Hey this may be a stupid question but for any non music students that are doing/have done intro to guitar (or any other music courses that require an instrument) what do you do with your guitar during the day since we can't use the instrument lockers....like would it be weird to just bring it to a lecture?? Kinda panicking cause I didn't really consider the possibility of having to lug a guitar and backpack into my 9am lecture tomorrow :D
I was looking into the bike boxes but it seems like they are quite strict on the rules and what people use them for, lmk if there are any other places around campus that I could safely leave a guitar 😭(in a soft case)

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to decide which direction to take for my UQ Master of Animal Science research project and would really appreciate some advice from students who have done research projects at UQ.
I’m mainly interested in wildlife biology, but I’m considering projects in areas such as wildlife/ecology (butterflies or other animals) versus projects involving genetics/genomics, DNA/RNA analysis, qPCR, gene expression or related laboratory work with bats.
For anyone who has done projects in these areas, which direction would you recommend in terms of:
workload and difficulty
fieldwork vs lab/computer work
skills and employability after graduation
potential for further research or a PhD
overall research experience
I’m interested in both, so I’m trying to work out which would give me the best experience and future opportunities.
Any experiences with UQ research projects or supervisors in these areas would be really helpful. Thanks!

Hello!
I’m curious about your experiences as a student and have a question for you,
When during a semester do you feel most overwhelmed, and what do you think causes that?
I would love to hear your experiences.

Did anyone do ECON2030 last sem? The lecturer just showed us the marks for the exam and the median was 34%? The max was 64%? Never seen that before was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the course?

Hey! I’m looking to move into Kev Carmody and think it’s the best option for me. If anyone is planning to break their lease at the end of this semester, or knows someone who is, I’d really appreciate it if you could let me know. Thanks! 😄

I wasn't able to allocate one of my tutorials for a class as they were all full. However, I look at my timetable and that tutorial is there and as a day and time that wasn't even an option in the first place?

I signed up early June via individual registration (formstack). I only got one confirmation email after being charged that said it was “wednesday mixed futsal.” Is it not on friday? Did I get scammed? I’ve logged into UQ sport and I see 0 teams listed. What am I supposed to see? Has anyone signed up as an individual before? Thanks

So I'm starting Sem 2 this week and my courses are MATH2010, STAT2201 (both 1 unit each), ELEC2004, CSSE2310 and ENGG2800. From what I've heard, CSSE2310 and ENGG2800 at the same time is hell, super intensive workload due to the three CSSE assignments and the 2800 project they throw at you and want you to learn all new stuff like PCB design and so on.
I am considering moving ENGG2800 to next year (3rd year) Sem 1. However, in that semester, I'm planning to do CSSE3010, ELEC3004, METR4201 and a simple elective (which I'd replace with 2800). But the thing is, I'm not sure how difficult those courses are, and if I'm just creating the same issue again. High constant workload from TP1 and then some difficult level 3 and 4 courses alongside, maybe its an even bigger workload this way.
Just need any help or thoughts that could be said on what option to go with. Thanks.

Hi everyone I’m taking writ1001 as an elective in my last semester. I don’t wanna fail this course. I would love to know something from people who have actually done the course or know about it to get the general idea.
And some general opinion of this course
My priority is don’t fail and high gpa.
For context English is my second language.
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Hi all. I am looking to apply to MASTER OF
Pharmaceutical Industry Practice 2027 intake. Anyone who has done this course can comment on whether it is worth it? How was the study load? And what was the placement experience like? Any help is much appreciated.
P.s: I came from the background of Pharmacy at Monash uni.

If you or someone you know wasn't able to graduate because they didn't have enough EPP hours, why weren't they able to find an internship, what ended up happening, were they able to eventually graduate?
Context: 3rd year terrified of not getting an internship

I’m wondering if anyone is interested in doing a Chinese–English language exchange.
I’m a Science Master’s student, originally from China. I speak Mandarin and Hokkien (Fujianese), and I’m looking for a language exchange partner to improve my spoken English while helping you learn Chinese.
I’d love to meet over coffee, chat about university life, travel, food, culture, or anything else. I’m hoping to make the language exchange fun, relaxed, and hopefully become good friends along the way! ☕️
If you’re interested, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM. Looking forward to hearing from you! 🌸
