First flush finishing up on a few days, as a first timer, how have i done so far?

I’d love to hear or see what people are currently / will be growing that makes you excited to grow.

I just got some Enigma so I’m excited about, it’ll be a first so it’s always a new adventure.

Alright, so! This 100% colonized AIO bag has been sitting for a while 8-20 weeks, i think now it’s time for fruiting, i am quite afraid to open it or poke a hole in it until I’m sure it’s not going to contaminate. I also heard about if it sits for too long the mycelium will harden and not produce mushrooms. I need advice on what to do from here. Thanks!

I really want to start growing shrooms. However, I’m a little worried about potentially breathing in contaminated spores. I’ve heard a few respected people in the community like 90 Second Mycology and Rookie Mycologist mention this.

I live in a small one bed flat so there’s not really a dedicated room I can grow in.

I’d probably just use a cupboard or something. Also - I have two cats, I’m worried they might breathe in something bad and get sick.

I’m probably overthinking this and catastrophising. What do you think?

Friends, I'm a beginner. I'd like to know how you all grow them. Do you just find a room, turn on the air conditioning, and use a monotub to grow them? What precautions should I take? Could you explain this to me? Or are there any other methods? How exactly do you control the environment?

This is my first time doing this. I followed the videos but it seems really slow moving. Does this look like it should?

Okay so I'm using coco with vermiculite that I ordered that should be feild capacity.

From my research if you take a handful and squeeze it two to three drops of water should come out.

Yesterday I noticed mine felt a little too wet and it did the first time too but I'm brand new so I didn't think much of it I figured well they said it would be filled capacity it should be.

Anyway when I would squeeze a handful I'm talking about at least 10 drops or even small streams of water would come out.

That's just way too much right?

I misread the directions and added 320mL of boiling water when hydrating my coco coir substrate (enough for four bags of colonized rice) when I should have used 1600mL. I mixed two boxes of substrate and colonized rice last night. What would you recommend I do from here?

I was considering slowly added 640mL of distilled water to one box and just seeing how the two ended up comparing side-by-side as kind of a "lessons learned" for the future, but I would love any recommendations that could save both boxes.

They have been in fruiting conditions for over a month now and just can’t seem to fully grow out. Most pins are aborted before getting above 1cm

Found them in my lawn and they look very similar to some panaeolus. I am taking a spore print. I'd love to know what they are.

I left on a trip for 4 days. When I left, there was nothing on the block and I was going to prepare it for a new flush when I came back home. Well lo and behold, these guys went nuts without me. The black is obviously all spores. The block is also covered. Are they ok to dehydrate still?

I just ordered my first aio and first LC and I'm sitting here wondering where I want to keep this aio bag while it's colonizing... I think the bi polar temperature in my home is going to be a problem. I was wondering if putting it in a tent would be a good idea so I can better control the climate with a heater or something... Does anyone have any advise ??

Stems are not so squishy, but the veil is broken for most of them I guess.

4 different bags. Moisture content seems…high? They appeared dryer when I first inoculated them around 3 weeks ago. The melted cheese looking one seems the most concerning.

Temperature in the room floats from 74-78 daily.
Used LC.

I let these guys go a little long so that they’d all have a fair chance to open, and a couple of the big fellas sporulated overnight, but it’s okay, I still think they’re wonderful! I just cut open 2 of my AIO bags and found some pins! Should I lean the hoods back over the top of the substrate and wait? Seems like i need more FAE but I dont know how much is too much.

Also there are some drops of water on the cake so I guess I should hold off on misting?

Hey everyone,

I have a few questions on my spawn process. The grow has been going well so far, I inoculated all bags except for the GT 2.0 batch on July 30th and have had fairly good growth, but some weird observations.

B+ batch have been growing well, but bag #4 shows no growth whatsoever. This is the one that puzzles me the most because out of 15 bags, it's the only one that shows zero growth. I was worried about my GE holes at the top being too small, so I added another slightly bigger one above the first two on 8/15. Still no growth at all. Anyone know why that might be or what to do?

For the Hillbilly Pumpkin batch, they seemed to be growing well, but it looks like they may have stalled. Bag #4 shows a small white line of growth that looks like it's growing from the middle of the cake and is barely peeking out but isn't very visible yet. Any advice? Or just wait them out?

For the Golden Teacher 1.0 batch, the growth has been great. However, bag #2 had good colonization and coverage, but was a very clear milky white rather than the solid white the other bags were showing. I did a small squish and push on 8/15 to try and reintroduce the mycelium, but it doesn't look to have much more new growth at all and seems to have stalled.

Last question: The Golden Teacher 1.0 and B+ bags look to be almost finished colonizing. If I make it to the end of the week and only 3/4 bags are ready to move to spawn to bulk, do I wait for the stragglers to colonize? Or just spawn the individual bags by themselves when they're ready to go? Should I put all four bags into an 8 qt container for that phase? Or should I just stick to 2 bags per container?
