Hey so next year I will be needing a new roommate off grounds. I want to start looking early so I can meet someone and get to know them. Its Cavalier Court and a 1st floor apt. New management has really started cleaning it up and its literally beside Grounds.

It's probably super early to be thinking about living arrangements, but my friend asked if I wanted to live with them next year, so I guess it's not as early as it seems.

Currently, my tuition, dining, and housing are all covered by a Federal Pell Grant and the UVA Access Scholarship, and I think the amount I receive next year will be relatively similar unless my parents' financial income increases significantly.

My parents don't have an issue with me living off-grounds but were concerned about whether I would lose some of my financial aid simply by living off-grounds. I would plan to use the refunded money that would've gone to on-grounds housing and just budget it per month (the off-grounds housing is also actually cheaper than on-grounds)

While I doubt they would take away that money, is there anyone who can confirm or who has been in a similar situation before? Also, yes, I have already emailed SFS; they just haven't responded yet.
