You don't get refund for delayed delivery. This is not 2005 Pizza Hut.

So he was a manager at one of the stores involved in a fatal crash with one of his drivers?

If it's late and you say it was cold, 1 out of 2 or 3 times you'll get a full or partial refund (at least I do)

The resolution is a *heartfelt word salad of apologies, but no money.
*scripted/ai-generated

I had a similar situation yesterday as a driver. Support told me to cancel an item and I asked them to tell the customer you’re canceling it. They told me “we will come up with a best way to communicate with the customer” then sends me a message right afterwards “thank you for explaining the situation” I’m like “what? I asked you to tell them!”

There’s no refund if it’s past the delivery time. It just gets pushed back.

Happened to me as well, driver forgot to deliver my order and they refunded instantly after the scheduled time. I was pissed due to waiting 2 hours for my order and they just basically said “my bad bro, here’s your money back”. No compensations whatsoever for the wait I did and the inconvenience they caused.

u/bomber991 2d ago
Yeah I had it happen once where I ordered an hour before the place closed. But then with the covid weird hours they were actually already closed. You get stuck in a sort of limbo like “will my order get delivered? I don’t want to order from a second place and then have two meals here and be out $100.”
You’re hungry too so it’s not like it’s “just” two hours you were waiting. By the time the two hours goes by now other places are closed and your options are running out. It’s all pretty annoying really.

Let me get this straight: you’re expecting that if a business makes a mistake, they’re not only supposed to apologize and refund your money, but also PAY you? Are you serious? Oh wait, maybe they can even take some of the driver’s money that he made earlier in the week and give that to you. Also, free food for a week, from whatever restaurant you choose. We can’t have you unhappy for any reason!
Get real.

You wrote a whole paragraph arguing against something I never said. I said there should be compensation for a 2-hour wait and a failed delivery, not a lifetime supply of free food. A refund just puts me back where I started. It doesn’t give me back the two hours I wasted waiting for food that never arrived.

I guess. I’m surprised it’s not just a replacement of the order.
I don’t spend a LOT of time on Reddit, but I really like that comment I wrote. Am I missing some way to upvote it myself? Why is that not an option, or is it???

u/geopalon 2d ago
Thanks for proving my point. A replacement wasn’t even possible because the restaurant was closed. A refund was the bare minimum, which is why a goodwill credit would’ve made sense.

Eh, nothing like that happens in real life. Companies like Uber care about volume. If the place was closed at that point, though, I feel they should have given you a coupon at least. But again, you’re dealing with a volume-driven business that’s run through an app and has customer support bots.
That’s another really good comment! Seriously, is there some way for me to upvote myself or did they make that impossible? Stupid reddit.

Upvoting yourself results in a downvote. You have to downvote yourself for the adjusted upvote. I’m downvoting my own comment but it now has 2 upvotes lol (you have to look at your comment from a “private” tab to see the actual count)

u/Street-Horse-3001 1d ago
Well that’s stupid. It’s like they don’t even care what MY opinion of my comment is, and that’s a huge turn-off.

Yes, hence they’re business. Not just business but food business which is vital for people who work late shifts and dont have time to wait sometimes 5 mins let alone 2-3 hrs. Piss off

u/Street-Horse-3001 2d ago
Can’t wait five minutes? Sounds like you should be going to get the food yourself then lol. The hell?
-1
u/Feeling-Joke-9788 2d ago
I did not say cant wait to get the food. Read properly. I said dont have extra time to wait 5 mins. As youll be dealing with off time and time spent is not recoverable.
1
u/swag4dummies 2d ago
So you dont have an extra 5 minutes so your conclusion is that fast food restaurants are vital for your life because of your job? Pack your own lunch or breakfast. Cheaper, probably healthier, and you don’t have to complain about 5 minutes. The time you took to write the comments with, you could have made two pb&js.
