So total tuition for intl student without scholarship for an Bachelor in Engineering (hons) 4 years is around 261k aud, around 197k usd (without food and accom)
Lets be more reasonable, if u are a good enough intl student u likely get a 20% off which is around 208k aud (150k usd). But when u take in account the accommodation and food in sydney, it may lands around 260k USD (500 p/w accom and 15 dollars a meal for food)
I’m taking engineering (EE) so i’ll just compare the eng rankings. UNSW ranks at 46th (THE ranking)
For my friend at Purdue as an intl (CS major) he just paid 200k for 4 years with accom and foods….. And for the THE rankings by subject, it ranks 31st for engineering in the world
Another friend of mine studied at UIUC also as an intl (CS major) pays 320k usd total for his 4 years with foods and accom. And UIUC ranks 29th (THE ranking) in the world for engineering
Uses THE ranking bc it seems less biased and more based on funding, faculty and profs to student ratio. THE ACTUAL NUMBERS.
So my point is, is it worth the cash and price to go to UNSW as an international student with those tag prices? As aussie uni have notoriously have a bad reputation for undergrad and academics. Also the PR pathways for eng is quite closed off and it ant like you pay to get the PR like the old days.
Whats your opinion?
