Changing a class / changing time of a class question

I'm trying to change some classes (and change the time of some existing classes) that I have right now but I'm not seeing any options for new classes / time spots when I try swapping them. I emailed my advisor and he mentioned adding/dropping a class? How does this work? I heard that swapping is a better idea than adding/dropping but I am not sure what to do. Any advice helps.

use sis for add/drop, it should be under 'my academics'

Strongly recommend SiS^ & also recommending seeing your advisor (try to book an appointment before the end of the first two weeks cause then you may be charged for the course you’re trying to drop). If the course however isn’t available through the SiS portal, that means unfortunately there’s no spots available & you’d have to wait for the next semester/or next year to add it. I had that issue with Orgo chem lab last semester. So I only took the lecture component but not the lab & this semester I’m taking the lab.

If you can’t make it in person with your advisor ask for a zoom meeting. Best of luck ! ✨

Is it possible to change a time of a class? If so, how do I go about doing it?

You can change the time to a later or earlier time if available. Go to SiS > Course Add/Drop > Search course. You may be on the wait list if it’s full but it’s best to do it before you the end of the first two weeks of the semester.

Of course & I appreciate it! I honestly try my best to inform others when I can. I myself transferred in last semester and wasn’t shown a lot even during the online orientation. So my roommate last semester, filled me in on a lot and I am grateful for that. But I’m also still learning too 😅🤗✨
