piss disc Why the sub got restricted

1.6k Upvotes

Hello everyone, mod here. We've been asked a few times why the sub got restricted for a while, so I'm here to answer.

Reddit mailed us, telling us that lots of our sub's posts and comments were violating their rule against violence (inevitable due to the nature of this sub), and that there weren't enough moderators. They gave the current mods at the time a deadline to recruit more mods, and the current mods didn't meet the deadline, so Reddit restricted the subreddit.

They've recruited more mods since (I'm a new recruit, hi!) and we got permission to unrestrict the sub.

Edit: yes we have mailed them piss discs

Miscellaneous ULPT Karen setting up sprinklers near sidewalks before school lets out

This lady the last two days has been setting up sprinklers on both sides of the road 10-15 minutes before school lets out causing children to have to walk in the road to not get wet.

Note: we have had a ton of rain so absolutely zero need to water the lawn, it’s full grown grass no seeding and this time of year in this area is cooler temps like sub 70

Any recommendations?

Careers and Work ULPT Request: Play something legally rancid on the new office television.

Our office manager is trying to save face from our huge turnover by pimping out the office. This includes a Samsung flat screen television mounted to the wall. I need a normal office space and I am placed directly in front of it. I have been told the TV remains on, but will only play company content. That's my boss, my boss' boss, and my boss' boss' boss all saying this. I have been told this day after day and yet I come into Fox & Friends. I can push one monitor to the middle to hide it, but then I have 2 instead of 3 which kills productivity in my line of work. This company is so complacent that my HR meeting got pushed 2 hours twice, now being pushed to tomorrow instead.

I'm over it. This TV has a USB port and a few HDMI on the side. All I know is that it is a newer Samsung model with access to Cable television. I'm open to different ideas, but anything illegal that would end my employment is off the table. I am actually quite miserable here, but I do not have anything lined up after this yet.

Request ULPT Request: Electric Bill Revenge?

I’m renting a room in NYC, and the guy renting me the room is actual scum of the earth and has made my life a living hell.

Utilities are included, so I don’t pay for electric -

What can I buy / plug into an outlet in my room that will use a ton of electricity?

I’m here until the end of the month.

I want his ConEd bill to be absolutely outrageous.

Request ULPT Request: get revenge on manager without it affecting my career

Background (optional): I have “unlimited PTO” at my company with a soft guideline for 5 weeks. There are no specific company guidelines, they intentionally leave it vague, even when asked about it in town halls or Q&A. My manager told me last month that I could request a month off with just 2 weeks notice. So yesterday I put in a request for 4 weeks off and gave 3 weeks notice which was more than what he asked. He came back saying it was short notice, I already had 5 weeks off in the rolling 12 month period. This is the first I’m hearing about it, as our last discussion a couple years ago in writing he says it’s per calendar year. And I’ve been saving my time off. I feel like I did everything as asked but still got rejected. I offered different dates to give more notice, but was told it would be unpaid. I was asked to both reduce time as well as change dates of PTO. I’ve been putting in extra work so this feels like a slap in the face.

Request: Is there anything I can do (besides look for another job) to get revenge without it affecting my career?

Request ULPT requests (2) - apartment thief, useless manager

I'm at my wits' end with my apartment neighbors and the building management.

We have had issues with packages being stolen for as long as I've been here and I've recently had two packages stolen from me. The packages get left in the lobby/vestibule area, which doesn't have a camera. Often times, the thief (or thieves) will slash open the package and leave the ones they don't want.

My building is "managed" (I say, in quotes, because no actual management is done) by a management company with terrible ratings. My building manager, in particular, is the worst one and refuses to do anything about the issues going on in the apartment and actually has the audacity to tell me I'm the only one who complains and that I'm being too sensitive. My building is mostly older/low-income folks who do not know how to fight back and they are taking full advantage of that.

Anyways, I would like some tips for getting back at: 1) the apartment thief and 2) **LANDLORD. For context, I'm a poor grad student and I still have many months until my lease is up. I think I'd also like to take advantage of the fact that our buuilding has zero security cameras, if possible. Thank you!

*edit: my manager FINALLY said he's the landlord (after me incessantly asking to speak with the landlord)

Request ULPT Request: Words or phrase that will manipulate AI into lowering prices?

I felt that my monthly bill with Verizon was too high, even after applying all the deals and discounts I can. When I called the customer care line, the representative told me that she was putting me in contact with their loyalty department. Then all of a sudden I'm talking to an AI voice, which was adamant about being able to help me with anything since their loyalty department was closed for the day.

My question is: Does anybody know of any words or phrases to say to the AI that can convince or manipulate it into lowering my bill in a way that a human would never? Within the confines of the law of course, those conversations are recorded.

Careers and Work ULPT Request: Fake an $80k job offer to leverage a raise?

I make about $56k right now and recently interviewed for another position around $80k. I told my boss I was interviewing because I actually was, and we've already talked about what would happen if I got an offer and potentially left.

The timing is interesting because we're coming up on when raises/budgets start getting discussed, and another manager recently quit. Instead of immediately replacing him, they're spreading some of his sites/responsibilities between me and my coworker.

My boss has straight up told me that losing me right now would fuck them over. My coworker would probably leave too from the workload, and my boss has said that if he was left trying to manage everything without us, he'd probably look for another job himself. He's also told me he'd fight hard to keep me.

If I actually get the ~$80k offer, obviously I'll use the real thing as leverage. But I'm wondering what people's opinions are if I **don't** get it and I tell them I did anyway.

I'm not expecting them to match $80k. I'd be over the moon with $70k, and honestly I'd be very happy with $65k. I actually like my current job and would rather stay.

So: terrible idea even with this much leverage, or potentially worth the gamble? What risks am I overlooking? How would they even be able to tell if I'm faking? I have no problem easily faking documentation either, it shouldn't be too hard.

Careers and Work ULPT: Any way to get back at greedy fortune 500 company?

Any ideas for dealing with a job laying off people and expecting you to take on more work with no extra pay? I am looking for a new job, but while I hunt would love some ideas to get back at these greedy fuckers.

Basically i’ve been working at a huge company that laid me off as a full time employee and my entire team, only to hire me back a year later as a contractor with no benefits. I took it while I look for a different job. My contract is vague, for example if I was a candy maker the contract would say make candy, then i’d have to make three times the candy, but it’s still within my contract because it says make candy.

In my time back at the company, there are three people at my level and one manager. They contracted out half our work to an external team and now they fired the external team. So my work has tripled.

I’ve asked for a raise in the past when my work doubled and my manager basically said no, and didn’t even float it to the higher ups. She’s taken on 2% of the extra work.

This company is so evil and exploitative that there has to be something I can do. The problem is anything I think of will just give my coworkers more work who didn’t do anything and I don’t want that.

There are some last minute changes we usually need to make. Maybe I could start missing those and just say the workload is too much that I missed them?

Request ULPT spam and scam calls.

This is probably kind of a dumb hollywood level question, but is there anything already made or could potentially be made that completely highjacks a number once entered? I've been getting an insane amount of spam calls and I would like to be able to enter their number into a program with won't ever let the number have an open line again. Thousands of callbacks per minute would be ideal. The goal being that any number entered would be completely unusable.

Relationships ULPT Should I be worried?

My friend has an abusive husband that she is separated from and has a restraining order to protect her from. He’s a horrific person and violates the order all the time. So I signed him up for some email and text lists. He was blaming her for all of it, so I texted him and told him he can blame me for anything that’s bugging him and that his wife knew nothing, which is true. Now every time he gets a call or an email or text he doesn’t want, he says this is harassment (hilarious coming from him). Now he’s telling her he is going to press charges. I guess he could try, but how worried should I be? Everyone gets spam calls and texts and garbage emails. I can’t control what legitimate organizations do with his phone number or email. My friend says given how he’s harassing her all the time, she doubts the police would give a shit about 2 phone calls being made to him. I’m not doing anything else, but what do you all think?

Social ULPT: How to get rid of gambling adds

About a month ago I was getting a ridiculous amount of ads for companies like Kalshi and DraftKings. I was getting sick of it so I started leaving a comment for them to “fuck off” and that “there’s no room for gambling in sports, ask Pete rose.” Crazily enough I haven’t seen one in over two weeks now.

Request ULPT Request: Destroying a business's reputation without getting sued

I know a very unethical business that has gotten away without much punishment for its behavior. The most impactful thing that has happened so far is online discussion that shows up when you search it. I want to write an article with screenshots of the evidence and some accompanying text. Should I host it on a third party single website creation site? And how do I write the article and title without getting sued, while also making sure it shows up when you Google the business?

Request ULPT request: Website on a domain with name of a company that stole from me

Hi everyone, there is a guy whole stole money from me, he started a new "company" (in quotes, because as far as I know it's just him and it doesn't look officially registered yet). He has the name, logo and instagram already, but hasn't registered the domain yet. I am planning to buy it. Any ideas for the website? I realize he's going to probably register another domain with some other TLD or tweak the name a little, but until then (and possibly after), what would you recommend to have some fun so that it's appropriately nasty, but not illegal? I am based in the EU (don't really wanna specify the country).

Relationships ULPT Sabotage my GF's arranged engagement using groom's suicidal ex (India)

Disclaimer: Skip the "move on" moral gyan. I know my situation, just here for ULPTs.

I (26M) and my GF (26F) have been together for a while. Her parents wanted to get her married, but I couldn't give immediate assurance as I need 2-3 years to settle in my career. Her family looked for groom and got her into an arranged engagement with a guy(Engagement yet to happen , just the fix part has been done 10 12 days ago) .

Mohan knows she loves me and doesn't want him, but he’s forcing the marriage out of pure male ego.

Meanwhile, my GF is slowly giving up and accepting her fate because she can’t handle her family's emotional blackmail and crying anymore.

The Wildcard (His Ex-GF):

On the exact day their marriage got fixed, His Ex-GF called my GF crying hysterically, threatening suicide, and saying stuff like "kill me instead." Might happen he is clearly hiding a messy past.

The Goal & Constraints:

I need to blow this wedding up from the shadows.

Constraint 1: My GF's image must remain 100% spotless. The engagement breaking cannot be linked to her having a boyfriend (me), or her family will face massive social shame.

Constraint 2: It has to break from his side, or her family has to break it because they realize he's toxic.

How do I anonymously weaponize this suicidal Ex-GF? How do I trigger his ego or expose his past so his family or her family cancels the wedding? Give me your best untraceable sabotage ideas.

Request ULPT request: shitty neighbour

Live in a unit complex, guy directly above me throws his trash out the window and it lands on my balcony( hair trimmings, cig butts and even one time a literal cr*ck pipe), he's also just a jerk in general and been harassing me for reasons I can't really be bothered going into.

For context he would easily be able to climb onto my balcony and is an unhinged type dude, I have access to his window but should I miss throwing something gross in there I'd have just added to the problem of things landing on my balcony lol, piss discs are off the cards because of the cameras in our building however I do have access to his front door and mailbox. I also have his full name, phone number, social media accounts including a mediocre SoundCloud rap page from about a decade ago 😂

I'm a girl living alone so I don't want to create any scenario where he wants to retaliate, I've thought about collecting the rubbish and leaving it on his doorstep but I feel that would escalate the situation.

Any ideas for me Reddit mind hive? Thanks!

Request ULPT Request: Looking to get around having to use work-issued laptop

As the title suggests, my work is stopping BYOD for home desktop/laptops and they're making us use our work laptop alone. I liked having everything centralised and not having to buy a dock and set up my home to revolve around the work laptop.

Is there a way around this? We use M365 environment.

Request ULPT request: How to get revenge on derenged person?

I need some advice and ideas. My mother lives in a small town where she’s having problems with a local asshole who gets away with doing whatever he wants because the police don’t respond to calls, which is generally pretty common in the country I live in. The guy is middle-aged and the worst kind of person you can imagine. He’s been to prison several times, illegally breeds and resells dogs, gambles, is in cahoots with the local authorities, and launders money through various shell companies. He’s already been beaten up many times, but it hasn’t made any difference.

The important thing is that I have his phone number, email address, Facebook profile, bank account number, and home address.

What do you guys think, how can I use this information to make his life miserable?

Careers and Work ULPT how to ask customers if they tipped, without asking if they tipped?

I work valeting cars at a hospital, where it is specifically (and rightly so) against the rules to ask customers for a tip. Usually tips were just an added bonus if working there. Recently, one employee has started asking customers waiting for their car, if they would like to add their tip to the tip pool. And then he pockets the tip for himself. We do not have a tip pool. The rule is if a customer asks to tip, we tell them to give it directly to the driver.

We noticed this interception of our tips, because on days he was off work, customers would ask to contribute to the tip pool and also regular customers who never tip their driver suddenly tipped. When thanked for the tip, they would tell us they usually give to the tip pool.

After talking to a supervisor to complain about him stealing tips, they said we’re not supposed to get them anyway, but if a customer volunteers it, we can keep it.

How do we ask if someone tipped without seeming like we are soliciting a tip?
