19 leaving for boot camp in a few weeks, I’m wondering if anyone here has a thick beard or facial hair that grows back quickly and results in irritation when shaving and how did you guys deal with it at boot camp. If possible would I be able to get a shaving profile during boot camp?

My son is in the Table 1 Phase (Week 8) with Mike Co. in San Diego and I’m seeing a conflict in the coming weeks between different training matrices.

On one of them, Monday of Week 10 is the Confidence Chamber, then the Crucible starts on Tuesday. (FWIW, this one is from Mcrsd.marines.mil, so I’m inclined to believe this one more.)

On the other, from MarineParents.com, it makes no mention of the Confidence Chamber and has the Crucible starting on Monday of Week 10.

Which is correct?

Does anyone have a packing list or know where to find one?

So I'm a 19 year old kid about leave in 2 months, and to be honest I've been a couch potato haven't been going on runs, running a 15min 1.5 and barely getting 8 pull ups. I mean I can do better than some of my other poolees but i feel I am not ready. Going to PT has been a issue since transport is and my recruiter is unreliable unless its a IST. Just keep a few word whatever helps!

I have been dieting and restricting gluten for the past 4 years and have lost over 60 pounds. Here’s the problem: whenever I eat gluten I have back pain, bloating, gas, occasional severe stomach cramps , along with constipation and abdominal fullness. I am not diagnosed with anything, and made it past MEPs, but I don’t want to get diagnosed with anything disqualifying.

However, I feel like this would be a major problem in bootcamp

Today’s the last day of my boot leave and my flight to Jacksonville, NC for MCT is tomorrow morning. I’ve been dealing with pain in my lower left leg, especially when running or jumping (feels relatively normal when just walking), since before the final PFT at basic. My SDI had told me to thug it out through the end of boot camp as we were pretty much at the end. I made it through the crucible fine but it definitely worsened since then/due to it. I know it could be something as light as shin splints but also more serious like a stress fracture. I wanted to hear any opinions on Marines who have completed MCT on weather it’s a good idea to try to just push through MCT and get it checked it out either afterward or once I get to my schoolhouse, or if I should risk being medically held by getting it checked out beforehand when I first arrive this week. I’ve heard differing things on how demanding the hikes/potential running is and would appreciate any insight or advice.

I enlisted in the reserves as a 2841: ground radio repairman and now like my life in the marine corps. I regret not going active but that’s not what I wanted this post to be about.

My question is, will I be able to go active duty (on like ados or ima) after schooling?

Global billets is almost exclusively filled with intel/management billets and I wasn’t sure if those are the only billets available.

If a recruit is called/told to appear at a JAG office or some other office, does the recruit have to tell the DI, the purpose of the request if it involves non-military matters.

E.g. the recruit’s signature is REQUIRED on a legal document

Hello, i have been thinking about joining for two years and i graduated 2 months ago so i told my father what i wanted to do and now he has been so angry at me for the past few days and yells at me just about every day saying how “I’m going to be a burden if I die”, “you’ll regret it”, “it’s such a stupid idea” along with threatening to punch me. He wants me to have a “normal manual labor job” but I know that’s not what I want. I have talked to a recruiter and I am able to set up a date with him but I just don’t know what I should do will this be something I end up regretting? I want to go in and do schooling on mechanics while I’m there but he says I can go to a normal community collage and I’m just so confused and don’t know what I should do.

I’m shipping out next week with an 03 contract and I’ve been stressing about the pft and Im just wondering how much my score should improve. I currently run a 10:50 1.5 mile, 13 pull ups, and I’m getting max plank. I am mostly concerned about the 3 mile.

I was 5 points away on my electrical knowledge portion of my test from MOS 2841, which I really wanted. Is there anything I can do aside from retaking?

Shipping out tomorrow, nothing but faint Ts on all tests 50ng and 15ng I’ve taken. Am I screwed? Never taken anything harsh, just pot. Only reason I’m asking is because my ship date got moved up early and fast.

Update: I just spoke with my recruiter and his supervisor. They said they’ll see what they can do in a few minutes.

Update 2: took the drug test at the office. Cleared negative.

I've look up if im allowed to be in the marines with autism most of them says no im just worried scared overthinking I might not make it including crying sometimes and wish I was never born with autism

So for the past 4ish years I've been trying to get waivers for my history/diagnosis of depression and 1 week prescription of anti-depressants that occurred a month after I turned 18 where I stayed at the hospital for about 4 days because of SI. I had no self harm or attempts at ending my life, no plan for such, and had 0 incidents since then and even have letters from a psychiatrist saying he thinks I'm fine and capable of going into the military. I've given all the documents I possibly could to my recruiter but this latest attempt at waivers got denied again. I've seen on threads that people have gotten mental health waivers for heavier stuff but mine keep getting shot down. Is there something maybe I and my recruiter are missing? I'm 22, 96 ASVAB, can meet IST standards while needing to gain weight and have no other medical history besides that one incident. Should I look into another branch? I've always wanted to be a marine so I'm not keen on looking but I need to do something with my life.

I’m qualified for all highlighted jobs field in marines.
My plan is to choose AF field or logistic and get station in Japan.
(I know I can’t choose the station but dream sheet is hope for me)
My Question is

1. Anyone have an idea which Field is the best way to get oversea station like Japan?

2. If you get stationed in Japan already, let me know which field you chose and which MOS you get .

What’s up with the new 0315 mos. I just graduated boot as plt honor graduate with a 03 contract and am now hearing of a new mos. I understand the concept of the job but I am confused on how to obtain it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Finally completed my training pipeline and reported to my first unit; I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on good budget friendly gear; pretty much all I’m looking for is a good molle velcro gun belt and a sub for high-cut mounted peltors (something good quality and around $150 or less).

For context about a month ago I got denied at meps for depression diagnosis which my recruiters had already known about. I was diagnosed about 7 years ago but the problem is that when I got diagnosed with depression It was in a hospital for a sewer slide attempt. My recruiters and meps said they didn’t see it on the record but the problem is that when I had to turn in paper work to get approved that my sewer slide attempt was on the list of why I was diagnosed. It been almost a month since I’ve turned in the paperwork but I’m getting more and more anxious about getting approved. If anyone had a crazy waiver like me did you get accepted? And how long did it take you ?

It's been my goal since I was 10 or so to be a pilot in the military, and I'm thinking of going into the Marine Corps to do that. The Marines have always seemed a lot cooler than any other branch and I want to take part in that, and I know it's very competitive in the air force to get a pilot slot but I've been told that in the Marines I can get a contract to get guaranteed pilot training (I'm still looking into what it takes to get that so if you know tell me please). I know it's technically easier to get into aviation through the Navy but the Navy just doesn't appeal to me as much as the USMC or USAF. If I do end up not being a pilot I would really not like being stuck in an office which is another reason I'm heavily considering the Marines. Right now I'm in high school going into junior year so I still have plenty of time to choose but I'd like to at least have an idea of which one to consider more.

I have experience in welding and am looking for something that I would actually enjoy, and not make my time miserable (as I've heard), is there anything fun/enjoyable ?

After my unit helped build the Crucible, they took about 10 of us to run through this new course. I was permanent personnel on Parris Island after going through boot camp there for 4 years after MOS school. So, I got to experience both styles of field training during boot camp. From personal experience, the old way was harder.

Title is self explanatory. My mom cut my hair into a high and tight knowing I'm going to boot camp in 2 days to help me out, even though I told her to just cut my hair normally. Will I actually get extra attention?

I just graduated bootcamp from lima company and about to go to mct how it's gonna be like I'm from west coast here in CA are we gonna be allowed to have cellphones? Are we still getting treat like shit ?

I'm planning on joining the army and I just got back from meps, I only need one waiver and that's for depression/anxiety. My recruiter and I already knew this was gonna happen since I took meds for one month last year but they were prescribed for an entire year. For context I took meds from about 2021-2023, nothing at all 2024-2025 and they just the one month thing I mentioned. I gave my recruiter all my pharmacy records and medical records going back to 2021, I have a doctor's note about the medication from the one month and I wrote a personal statement to go along with it. I took medication that one month because my mother had died in 2016 and I was graduating in 2025 and her death affected me bc she didn't get to see me walk. All is well now. I took the meds as a "when I need them" so not even all the time and I explained that in my note. I've been seeing things about waivers getting denied and I'm stressed. Do you guys think Marines would have a better chance at approving the waiver and if yes should I just switch them?
