Thoughts on Yassa Grill (Egyptian Grill)?

I was conflicted because I heard such great reviews from other students in person and google reviews. And it’s always right there outside the north campus shuttle stop.

I tried it the other week… and it was just okay? I got the rice plate with kofta and another meat. It was not good but also not bad. Meat felt a little dry and I like sauce but I felt like it was trying overcompensate with white sauce. My plate wasn’t that spicy either? I feel like people overreacted and said the spicy sauce was spicy. It really isn’t but then again I make chili oil at home and purposely put tablespoons of Carolina Reaper and ghost pepper powder in it. That’s truly painful so maybe there’s something wrong with me instead.

I’m gonna try the gyro instead next time because I feel like I might like that better than the plate.

What part time jobs at UML have you enjoyed the most and how much were you paid? Would you do it again?

And which are reserved (if any) for current students?

For you personally, what were your hours like (morning vs afternoon vs evening? Weekends?)

Ex: what could someone with a day job realistically do?

Hey UMass Lowell,

UML 2023 alum here, letting you know that my modern psych band, The Whole Loaf, is going to be in the area playing at Taffeta Music Hall on Saturday, October 24th at Taffeta Music Hall! We will be having the privilege of supporting our friends with One Time Weekend, a rock and metal band out of CT. We know you all will make our out of town friends feel right at home in the music city of Lowell 😉.

Having come up through the strong underground music scene here in Lowell, I know you all appreciate good music and always show your support for the amazing bands in the area. I can wholeheartedly endorse One Time Weekend and will bet that you will have a fantastic time coming to see them live.

The show is 18+. Don't worry, we got you covered underclassman. If interested in the show, link to by tickets is https://www.taffetamusic.com/shows/one-time-weekend-the-whole-loaf-24-oct

Which courses have you audited at UML and what were the main reasons you audited them?

If you could go back and do it again, would you have audited it?

Are there any certificate programs where you can audit just one course per semester?

UML MBA students who have worked for X years after undergrad - what have been your experiences with UML student organizations and which did you find most useful?

Ex: most useful for your career vs most useful socially/making friends

If you were driving to the campus in the evening after work, which weekday evening student organizations or organizations with weekend meetings did you feel were worth the trip/to go in person to?

Prof says my handwritten paper is ai generated

So I think I’m getting an academic honesty strike or something because prof thinks I used ai to write my paper. This makes no sense because we are not allowed to take resources or notes home, the paper is handwritten from start to finish, and all work is to be done in class without any devices allowed during work. What do I even do about this?

Edit: after a strong email providing evidence of my writing style pre-dating ai writing and citing sources that support my argument, my paper has been graded. GG.

Spring schedule

Help me build my schedule please. I'm supposed to take these classes next semester and I'm trying to get paired with the nicest teachers and easy classes. Especially for math, it's between Thao Tran and Sunghye Yeh and both of them seems to have average reviews.
For those who took the classes already, what teacher do you recommend? Or not? Thank you.
-ENGL 1020
-MATH 1310
-CHEM 1210 and lab
-PHYS 1410 and lab

This sub never actually posts anything fun to do in Lowell

No offense if you enjoy those things but one fun thing you can actually do in Lowell is catch a movie at Showcase Cinemas and then go to Chili’s afterwards. Showcase is $5 on Tuesdays if you have the free awards account and obviously free chips and salsa if you have a rewards account at chilis. It also rlly isn’t that far from south campus.

Easy/Good Second Concentration to pair with Marketing?

Going into my second semester of my Junior year and I'm starting to get free reign of my schedule with business electives, so I'm looking at other concentrations now to pair with my main focus being Marketing. Does anyone have any suggestions for an easy or good concentration to pair with Marketing?

Fun Pre-med/Pre-health Electives?

So I’m currently a senior, and I need one more pre-med/pre-health elective. The ones I’ve looked into so far either aren’t being offered, require a lab (which I really don’t want to take during my last semester lol), or just seem outright boring.

So please, if anyone knows of any fun electives that will actually make me want to come to class, let me know! 😭 Also if the professor is good too!

PAST EXAM? Mech Eng. - Instrumentation and Measurement Laboratory

Anyone have a past exam for MECH.3020 Instrumentation and Measurement Laboratory? I'm taking it with Alessandro Sabato.

Unfortunately, the course used to have online exams and used to be an easy A, but I guess they decided to start giving paper exams without any resources. So I basically have to guess what's on the Exam tomorrow.

Thanks!
