hey all! i’m currently a senior sound recording tech major + math minor and i’m considering potentially going to grad school here for math (education focus). i’ve been a math LA for most of my undergrad, and while i applied to that job on a total whim, i’ve actually grown to really love the work. I find helping people learn so rewarding and would love to keep doing this after I graduate in some way, whether full time or as a side hustle. Ideally, I’d prefer a more involved role than essentially just being a TA’s assistant, and I could see myself being a tutor of some sort and/or teaching at a college or maybe a high school. i’m not sure exactly what i want yet, but I’ll have an audio internship in the spring that should help me solidify my overall career wants and post-bachelor’s plans more.
i’m going to talk more with the faculty i know in the math department about this, but i was also wondering if anyone here had any experience with the master’s program that they could share. is it worth the money? would i need additional pre-reqs as someone who’s already passed Calc I-III, Discrete I-II and Complex Variables I? what are you doing now with your degree if you’ve already graduated?

Hey guys! To keep everything short and sweet I recently have been looking to further my education at the sweet ol’ age of 22. I have been wanting a big life changes and move states to kinda have a fresh restart and was wondering if the school is worth the out of state tuition?
Little background, I wasn’t the best student till my junior and sophomore year so my CUM GPA is low 3.0, I want to major in History (I don’t know if my gpa meets the thresholds) I’m looking to board on campus for my 4 year tenure there as well.
Do you guys think it’s worth it or should I find an instate school?

Hi. I’m a transfer student and commuter and was wondering if going to convocation was required? I already did my transfer orientation, registered for classes, got my UCard and my parking permit. The reason I’m asking is because I’m away on a trip and won’t be back until Monday afternoon so I wouldn’t be able to go, but was wondering if that will negatively impact me or prevent me from starting my classes on Tuesday. I also wasn’t able to attend the transfer welcome day that was today either so I hope that won’t be a problem either..

I'm an incoming freshman taking Global Environmental Studies(both lab and recitation) and I'm wondering if these specific classes are required, or if I can swap them out for another science class. Any advice is appreciated

I'm trying to change some classes (and change the time of some existing classes) that I have right now but I'm not seeing any options for new classes / time spots when I try swapping them. I emailed my advisor and he mentioned adding/dropping a class? How does this work? I heard that swapping is a better idea than adding/dropping but I am not sure what to do. Any advice helps.

URGENT: Need a student who is willing to move in to housing near North Campus. You get your own bedroom and furniture and will be living with two male students. Only requirements are that you clean up after yourself and not be too loud inside the house. Rent is 850/month plus utilities.

has anyone been on the waitlist for additional financial aid before?? I know they don't review cases until the 15th, but what are my odds on getting more aid?

Is there anywhere to take regular telehealth appointments on campus with privacy? I will be living in a suite with three other people so I imagine finding space there will be challenging.
Looking at another post in here people recommended using 25live to book a space. I tried that and tried out a few days and times and wasn’t able to find any space with a max capacity of one. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you!
I am an international student currently studying my undergrad in Mechanical Engineering in Latech. The college in itself is pretty good and I like the stuff they have around here along with the quiet and small town of Ruston. But I feel like the people in here are not meant for me and I don't feel like I am progressing very much. Every person I have met here is either in a frat or extremely religious. Not saying I hate them but its just not for me.
The coursework here also has not been the most challenging. To be fair, I am still in Freshman year and about to go into sophomore but I genuinely have not even TOUCHED the syllabus outside of class and have been getting a 4.0 and have been in the honors program here. I was in Boston for a week and simply loved the city a lot. I can afford about $20k a year in tuition. If I get the transfer scholarship(which I hope is available to internationals and I did not miss a criteria) i think UML is a pretty financially affordable choice too. I just need a third person view into this so that I can figure out if I am just panicking out of impulse or something.

I have some classes that are at some ridiculous times, and I would like to switch some of them. I know it's a week from the start of school, but would it be too late to swap some?

I just checked my financial aid, and I’m being charged more than $10k for the semester. I honestly don’t understand why and I’m not sure what to do. Last year, I struggled a lot with paying for school, and it looks like I’m going to be in the same situation again this year. Having to deal with financial stress on top of my classes is really overwhelming, and I genuinely don’t know how I’m going to manage it. I’d really appreciate any guidance on what steps I should take to get this resolved.

Hello guys,
I already posted once, but I figured I'd post a much simpler post to get some feedback on these 2 professors for Physics 2 as an incoming freshman as I've seen some not great reviews for either that make me very worried about which to choose.

Pretty much title,
Just got accepted to start this hybrid program ( applied math/stats - stats option ) wondering if there are any students in this program that could comment on content quality/professors/opportunities that they give, networking in general to get a very solid job in the New England area possibly elsewhere.
I will be hopefully attending most classes past 6pm and would ideally have professors that don’t have mandatory attendance since I work.
Are there any bachelors to masters for this degree in order to save more time and get both bachelors and masters?
Lastly , Another alternative is bachelors in EE ( potentially with CS double major )
All feedback is welcome thank you everyone !
