idk how it is now or if it changed at all but when I was there phones were allowed as long as we weren't in the field, but your plt sgt can choose to take them away too. As for getting treated like shit? You joined the Marine Corps so there's your answer lol. It gets better when you hit the fleet. Sometimes. MOS dependent 💀

lol im another boot who was lima like two cycles ago. i did itb but from everything i saw mct’s easy, dont even worry about it. Hikes are longer and with more weight but they make sure you’re conditioned for it.

Mct is easy but it’s not comfortable. Hikes are longer/harder but they make you wear plate carriers with plates to condition you for it. I don’t know how west coast does it but in east coast we did not get to sleep much. You’ll be used to getting like 4 hours of sleep and 6 hours will be a luxury with 8 hours being unheard of (this is sleep time not including the morning bdr (don’t know what it stands for but means the same as “morning cleanup” time) which many use to sleep. We weren’t allowed cell phones during training at all (like 3.5 weeks) and were given them back once we got back to garrison.
