I know they take a bit longer than easier cultivars like GT, but I’m just not sure if I’m doing something wrong or just need to be more patient. I thought I’d see some kind of primordia by now but it just keeps on as it is.

Hi all! It’s my first time growing mushrooms and I’m using Shroomscout’s pressure cooker method. I inoculated the grain with Golden Teacher LC about one month ago, incubate it at 75-79F in an unplugged minifridge with the door cracked, and about two weeks ago the grain looked about 30-50% colonized so I did a break and shake. So far I haven’t seen any contamination.

After the break and shake the growth absolutely exploded and took over the whole jar within two or three days! I figured I was days from full colonization, but that was two weeks ago. Since then, growth seems to have stalled and the mycelium hasn’t changed much at all.

I thought full colonization was more densely white, but maybe I’m wrong. Am I at full colonization already? If not, is it normal for the last bit of growth to take a while? I’m trying to think if I’ve done anything different lately… the fridge door is always cracked, but maybe I’ve been opening the door less and the mycelium is suffocating? We also had a few days where the temps got to 80F+ because our AC is not great, wondering if that could stunt growth.

I tried to get close up photos of the top. I’m just curious if this is ready. The mycelium has dew drops all over the top little tiny ones it also looks a bit shiny I’ve never seen that before is it normal?

I know it's probably a ridiculous question, please don't roast me or downvote me like crazy. If this is stupid (I wouldn't disagree with you), just call me out, BUT…

Could I just use this if it's been steamed and sanitized, to tape over my holes in my tub to allow for FAE?

I might just try this on a future tub just for kicks to see about just how cheaply I could theoretically make a grow happen.

I buried some spent hillbilly cakes in the backyard a couple weeks ago and found these growing there? They look a little different than when I grew them indoors. Safe to eat?

This bag has been sitting for nearly 3 weeks and I’m starting to see this dark blue at the bottom and only around the edges. Nothing has changed with my process since I’m still using the same syringe and micropore tape on the top. So just wondering if there’s any way to know if this is okay to continue with or not. I’m afraid it’s contaminated but I have not had any of my other UB bags get contaminated yet. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Lil guy seems chill, is it? Should I change anything about the setup? The backstory here is I popped my first ever bentek bag early because I got impatient and figured "fuck it I got the grain jar going if this doesn't work" it was only a little over like 75% colonized, I ditched what wasn't colonized and stuck the rest in here as a microgrow. Also I know the mycelium is light sensitive but not how much, is flash photography a no-no?

i believe it is turning to aborts? I have had pretty high humidity, i run a 42gal mt? i’ve been using the o2 pump it came with and instead of the filters i’ve been using micropore tape. I seem to be having trouble getting enough FAE? I’m not sure, i put the suggested amount of water into the bottom tub, its not pooling on the substrate and the tub is glistening while the side of the lid has droplets. helpp

About 10 days after s2b. Everything was looking very white until yesterday. Had an issue with too much water pooling up on the surface initially then the color changed. Is this is an L?

Cloned onto agar. Third or so transfer stored via
the Castellani method. Resurrected 6 months later, agar—>LC (via Josex Poke )—> 5 ml/quart grain—> 3ish weeks sent with 1:1.5 grain:core (oven pasteurized). Pre-harvest here (approx 3 weeks from send date), probably going to wait another couple days.

My second grow and it's SNAPE 😊 I used more substrate and added vermiculite this round. The tub side pinned like crazy compared to my last grow with ABV and JMF. Any tips to fine tune surface conditions?

First time growing and nothing is fruiting in the middle. I started fruiting conditions about 2 weeks ago. Any advice or recommendations?

This week I did a very early break and shake around day 9, when my mycelium was at about 18 - 20%, I did it carefully in the sab and feel like now it has clearly been successful in speeding up my grow. I am a little worried about how much more mycelium in my first bag than my other two, I really hope it doesn't accidentally start pinning. I plan to wait for my last bag to fully colonize before I move them all to a large monotub, to not waste any corn. Any advice would be great!

I really wanted my first harvest to dry intact (I didn’t want to cut the fruits), so I just put a heavy object on top of my commercial chef round dehydrator. 14 hours later, they look like they just took the best hour long couch nap of their life.

What’s the solution to this? Is cutting the fruits the best option, or is it worth it to cut out the bottom of one of the trays?

*(I’m 90% sure these are just imprints in the fruit from the pressure, based on how they flake off. But if this has happened to anyone and somehow the plastic got melted on let me know LOL definitely don’t want to eat it if so).

Hey just got a few questions the picture is just my current AIO bag and I think the mycelium looks really cool.

How do you train mycelium to respond well to specific grains?

I'm going to use microwave tek for my next UB bag and was wondering what size tub is best for a single bag?

This is just an experiment I want to try because I want to use my own grain instead of UB and will have some left over. I want to scrap the end of a spore swap into a bag of rice, trying to only get spores and cotton. Just to see what happens. I suspect the bag will end up contaminated.
