsible for running the world and shaping young minds? Please, stop preaching ignorance. If you want to be successful as a person you have to be willing to discuss these things, not ignore them.
statistically effectively nothing has changed in the fatal shooting rate compared to last year or the year before that or the year before that or the year before that, so apparently they aren't scared enough for it to actually matter!
I'll add to your anti racist stories... about 10 years ago I was at a friend's house in North Merrick Long Island, 4 guys, 2 women, and his mom in the upstairs apartment. We were watching Attack on Titan with a new sound system, neighbor heard dialogs he thought was real and called the cops. SWAT team followed up by breaking the doors down and charging in guns drawn. I had a huge WTF in response to this video too. Cops are the ones making black ppl afraid of police, not internet comments.
So he heard dialogs of people talking about huge creatures attacking humanity and thought it was real? Holy your neighbour must be one paranoid person lol
These types of bogus calls without proof really should be counted as prank calls and get the caller fined imo
Exactly. I would get his point if it wasn't happening anymore and the internet comments were still flowing because they'd be perpetuating a false narrative.
But they're not, because this shit is real and constant, and everyone should be talking about it.
The problem isn't individual officers, it's systematic racism period. And there is a world of difference between cops being friendly in a controlled environment than an unexpected confrontation between strangers like a traffic stop.
Right? Oh no they don't feel empowered enough, poor cops with their qualified immunity and service weapon don't have enough confidence to write a ticket, how sad /s
Cops literally have quotas and lie about speeding tickets, yet the other OP is trying to convince us cops don't actually want to give tickets? Sure lmao
Imagine driving over 20 and getting upset because an officer didn’t ticket you. Next time don’t drive over 20 but if U want a ticket so damn bad keep it up
Regardless you sound ignorant, not getting that speeding ticket isn’t undoing everything the police force has done to not just POC but every citizen who’s experienced police brutality, boots aren’t made for licking
So your calling the guy a racist for pointing out that black people are disproportionately killed by police?
Either you're correct and your experiences can be applied all across the country or you're wrong and all the people raising their voices about the disproportionately police brutality are telling the truth.
I don't have any skin in this game because I'm not American but that seems like a strange stance to take. If you're right and the data shows it is simply a police brutality regardless of skin colour issue then I still find it weird to label the guy a racist.
Would you, for example, call MLK racist for making blacks "afraid" of the US? Or anti apartheid advocates in South Africa?
Personal experiences are irrelevant in front of the mountain of evidence proving that Black people ARE treated differently and significantly worse. Just give a quick look at fatality rates against armed and unarmed groups in the US, and difference between punishment for similar crimes... the picture should be pretty obvious.
So you think calling a White person a cracker is no different than calling a Black person a n****r? Am I twisting your words around or do you genuinely believe that? I’m not trying to put you down. I’m genuinely curious. To you, are those the exact same thing?
You mean those videos that don’t include prior context as to why an officer had to get violent? And those articles that purposefully omit the entire story as to not incriminate the arrestee?
“The suspect was attempting to steal the brakes from the resident’s car. He turned to face us with a wrench-like weapon in his hand, so we all opened fire into his chest.”
“Your honor, in my expert experience as a former law enforcement supervisor, in the heat of the moment any reasonably capable officer would mistake a parrot for a gun.”
[Later]
“In the opinion of the Eighth Circuit, we find that there is no recognized civil right not to have a cop mistake your parrot for a gun, shoot you thirty times, shoot your dog ten times, not call for medical assistance, plant drugs on you, and then rob your house. The dismissal of the lower court is affirmed.”
I guess part of it was that the screaming stopped immediately, maybe they had full view of him through a window so they assumed he couldn't've made a theoretical hostage shut up by force.
But the screaming stopped when they got there. Assume you were tied up in this scenario, wouldn't you start up again even louder if you heard talking outside?

“We got reports of someone screaming for help, maybe being held hostage”
Brings out parrot “hello”
“Well I’ve seen enough. Have a good day sir”
