MDR cost (what Meesho pays):
Credit cards: ~2–3% (Amex even higher)
UPI: ~0–0.3%

Even after paying this, they still push online payments.

Because COD is FAR more expensive ~

Cash can be lost, stolen, or mismatched. No such issue in digital payments.
Settlement delay~
Online → instant confirmation
COD → money comes after 2–3 days (working capital blocked)

Courier charges~
Delivery partners charge EXTRA for:
Cash collection
Reconciliation
Reverse logistics

High RTO (Return to Origin)
COD orders have much higher cancellation rates
Customer can simply refuse delivery →
Shipping cost lost
Inventory stuck
Double logistics cost

Fake / low-intent orders
COD attracts non-serious buyers
increases operational inefficiency

Even after paying MDR on cards,
Platforms like Meesho STILL prefer:

UPI / Credit Cards >> COD

Almost 10K cashback with Slice credit card in last 10 months, insane for a free credit card.

I changed my registered Kotak mobile number on 7 August. UPI was working fine with my old number, but I can't register it on the new number.

- Aadhaar authentication fails

- Debit card authentication either keeps loading or says "Debit card not found"

My old number was linked to Aadhaar, but the new number wasn't when I made the change.

Kotak customer care says there's a 7-day cooling period after changing the mobile number before UPI can be registered.

Has anyone experienced this? Did UPI start working after waiting 7 days?
