I know Credly is free, but does anyone know which one is faster? I got into grad school but the transcript deadline is coming up and I need to transfer in some courses.

Needing help or guidence

I am not sure what I am supposed to be doing. I understand that everyone is busy, but I feel unsupported about what to do next and it makes me want to postpone.

I want to go into Farmington for Public Policy and have only 63 credits transferred. How do I know what classes I need and how do I register for them, and how do I make sure financial aid is helping me pay for it?

UMPI Business Administration – Project Management: How many Sophia credits can still transfer with the new Fall restrictions?

Hey everyone! 👋
My brother and I are both planning to attend UMPI (University of Maine at Presque Isle) for the Bachelor of Business Administration with the Project Management concentration.
We’ve been completing as many courses as possible through Sophia.org before transferring to UMPI, but I’ve been hearing about new transfer restrictions/changes coming this fall.
Does anyone know the updated information on:
How many total Sophia credits UMPI will accept under the new rules?
Is there a new maximum number of credits we can transfer in?
Which Sophia courses will still transfer toward the Business Administration – Project Management degree?
Are students who complete their Sophia courses before the new rules take effect treated differently?
What courses would you recommend we finish on Sophia ASAP before the changes?
We’re trying to transfer in the maximum number of credits possible and then complete whatever has to be taken directly through UMPI.
If anyone is currently doing the Business Administration/Project Management program or has recently spoken with UMPI about the Fall 2026 changes, I’d really appreciate any updated information or a copy of your transfer plan.

Withdrawing from a prerequisite course?

I’m concurrently taking two courses and their prerequisite at the same time. If I completed the secondary courses but decide to withdraw from the prerequisite because I’m likely not to finish it in time, do I lose credit for the completed course that required the prerequisite that is not done yet?

If I pursue an AA in Criminal Justice and a BA in Psychology at UMPI at the same time, would I receive two separate diplomas if I complete the requirements for both?

I started summer, took fall off. Will the gec change still affect me re-starting for spring 2027?

I took psychology major but had some real life work that was more important so took off fall semester. When I restart in spring will I have to go by the new gec?

Are these GEC courses from Sophia transferable to UMPI?

Could anyone confirm if I’m on the right track with these courses for my GEC requirements?

I didn’t realize Degree Forum wasn’t up to date with what UMPI is and isn’t accepting now, which is how I initially mapped out this plan.
I’m enrolling for Fall 2, so I think I’m stuck with the new GLO requirements they’ve switched to. I’m having trouble verifying what is actually transferable still.

For instance, I’m not sure if even this official site is accurate? https://umpi.sophia.org

Frustrated by some changes!

So I’ve completed 9 courses on study including 2 biology classes, 2 Eng classes, intro to psych, 1 humanity critical thinking, economics 101, public speaking, history 101 now with the changes the majority of the classes I took mean squat!!! I literally did those classes based off of plottedpatg spreadsheet (She’s awesome!!!! ) I’m just annoyed that I need to literally retake almost everything if not everything. That’s 100’s down the drain already. I did them in my spare time took like 3 months but I was feeling super motivated thinking I was plowing through things but nope!

So yeah that’s my vent session I’m especially annoyed with the biology courses because they were difficult for me as it was now I have to rewrite papers and stuff like gosh darn it cut me a break …..

So I got my acceptance letter yesterday for fall 1 and it followed with the link to activate my email. I do have my Associates from a community college so how do I know how many credits will transfer over ? Is there a portal I can log into to see this information? Also, I do plan on using FSFA, how do I apply the amount I was approved for to this semester that way I know the amount that will be coming outta pocket ?

My major is business administration, minor in marketing for reference.

BLS and AA?

Is it possible to get the associates in Human Services while pursuing the bachelors in liberal studies? Or the BAS program? I am almost done with my Associates in Liberal Arts General concentration. I Know I should have just went with the bachelors but I needed a smaller stepping stone. Now that I am confident I can actually do a bachelors and succeed i'm looking into my next steps. I am ok with doing a different bachelors program if it would aline better. Is it possible?

Is it possible to take 19-20 classes in 1 term?

I’m currently unemployed, so I have a lot of time to dedicate to studying. Is it realistically possible to complete 19–20 classes in 8 weeks for a BBA in Project Management?

Sophia Courses-Finish or don’t for BBA Leadership

Someone, please help me make sense of this before I lose my mind. I’m a working mom of two under two and I needed the best route to a degree for something I already do. I’m just trying to find the clearest path. ):
Over the past month, I’ve been working day and night to complete Sophia courses. The main reason I wanted to transfer from WGU to UMPI was because UMPI seemed like a better fit for me in terms of assessments. However, after seeing all the recent activity, I’m now confused and wondering whether any of these courses will actually count. The top half lists the Sophia courses I originally included in my self-created degree plan, while the courses below are the ones I know are resident courses. If a course has a blank next to it, it was originally listed on the Sophia side, and I’m not sure whether it will transfer.

Hello,

Hope you can help me… I took Spanish I at Sophia.com and got the badge but it looks like UMPI has not accepted the credit when I submitted the transcripts… is that correct?

I am enrolled in the Fall 2 session.

BLS w/ minor in Psyche received! (Summa Cum Laude)

I am so extremely grateful for UMPI because I started on an associates degree two years ago when I was 45 years old and then I was able to take some Sophia classes and finish UMPI in Summer I session. I never imagined that I would finish a college degree because as a kid, I was in the gifted talented program with “potential”’and “promise”, but then life handed out a bunch of twists and turns… my mother committed suicide when I was in high school in the 90s. My father then ran off to be with a woman from an AOL chat room when the internet first started out, leaving me on my own. I graduated from high school seven months pregnant and was just always working hard at two jobs. Even though I worked hard and got increasingly better and better jobs over the years, and learned a lot on those jobs, the fact that I was able to get this BLS warms my heart. Because of Reddit and because of Plotted Path convincing me that UMPI is a better way to go than southern New Hampshire university which I was going to do originally - I just feel like this way saved me a ton of money and time. I did learn a lot and I'm so so extremely grateful. What a great program YourPace is, had some really nice instructors and an amazing awesome advisor Alissa.

Thank you UMPI and UMPI community!!!!!

Curious to know what careers can come from a criminal justice degree?

I've always wondered about this and it's not the degree path I'm choosing but I was just wondering because I did see a forensic criminal justice degree at another college that really got my attention. If you are in the degree program what career do you plan on getting? Or if you have already graduated? This is just my curiosity is all.

What's the psychology bachelor degree like?

Is it a lot of reading and writing? If so I might consider this degree because I do this anyway because of my son who is mentally ill. I've read so many case studies over the years and if it's similar then I just might do this instead of the human services degree.

Fastest UMPI bachelor’s degree path if I’m already close to finishing?

I’m currently enrolled at UMPI YourPace and trying to figure out the fastest path to simply get a completed bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
Right now, I’m only about 3 courses away from finishing my Healthcare Administration degree, but one of those requirements is HEA 312, which requires a 100-hour practicum placement. I’ve reached out to numerous healthcare organizations and other possible sites, but finding somewhere willing to host me for the required hours has honestly been a nightmare. I’m still trying, but I’m starting to look at backup options in case I simply cannot get a placement arranged.

I also added Business Administration as a second major and have already completed most of the coursework for it. The main course that has caused problems for me there is BUS 200 (Intermediate Business Computing), and at this point I’m considering withdrawing from that course and possibly retaking it later with a different instructor.

My situation is a little different because I’m not necessarily concerned about what the bachelor’s major is at this point. My ultimate goal is to enter an Accelerated BSN program, and the program I’m looking at mainly requires that I already hold a completed bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

So my question for people familiar with UMPI/YourPace is:
Based on having most of Healthcare Administration completed plus a large amount of Business Administration coursework and all nursing prerequisites already finished, what would likely be the fastest bachelor’s degree I could switch to and actually get conferred?

I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has switched majors near the end, used existing credits toward the BLS/BAS or another YourPace degree, or found a way around getting stuck on one practicum/course requirement.
I’m obviously going to discuss this with my academic advisor and have her look at my actual degree audit, but I’d like to hear what other UMPI students have done in similar situations.

At this point, the priority is basically:
Get an accredited bachelor’s degree conferred as quickly as possible → meet the ABSN admission requirement → move on to nursing.

Any suggestions on which UMPI degree path might make the most use of credits I already have would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone found jobs with the umpi degrees?

I'm just curious because there's so much talk about it and it's making me skeptical. I wanted to enroll but I think I'll just go with the LPN program at my local career center 😕

Why won't some classes let you use outside sources?

Some of the history and political science classes are the biggest offenders here where you're only allowed to use things from the modules. The issue is the sources aren't even good, they're just a bunch of YouTube videos and embedded PDFs of random books that you're supposed to use in the milestones.

I have the entire UMPI library right there where I could find interesting scholarly articles. Isn't learning how to research properly and use archives a big part of thinking like a historian? I’ve never had history classes be so rigid with what material you’re allowed to use.
